Bestimmungsgemäßer Gebrauch
❐Das Gerät ist zum Rösten von Brot und Brötchen vorgesehen.
❐Das Gerät ist nicht zum Grillen oder Braten von Fleisch oder anderen Lebensmitteln
geeignet.
❐Das Gerät ist nicht dazu bestimmt, mit einer externen Zeitschaltuhr oder einem separaten
Fernwirksystem betrieben zu werden.
❐Das Gerät ist für den Privatgebrauch, nicht für eine gewerbliche Nutzung bestimmt.
❐Nutzen Sie das Gerät nur wie in der Anleitung beschrieben. Jede weitere Verwendung gilt
als bestimmungswidrig.

❐Halten Sie Kinder und Tiere vom Verpackungsmaterial fern. Es besteht Erstickungsgefahr!

z. B. der Rost und das Krümelauffangblech werden während des Betriebes sehr heiß.

abgekühlt ist.
Aufstellen und Anschließen
❐Verwenden Sie das Gerät nur in geschlossenen Räumen.

❐Stellen Sie das Gerät immer auf einen trockenen, ebenen, festen und hitzeunempfindli-
chen Untergrund.
❐Halten Sie ausreichend Abstand zu Wärmequellen wie z. B. Herdplatten oder Öfen, um
Geräteschäden zu vermeiden.
❐Brot und Brötchen können beim Rösten in Brand geraten. Stellen Sie das Gerät deshalb
nicht in der Nähe von oder unter brennbaren Gegenständen, wie z. B. Gardinen, auf.
❐Schließen Sie das Gerät nur an eine vorschriftsmäßig installierte Steckdose mit Schutz-
kontakten an. Die Steckdose muss auch nach dem Anschließen gut zugänglich sein. Die
Netzspannung muss mit den technischen Daten des Gerätes (siehe Abschnitt „Techni-
sche Daten“) übereinstimmen. Verwenden Sie nur ordnungsgemäße Verlängerungska-
bel, deren technische Daten mit denen des Gerätes übereinstimmen (siehe Abschnitt
„Technische Daten“).
❐Achten Sie darauf, dass das angeschlossene Netzkabel keine Stolpergefahr darstellt.
Lassen Sie das Kabel nicht über den Rand von Tischen oder Küchentheken hängen. Es
könnte jemand hängen bleiben und das Gerät herunterziehen.
❐Verlegen Sie das Kabel so, dass es nicht gequetscht oder geknickt wird und nicht mit
heißen Flächen in Berührung kommt.
Gebrauch
❐Überprüfen Sie das Gerät vor jeder Inbetriebnahme auf Beschädigungen. Wenn das Gerät,
das Kabel oder der Stecker sichtbare Schäden aufweisen, darf das Gerät nicht benutzt
werden. Verwenden Sie das Gerät nicht, wenn es eine Fehlfunktion hatte oder herunter-
gefallen ist.
❐Sollte das Gerät defekt sein, versuchen Sie nicht, das Gerät eigenständig zu reparieren.
Kontaktieren Sie in Schadensfällen den Kundenservice.
❐Schalten Sie das Gerät immer zunächt mit dem Aus-Knopf (0) aus, bevor Sie den Netz-
stecker aus der Steckdose ziehen.
❐Ziehen Sie den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose,
– wenn Sie das Gerät über einen längeren Zeitraum nicht verwenden,
– wenn während des Betriebes ein Fehler auftritt,
– wenn Sie das Krümelauffangblech herausnehmen,
– vor einem Gewitter,
– bevor Sie es reinigen.
❐Wenn Sie den Netzstecker aus der Steckdose ziehen möchten, ziehen Sie immer am
Stecker und nie am Kabel.
❐Tragen Sie das Gerät nie am Netzkabel oder Stecker.
❐Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in Wasser oder andere Flüssigkeiten ein! Stellen Sie sicher,
dass das Gerät, Kabel oder Stecker nicht ins Wasser fallen oder nass werden können.
Sollte das Gerät ins Wasser fallen, unterbrechen Sie sofort die Stromzufuhr.
❐Berühren Sie das Gerät, das Kabel oder den Stecker niemals mit feuchten Händen.
❐Verwenden Sie kein zusätzliches Zubehör.
❐Lassen Sie das Gerät nicht ohne Aufsicht eingeschaltet.
❐Lassen Sie das Gerät nicht fallen und setzen Sie es keinen starken Stößen aus.

