INSTRUCTIONS FOR SINGLE-DOOR GDM26 COOLER
Please Follow the steps below for installation of the
CLEANLIFE®SINGLE-DOOR COOLER Retrofit Kit.
Thank you for purchasing the CLEANLIFE®
SINGLE-DOOR COOLER RETROFIT KIT.

Tools Required for Installation: Phillips head screwdriver or driver, hex
head driver, wire stripper, wire cutter, wire nuts & zip-ties.
SAFETY WARNING:
Prior to installation, verify that power has been disconnected
from the system!
Use all necessary precautions while performing this procedure.
Remove the lamp socket panel from the cooler to gain access
to the lamp socket wiring (Blue and Red wire). The panel,
sockets, and T8 fluorescent bulb can be disposed of once
removed. Ensure the fluorescen bulb is properly disposed of.
Remove the top and bottom lamp socket from the door and cut the wiring going to both sockets to allow the
IDL harness to be completely removed from the door frame. All components removed can be disposed of.
Remove the
top sign
frame header
from the
cooler to
gain access
to the top T8
fluorescent
bulb and
lamp sockets.
Using two WAGO connecters (2 way
connector) connect the 24" Frosted
LED strip to the cabinet harnessing. Red
to Red and Black to Blue.

Remove and properly
dispose of the lamp
shield and T8 fluorescent
bulb from the inside of
the door.

Insert the right side LED strip into the mounting clip
(handle side) but do not secure to the frame until you
have the left side installed.
Step 9:
THIS KIT INCLUDES:
8 x BLACK SCREWS
(#8-3/8")
Attach the two LED strip
mounting clips (CL-A-13)
to the header panel so
that the clips will attach
to the LED approximately
2" from each end of the
LED Strip.
3 x ZINC-PLATED
DRILLING SCREWS
(#8-1 1/2" )
Cut the Blue and Red wires to
length after LED is mounted.
Using the zinc-plated screw
(4 -1/2 "), attach the middle LED
strip mounting clip (CL-A-7) to
the right door frame (handle
side) aligning so it is half way up
the glass, then attach two end
mounting clips (CL-A-13) to
secure the LED strip. Repeat this
process when installing the clip
to the new IDL cover. You will
want the clips to be in the same
line as each other then you
open the door.

Using wire cutter, clip a small notch in the far right and left of the door
gasket frame. Once notched route the LED locking connector harnesses
(both right and left) through the notches and connect them together.
Route the LED stripped end through
the old IDL harness hole in the bottom
of the door frame.

Before attaching the
IDL cover to the door
frame clip the LED
strip to the IDL cover
and route the locking
connection through
the top wire hole and
the stripped
connection through
the bottom wire hole.
Remove the ballast box cover to gain access to the ballast and wiring.
Remove the ballast from the housing and replace it with the LED Driver. Cut
the wires on the “power-in” side of the ballast (White and Black/Purple)
note: The black wire coming off the “power in” side of the ballast will have a
connection to a purple wire. Make the cut at the purple wire to keep a
cleaner finish. Using the two 2 way Wago connectors, connect the white
and black side of the LED driver to the “power in” wires. White to White and
Black to Purple.
Cut the red and blue wires
“power out” side of the
ballast. Note: the red and blue
wires are the wires that are
going up to the LED header.

Bundle and zip-tie wires to fit back into the ballast box.

Re install the ballast box cover.

Using two 3 way connectors connect the
red wire of the driver to the red wire going
to the LED header and the red wire of the
LED. Once completed connect the black
wire of the driver to the blue wire of the LED
header and the black wire of the LED door.
Step 19:
Remove the old IDL Plug located on the side of the ballast box and
route the new LED wire coming from the bottom of the door frame
around the bottom hinge and through the IDL plug hole.

Use two black screws (#8-3/8") to install the top door wire cover to the door
frame to prevent the wires from being exposed.
Secure the IDL cover to
the door frame using
three zinc-plated drilling
screws (#8-1/2").
Using two black screws (#8-3/8”),
secure both LED strips via
the top and bottom mounting
brackets (CL-A-13) to the door
frame ensuring they are evenly
aligned with each other.
