Once the unit is powered up the DVR will automatically format a brand new
HDD. This process may take up to 10 minutes depending on the size of the
HDD. Once the format is complete the red dot recording lights will appear on
screen, please refer to the image below.
If you plug the HDD into a PC and appears there is no space left on the drive
don’t worry this is normal, the DVR creates shell files which are filled as it
records. This is how the unit encrypts its video files. By pressing the info
button on the remote you can confirm format is complete as below.

Setting up the Time
While the HDD is formatting you can change the settings for the DVR setup,
first is the time and date. First press the ‘LOGIN’ button on the remote, and
then enter the password. (By default it is set to ‘111111’)
Once into the time set menu change the ‘TIME ZONE’ value to GMT. Make
sure you hit ‘SAVE’ at the bottom to save changes. By default the time zone is
set to GMT+8, this must be changed to allow for accurate time information.

Entering Vehicle Information
Next step is to enter the registration of the vehicle this information is then
stamped onto any recorded footage.
Under the license tab enter the vehicle registration number; you could also
enter the company name under company.
Video Resolution Setup
There are three different resolutions the DVR can record at, these are:
D1 –This is the highest, 704 x 576
HD1 –This is the default setting, 704 x 288
CIF –This is the lowest setting, 352 x 288

First change the resolution to the required level, highlight the relevant field
and use the + and –buttons on the remote to change the value.
Next change the recording level, where 1 is the highest and 8 is the lowest.
Once again highlight the field and use the + and –buttons to change the
value.

Last setting on this page is only required if you plan on recording audio. All
you need to do is turn audio on, on the relevant channel/s.
Once all the required settings have been changed remember to hit save at
the bottom of the page.
Setting up the Triggers
The following alarm inputs need to be set up as per how they have been
wired. Highlight the box and press the + and –buttons on the remote. The
following is based on the wiring diagram:
IN2 –Set to LEFT
IN3 –Set to RIGHT
IN4 –Set to BACKOF

IN5 –Set to BRAKE
Please refer to the image below as a guide, these inputs allow the playback
software to show if the driver was indicating, braking or reversing at any
point.
The DVR also has the ability to trigger a curtain camera full screen. The main
two to trigger are the near side and back cameras. To enable this feature high
light the boxes in the preview column and select the channel you want to
show.