❐Hantieren Sie nicht mit Messern, Gabeln oder anderen metallischen Gegenständen im
Gerät.
❐Lassen Sie Kleidungsstücke wie Tücher, Schals, Krawatten sowie lange Haare nicht in oder
über das Gerät hängen.
❐Verwenden Sie nur geeignete Backwaren, die zudem das Mindesthaltbarkeitsdatum noch
nicht überschritten haben!
❐Legen Sie Brot und Brötchen nicht in Frischhaltefolie, Alufolie oder Plastikbeuteln verpackt
auf das Gerät. Diese können das Gerät beschädigen oder Feuer verursachen!
❐Lassen Sie kein Papier oder andere brennbare Gegenstände in das Gerät fallen.
❐Rösten Sie kein gebuttertes Brot, Brötchen oder Gebäck.
❐Benutzen Sie das Gerät nur mit dem Krümelauffangblech und entleeren Sie dieses regelmäßig.
Gewährleistungsbestimmungen
Von der Gewährleistung ausgeschlossen sind alle Mängel, die durch unsachgemäße Behandlung,
Beschädigung oder Reparaturversuche entstehen. Dies gilt auch für den normalen Verschleiß.

Vor dem ersten Gebrauch
ACHTUNG!
❐Es kann beim ersten Rösten zu einer Geruchsentwicklung kommen. Wir empfehlen
Ihnen deshalb, das Gerät einmal mit maximaler Röstdauer ohne aufgelegtes Brot oder
Brötchen zu betreiben. Drehen Sie den Regler dazu auf Stufe 6. Sorgen Sie in dieser Zeit
für einen gut durchlüfteten Raum, z. B. durch weit geöffnete Fenster!
❐Halten Sie Kinder und Tiere vom Verpackungsmaterial fern. Es besteht Erstickungsgefahr!
1. Packen Sie alle Teile aus und überprüfen Sie den Lieferumfang auf Vollständigkeit (siehe Ab-
schnitt „Lieferumfang und Geräteübersicht“) und Transportschäden. Falls die Bestandteile
Schäden aufweisen sollten, verwenden Sie diese nicht(!), sondern kontaktieren Sie unseren
Kundenservice.
2. Stellen Sie das Gerät auf einen trockenen, ebenen, festen und hitzeunempfindlichen
Untergrund in ausreichendem Abstand zu brennbaren Gegenständen. Achten Sie bitte
darauf, dass das Gerät Kindern nicht zugänglich sein darf.
3. Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in eine vorschriftsmäßig installierte und geerdete 230 V-
Steckdose mit Schutzkontakten. Es ertönt ein Signalton.
Nun ist das Gerät betriebsbereit!
Gebrauch
Die Stärke der Bräunung hängt stark von der Art, der Frische und der Zusammen-
setzung des verwendeten Brotes bzw. Brötchens ab. Beispielsweise führt ein erhöhter
Eiweiß- und Zuckergehalt, bzw. Calcium zu einer verstärkten Bräunung, während
Fette und Konservierungsstoffe die Bräunung reduzieren. Zunächst sollten Sie, je
nach persönlichem Geschmack und Art der Backware, mit einer kürzeren Röstdauer
beginnen (Stufe 1-3) und diese schrittweise verlängern, bis ein für Sie optimaler
Bräunungsgrad erreicht ist.
ACHTUNG!
❐Vergewissern Sie sich vor der Benutzung des Gerätes, dass das Krümelauffangblech ganz
eingeschoben ist.
❐Die maximale Röstdauer (Stufe 6) ist ausschließlich für dunkle Brotsorten bestimmt! Bei
herkömmlichem Weizentoastbrot kann es zu einer starken Schwärzung und Rauchent-
wicklung kommen. Brechen Sie in diesem Fall den Röstvorgang mit dem Aus-Knopf (0)
sofort ab.
1. Legen Sie das zu röstende Brot bzw. Brötchen auf den Rost.
2. Stellen Sie mit dem Regler die gewünschte Röstdauer ein.
Die Röstdauer kann zwischen Stufe 1= sehr kurzes Rösten/
helle Bräunung und Stufe 6= sehr langes Rösten/sehr starke
Bräunung eingestellt werden.

