Please read theentire instruction manual before using theproduct and save it for
future reference. Wereserve theright for any errors in text or images and any
necessary changes made to technicaldata. Ifyou have any questions regarding

Note: Contains fluorinated greenhouse gases covered by theKyoto Protocol.
Safety
• Do not use theair conditioner in environments where it can be exposed
to moisture, splashes, water,etc.
• Never use theair conditioner where flammable liquids or gases are stored.
• Never let children play with theair conditioner.
• Do not use anextension lead to connect theair conditioner to awall outlet.
• Theair conditioner must only be connected to a220–240 V, 50 Hz earthed outlet.
Thepower point used must be equipped either with acountdown timer or residual
current device (RCD).
• Do not place theair conditioner where there is arisk of it falling into water or other
liquid. Iftheair conditioner should fall into water or other liquid, unplug themains lead
from thewall socket immediately.
• Always transport theair conditioner in theupright position and ensure that it is
always placed on astable, level surface.
• If themains lead is damaged in any way it must be replaced by aqualified
electrician.
• All repairs must only be carried out by qualifiedstaff.
• Make sure to keep at least 30 cm of free space around theair conditioner.
• If theair conditioner should tip over, turn it off and unplug it immediately.
• Always use theon/off button on thecontrol panel to turn theair conditioner
on oroff. Neveruse themains lead plug for turning thedevice on/off.
• Never handle theair conditioner with wet hands or while barefoot.
• Only use your fingers to operate thecontrolpanel.
• Never try to open, change or modify theair conditioner in anyway.
• Never use theair conditioner if it is in any way damaged or malfunctioning.
• Never cover theair conditioner’s inlets and/or outlets.
• Never use theair conditioner in any other manner than described in this
instruction manual.

Remote Control
Inserting/changing batteries
1. Open thebattery cover on theback of theremote by sliding it downwards
in thedirection of thearrow.
2. Insert 2×AAA/LR03 batteries. Notethepolarity markings in thebattery
compartment to ensure correct insertion.
3. Slide thebattery cover back intoplace.
Note:
• Changing batteries erases any of theremote’s programmed settings.
• Never mix old and new batteries. Nevermix rechargeable and
non-rechargeable batteries.
• Remove thebatteries if theremote control is not to be used for along period.

Installation
Consider thefollowing for optimal performance:
• Make sure that no furniture or other objects are obstructing airflow.
• Keep thefilterclean.
• Shut any curtains in any room exposed to direct sunlight to prevent theroom from
becoming unnecessarilywarm.
• Keep all doors and windows closed to prevent warm air from entering theroom.
• Theair conditioner cools best in rooms that have a17–35 ºC ambient temperature.
• Theair conditioner’s dehumidifying function works best in rooms with a13–35 ºC
ambient temperature.

Connecting theexhausthose
Note:
• Theexhaust hose should be used when theCOOL or AUTO functions are selected
in order to divert warm exhaustair.
• Theexhaust hose does not need to be mounted when theFAN or DRY functions
areused.
• Theexhaust hose can be mounted in awindow or asimple temporary set up can
be used to prop up theexhaust hose to discharge theexcess warm exhaustair.
Forpermanent wall installation, refer to theinstructionsbelow.
3. Mark aninstallation hole in thewall using
adaptor Aas atemplate. Cutout thehole.
4. Install adaptor Ainto thehole and attach
theother end of theexhausthose.
Closetheadaptor’s lid when theexhaust
hose is not beingused.
5. Make sure that thehose has
therecommended amount of floor
clearance when installing. Seepicture.
6. Do not allow any bends in thehose.
See picture.
1. Attach hose coupling adaptor B to one end
of theexhausthose.
2. Slide thehose’s coupling adaptor onto
theexhaust attachment point (12).

Operating instructions
Note: Iftheair conditioner should be shut off inadvertentlye.g. by apower cut, it will
restart holding thesame settings it had before thepower cut when thepower comes
backon.
Control panel operation
COOL – air conditioning
1. Connect themains lead to awall socket and turn on theair conditioner by pressing [ ].
Press [MODE] until theCOOL indicator is illuminated.
2. Press [Λ] or [V] to set thedesired room temperature. Temperature settingsrange:
17–30 ºC (62–88 ºF).
DRY – dehumidifier
1. Connect themains lead to awall socket and turn on theair
conditioner by pressing [ ]. Press [MODE] until theDRY
function is illuminated. Note: IftheDRY function is selected you
will be unable to adjust the fan speed ortemperature.
2. Pull out theupper drain plug and connect a ¾″hose. Note:
Thehose must always be connected when theDRY function
isused.
3. Position thedrain hose so that thewater
is drained away appropriately.
4. If the “P1” error code appears and 8 audible signals are heard,
it means that theair conditioner’s water
reservoir is full and needs to be emptied. Theair
conditioner will be off but thefan will continue
to operate even when “P1” isshown. Thisis
completely normal. Movetheair conditioner to
an appropriate area for draining and unscrew
thelower drain cover (14).
5. Let thewaterdrain.
6. Screw thedrain plug backon.
FAN – fanspeed
1. Connect themains lead to awall socket and turn on theair conditioner by
pressing [ ]. Press [MODE] until theFAN indicator is illuminated.
2. Press [FAN] to select fan speed, HIGH or LOW. IftheHIGH setting was selected,
press [FAN] twice to return to theLOW setting.
AUTO
1. Connect themains lead to awall socket and turn on theair conditioner by
pressing [ ]. Press [MODE] until theAUTO function is illuminated.
2. Theair conditioner will automatically maintain theset room temperature in thismode.
3. If theAUTO function is selected you will not be able to manually change thefanspeed.

