M81 Series Spool Adapter Instructions

General
The M81 Series spool adapter is used to store excess fiber to within 1/4 inch (6.4mm) of the end of the cable
jacket.

Assemble M81LC Spool Adapter
1. Snap the LC coupler into the opening at the
front end of the spool adapter (large snap
side up).
2. Insert the Behind the Wall (BTW)
connectors into the LC coupler.

3. Begin winding the excess fiber so the first
turn is positioned across the top of the guide
and tucked under the guide post.
4. Wind the remaining fiber under the fingers
and guide. Continue winding the fiber around
the spool adapter until you reach the cable
jacket.
5. Insert a cable tie through the top of the cable tie hole.
6. Secure the cable tie around the cable jacket only and
to the spool adapter within 1/ 4 inch (6.4mm) of the
end of cable jacket. Trim off excess cable tie.
7. The spool adapter assembly is now ready for
installation. Position the assembled spool adapter so
that the front face is parallel and in line with the
bottom hole (position 3) in the faceplate.
8. Push the front face of the spool adapter into the
faceplate opening until slightly snug. Then, slightly
rotate the spool adapter upward to latch the spool
adapter into the lock position.