3. Drücken Sie den An-Knopf (I). Ein kurzer Signalton ertönt und
die Kontrollleuchte leuchtet. Das Gerät beginnt zu heizen.
4. Nach Ablauf der eingestellten Zeit ertönt ein langer Signal-
ton. Die Kontrollleuchte erlischt und das Gerät schaltet sich
aus.
Zum manuellen Abschalten des Gerätes können Sie auch je-
derzeit den Aus-Knopf (0) drücken. Hierbei ertönt ebenfalls
ein langer Signalton und die Kontrollleuchte erlischt.
5. Wenden Sie das aufgelegte Brot bzw. Brötchen und wiederholen Sie den Röstvorgang.
6. Nach Beenden des zweiten Röstvorgangs nehmen Sie das Brot bzw. Brötchen vorsichtig
vom Rost. Berühren Sie dabei nicht die heißen Metallteile des Gerätes! Es
besteht Verbrennungsgefahr!
Reinigung und Aufbewahrung
ACHTUNG!
❐Tauchen Sie das Gerät, das Netzkabel und den Stecker niemals in Wasser oder andere
Flüssigkeiten.
❐Schalten Sie das Gerät vor dem Reinigen und Aufbewahren immer aus, ziehen Sie den
Netzstecker und lassen Sie das Gerät vollständig abkühlen.
❐Verwenden Sie keine ätzenden oder scheuernden Reinigungsmittel oder Reinigungspads.
Diese könnten die Oberfläche beschädigen.
❐Benutzen Sie keine Metallgegenstände zum Reinigen.
❐Das Krümelauffangblech ist spülmaschinengeeignet.
❐Sprühen Sie keine Reinigungsmittel direkt auf bzw. in das Gerät.
• Wischen Sie das Gerät von außen mit einem sauberen, weichen und leicht feuchten Tuch
ab und trocknen Sie mit einem weichen Tuch nach.
• Kontrollieren Sie regelmäßig das Netzkabel auf Beschädigungen.
• Leeren Sie regelmäßig das Krümelauffangblech:
1. Ziehen Sie das Krümelauffangblech vorsichtig heraus.
2. Entfernen Sie die Krümel. Wischen Sie das Blech ggf. mit einem feuchten Tuch ab
oder spülen Sie es mit einem milden Spülmittel unter fließendem Wasser ab.
3. Trocken Sie das Blech gründlich ab.
4. Setzen Sie das Krümelauffangblech wieder ein.
• Bewahren Sie das Gerät an einem trockenen, sauberen, für Kinder unzugänglichen Ort auf.

Fehlerbehebung
Sollte das Gerät nicht ordnungsgemäß funktionieren, überprüfen Sie bitte zunächst, ob Sie ein
Problem selbst beheben können. Kontaktieren Sie ansonsten den Kundenservice. Versuchen
Sie nicht, ein defektes Gerät eigenständig zu reparieren!
Problem Mögliche Ursache / Lösung
Das Gerät lässt sich
nicht einschalten.
• Steckt der Netzstecker richtig in der Steckdose?
• Ist die Steckdose defekt? Probieren Sie eine andere Steckdose.
• Überprüfen Sie die Sicherung Ihres Netzanschlusses.
Das Brot bzw. Bröt-
chen ist zu braun.
• Stellen Sie eine kürzere Röstdauer ein.
Starke Rauchent-
wicklung
• Das Krümelauffangblech ist voll. Schalten Sie das Gerät aus (Aus-
Knopf (0) drücken), ziehen Sie den Netzstecker und lassen Sie das
Gerät abkühlen. Ziehen Sie das Krümelauffangblech heraus, reini-
gen Sie es und setzen Sie es wieder ein. Versuchen Sie es erneut.
• Die eingestellte Röstdauer ist für das verwendete Brot bzw. Bröt-
chen nicht geeignet. Schalten Sie das Gerät aus (Aus-Knopf (0) drü-
cken), ziehen Sie den Netzstecker und lassen Sie das Gerät abküh-
len. Versuchen Sie es danach erneut mit einer kürzeren Röstdauer.

Intended Use
❐The appliance is intended for the roasting of bread and rolls.
❐The appliance is not suited for barbecuing or roasting meat or other food.
❐The appliance is not designed to be operated with an external timer or a separate remo-
te control system.
❐This appliance is for personal use only and is not intended for commercial applications.
❐The appliance must only be used as described in the operating instructions. Any other
use is deemed to be improper.
Danger of Injury
❐Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of
suffocation!
❐This appliance is not designed to be used by individuals (including children) with limited
physical, sensory or mental abilities or those without sufficient experience and/or know-
ledge, unless they are supervised by someone responsible for their safety or have received
instructions from them on how to use the appliance. Children must be supervised in order
to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
❐The appliance should only be used and stored out of the reach of children. The mains cable
must also be kept out of the reach of children. Otherwise they might use the lead to pull
the appliance down on themselves.
❐Caution danger of burns! The heating rods and metal parts of the appliance, such as the
grill and the crumb tray become very hot during operation. The appliance should only be
transported, cleaned, and/or stored when it has cooled down.
Setup and Connection
❐The appliance should only be used in closed rooms.
❐Always place the appliance on a dry, even, firm, and heat-resistant base.