TIMER – timer function
With theair conditioner turnedon:
1. Press [TIMER]once. TheOFF indicator will be illuminated. Thisindicates that
thetimer’s automatic stop time function is activated. Setthedesired stop time
bypressing or holding down [Λ] or [V].
2. Press [TIMER]once. TheON indicator will then comeon. Thisindicates that
thetimer’s automatic start time function is activated. Setthedesired time by
pressing or holding down [Λ] or [V].
With theair conditioner turnedoff:
1. Press [TIMER]once. TheON indicator will then comeon. Thisindicates that
thetimer’s automatic start time function is activated. Setthedesired time by
pressing or holding down [Λ] or [V].
2. Press [TIMER]once. TheOFF indicator will be illuminated. Thisindicates that
thetimer’s automatic stop time function is activated. Setthedesired time by
pressing or holding down [ Λ ] or [V].
SLEEP – gradual cooling
Note: Thesleep feature can only be activated with theair conditioner on and only if
theAUTO or COOL functions is selected.
1. Press [SLEEP]. Theset temperature will be reduced by 1 ºC during thefirst
30minutes.
2. After another 30 min thetemperature will be reduced by afurther 1ºC.
3. Thereafter theair conditioner will continue to reduce thetemperature for thenext
7hours and then return to theoriginal set temperature.
Remote control operation
Note:
• Theremote control has an8-metrerange. Pointtheremote directly at theair
conditioner making sure that there is no furniture or other objects obstructing
theremote’s signals from reaching theair conditioner.
• Thesignals from theremote can be blocked if theair conditioner’s IR sensor
isexposed to strong sunlight.
• Do not expose theremote control to persistent sunlight, blows ordamp.
• Select ºC or ºF by holding down both [Λ] and [V] for 3 seconds.
AUTO
1. Connect themains lead to awall socket and make sure thered indicator
below [ ] islit.
2. Press [MODE] until AUTO isshown.
3. Press [Λ] or [V] to set thedesired temperature.
4. Press [ON/OFF] to turn on theair conditioner. Theair conditioner will automatically
maintain theset room temperature in thismode.
Note: IftheAUTO function is selected you will not be able to set thefanspeed.

COOL – air conditioning
1. Connect themains lead to awall socket and make sure thered indicator
below [ ] islit.
2. Press [MODE] until COOL is selected.
3. Press [Λ] or [V] to set thedesired temperature.
4. Press [FAN] to select fan speed, HIGH or LOW.
5. Press [ON/OFF] to turn on theair conditioner.
FAN
1. Connect themains lead to awall socket and make sure thered indicator
below [ ] islit.
2. Press [MODE ] until FAN is selected.
3. Press [FAN] to select fan speed, HIGH or LOW.
4. Press [ON/OFF ] to turn on theair conditioner.
Note: IftheFAN function has been chosen, you will not be able to set thetemperature.
DRY – dehumidifier
1. Connect themains lead to awall socket and make sure thered indicator
below [ ] islit.
2. Press [MODE ] until DRY is selected.
3. Press [Λ] or [ V ] to set thedesired temperature.
4. Press [ON/OFF ] to turn on theair conditioner.
Note: IftheDRY function is selected you will not be able to set thefanspeed.
TIMER – function
Setting thetimer starttime:
1. Press [TIMER ON ]. Theremote will display “TIMER ON” and themost current
TIMER ON setting along with the “h” (hour) symbol willshow.
2. Press [TIMER ON ] again to set thedesired starttime. Eachpress increases
thestart time by 30-min increments up to the10-hourmark. Eachpress thereafter
increases thetime by 1-hour increments until amax of 24-hours is reached.
3. After afew seconds theremote will send theset timer setting to theair conditioner
and the “TIMER ON” will be lit on thecontrolpanel. Thetimer’s automatic start
time is now activated.
Setting thetimer’s stoptime:
1. Press [TIMER OFF ]. Theremote will display “TIMER OFF” and themost current
TIMER OFF setting along with the “h” (hour) symbol willshow.
2. Press [TIMER OFF ] again to set thedesired stoptime. Eachpress increases
thestart time by 30-min increments up to the10-hourmark. Eachpress thereafter
increases thetime by 1-hour increments until amax of 24-hours is reached.
3. After afew seconds theremote will send theset timer setting to theair conditioner