❐Maintain a sufficient distance from heat sources such as hobs or ovens in order not to
damage the appliance.
❐Bread and rolls can catch on fire during roasting. For this reason, do not place the appli-
ance in the vicinity of or under flammable objects, like curtains.
❐The appliance should only be connected to a properly installed socket with earthing con-
tacts. The socket must also be readily accessible after connection. The mains voltage must
correspond with the technical data of the appliance (see section “Technical Data”). You
still need an extension cable whose technical data corresponds with that of the appliance
(see section “Technical Data”).
❐Ensure that it is not possible for others to trip over the connected mains cable. Do not
allow the cable to hang over the edge of tables or kitchen counters. Others may become
caught and pull the appliance down.
❐Position the cable in such a way that it does not become squashed or bent and does not
come into contact with hot surfaces.
Use
❐Always check the appliance for damage before putting it into operation. If the appliance,
lead or plug shows visible signs of damage, the appliance must not be used. Do not use
the appliance if it has malfunctioned or been dropped.
❐If the appliance is broken, do not attempt to repair it yourself. In the event of damage,
please contact our Customer Service department.
❐Always switch off the appliance using the Off button (0) first before removing the mains
plug from the mains socket.
❐Remove the mains plug from the mains socket,
– if you do not use the appliance for a longer period of time
– if a fault occurs while the appliance is in operation
– when you remove the crumb tray
– before a thunderstorm
– before you clean it.
❐When you want to remove the mains plug from the socket, always pull the plug and not
the cable.
❐Never carry the appliance by the mains cable or mains plug.
❐Never immerse the appliance in water or other liquids! Ensure that the appliance, cable
or mains plug do not fall into water or become wet. Should the appliance fall into water,
switch off the power supply immediately.
❐Never touch the appliance, cable or plug with wet hands.
❐Do not use any other accessories.
❐Do not let the appliance run without supervision.
❐Do not drop the appliance or allow it to be knocked violently.
❐Never handle the appliance using knives, forks, or other metallic objects.
❐Do not let clothing like scarves, ties, and long hair hang into or over the appliance.
❐Only use suitable baked goods that have not exceeded the best-buy date!

❐Do not place bread or rolls packed in plastic wrap, plastic bags, or aluminium foil onto
the appliance. This could damage the appliance or cause a fire!
❐Do not let paper or other flammable objects fall in the appliance.
❐Do not roast buttered bread, rolls, or pastries.
❐Use the appliance only with the crumb tray and empty it regularly.
Warranty Terms
The following are excluded from the warranty: all defects and damage caused by improper
handling or unauthorised attempts to repair. The same applies for normal wear.

❐You might notice a strange smell the first time you use the appliance. We thus recom-
mend that you operate the appliance at maximum roasting time without bread or rolls
for the first time. To do so, turn the controller to level 6. During this time, make sure
the room is well ventilated, for example, with wide-open windows!
❐Keep children and animals away from the packaging material. There is a danger of
suffocation!
1. Unpack all parts and check the scope of supply for completeness and transport damage
(see section “Scope of Supply and Appliance Overview”). If you find any damage to the
components, do not use them (!), but contact our Customer Service department.
2. Place the appliance on a clean, level, firm and heat-resistant surface at a sufficient distance
to flammable objects. Make sure that the appliance is not accessible to children.
3. Plug the mains plug into a properly installed and earthed 230 V-240V mains socket with
earthing contacts. A signal tone sounds.
The appliance is now ready for operation!
Use
The degree of brownness depends strongly on the type, freshness, and composition
of the bread and rolls used. An increased protein, sugar or calcium content, for
example, leads to stronger browning, whilst fats and preservatives reduce it. Accor-
ding to your personal taste and the type of baked goods, you should first start with
a short roasting time (level 1-3) and extend it step by step until you reached your
optimum degree of browning.
CAUTION!
❐Before using the appliance, make sure the crumb tray is inserted completely.
❐The maximum roasting time (level 6) is intended only for dark types of bread! In the case of
a piece of conventional wheat toast, for example, burning and the development of smoke
may result. In this case, interrupt the roasting process immediately by pressing the Off
button (0).
1. Lay the bread or roll to be roasted on the grill.
2. Set the desired roasting time using the controller. The roas-
ting time can be set between level 1= very brief roasting/light
browning and level 6= very long roasting/very strong brow-
ning.

3. Press the On button (I). A brief signal tone sounds and the
control lamp lights up. The appliance starts to heat up.
4. When the set time is up, a long signal tone sounds. The con-
trol lamp extinguishes and the appliance switches off.
To switch off the appliance manually, you can also press the
Off button (0) at any time. In the process, a long signal tone
sounds and the control lamp extinguishes.
5. Turn over the bread or roll and repeat the roasting process.
6. At the end of the second roasting process, remove the bread or roll carefully from the
grill. In the process, do not touch the hot metal parts of the appliance! There
is a danger of burns!
Cleaning and Storage
CAUTION!
❐Never immerse the appliance, mains lead or plug in water or other liquids.
❐Always switch off the appliance before cleaning and storing it; pull the mains plug and let
the appliance cool down completely.
❐Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads. These could damage
the surface.
❐Do not use metal objects for cleaning.
❐The crumb tray is suited for cleaning in a dishwasher.
❐Do not spray cleaning agents directly onto or into the appliance.
• Wipe off the outside of the appliance with a clean, soft, slightly moist cloth and dry it with
a soft cloth.
• Inspect the mains lead for damage at regular intervals.
• Regularly empty the crumb tray:
1. Remove the crumb tray carefully.
2. Remove the crumbs. Wipe off the tray with a moist cloth or rinse it with a mild
detergent under running water.
3. Dry the tray thoroughly.
4. Reinsert the crumb tray.
• Store the appliance in a dry, clean place that is not accessible to children.

Troubleshooting
If the appliance should stop working properly, first check whether you are able to correct the
problem yourself. Contact the Customer Service department. Do not try to repair a faulty
appliance yourself!

plug and let the appliance cool down completely. After that, try
again with a shorter roasting time.

❐Placez toujours l’appareil sur une surface sèche, plane, solide et insensible à la chaleur.
❐Pour ne pas risquer d’endommager l’appareil, s’assurer qu’il se trouve à une distance suffi-
sante de toute source de chaleur, par ex. des plaques de cuisson ou d’un four.
❐Le pain ou les petits pains peuvent prendre feu quand on les fait griller. C’est pourquoi il
convient de ne jamais faire fonctionner l’appareil à proximité ou en dessous de matériaux
inflammables, tels par ex. les rideaux.
❐Branchez l’appareil uniquement sur une prise installée de façon réglementaire et mise à la
terre. La prise doit rester facilement accessible même après le branchement. La tension
du secteur doit correspondre aux caractéristiques techniques de l’appareil (cf. paragraphe
« Caractéristiques techniques »). Utilisez uniquement des rallonges dont les caractéris-
tiques techniques correspondent à celles de l’appareil (cf. paragraphe « Caractéristiques
techniques »).
❐Afin que personne ne risque de trébucher, veillez à ce que les câbles branchés ne gênent
pas le passage. Ne laissez pas le câble pendre en bord de table ou le long de plans de travail
à la cuisine. Quelqu’un pourrait y rester accroché et faire ainsi tomber l’appareil.
❐Faites cheminer le câble de sorte qu’il ne soit ni pincé, ni coincé, et qu’il n’entre pas en
contact avec des surfaces chaudes.
Utilisation
❐Avant chaque utilisation, vérifiez que l’appareil ne présente aucun dommage. L’appareil
ne doit pas être utilisé si le câble, la fiche ou l’appareil même présente des dommages
apparents. N’utilisez pas l’appareil en cas de dysfonctionnement ou s’il est tombé.
❐Si l’appareil est défectueux, n’essayez pas de le réparer vous-même. En cas de panne,
contactez le service après-vente (cf. paragraphe « Service après-vente »).
❐Arrêtez toujours l’appareil en plaçant le bouton d’arrêt (0) avant de retirer la fiche de la
prise de courant.
❐Débranchez la prise de l’appareil
– lorsque vous n’utilisez pas l’appareil pendant une période prolongée,
– en cas de défaillance pendant le fonctionnement de l’appareil,
– lorsque vous retirez le collecteur de miettes,
– avant un orage,
– avant de le nettoyer.
❐Pour extraire la fiche de la prise de courant, tirez toujours sur la fiche, jamais sur le câble.
❐Ne portez jamais l’appareil en le saisissant par le câble ou la fiche.
❐Ne plongez jamais l’appareil dans l’eau ou dans un autre liquide ! Assurez-vous que
l’appareil, le câble ou la fiche ne risquent pas de tomber dans l’eau ou d’être mouillés. S’il
arrivait que l’appareil tombe dans l’eau, coupez immédiatement l’alimentation électrique.
❐Ne touchez jamais l’appareil, le câble ou la fiche avec les mains humides.
❐N’utilisez pas d’accessoires supplémentaires.
❐Ne laissez pas l’appareil en marche sans surveillance.
❐Ne faites pas tomber l’appareil et ne lui faites pas subir de chocs violents.
