It is important that you read all the warning and precautions included
in this manual because they are intended to keep you safe, prevent
injury and avoid a situation that could result in damage to the device.

• ALWAYS unplug this product immediately after using.
• DO NOT place or store product where it can fall or be pulled
into a tub or sink.
• DO NOT reach for a product that has fallen into water.

To reduce the risk of burns, electric shock, re, or injury:
• This product should NEVER be left unattended when plugged in.
• Close supervision is necessary when this product is used by,
on, or near children or invalids.
• Use this product only for its intended use as described in
this manual. DO NOT use attachments not recommended by
the manufacturer.
• NEVER operate this product if it has a damaged cord or plug,
is not working properly, has been dropped or damaged, or
has fallen into water. Return the product to a service center
for examination and repair.
• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces and open ames.
• NEVER block the air openings of this product or place it on
a soft surface, such as a bed or couch, where the openings
may be blocked. Keep the air openings free of lint, hair,
and other similar particles.
• NEVER drop or insert any object into any opening or hose.
• Connect this product to a properly grounded outlet only.

INTRODUCTION
This manual should be used for the initial set up of the system and for
reference purposes.
General Information
The Satin-Air APP is a high quality and affordable air support surface system
suitable for pressure ulcer prevention and treatment. It has been specically
designed for prevention of bedsores and offers an affordable solution to
24-hour pressure area care.
The Satin-Air APP has been tested and certied to the following standards:
• UL 1431 (excluding EN 60601-1 & EN 60601-1-2)
• EN 60601-1
• EN 60601-1-2
Intended Use
The Satin-Air APP is intended to reduce the incidence of pressure ulcers while
optimizing patient comfort. It also provides the following:
• Individual home care setting and long-term care
• Pain management related to pressure ulcers as prescribed
by a physician
Contraindication
Patient conditions for which the application of pressure relieving therapy on an
alternation system is contraindicated are as follows:
• Cervical or skeletal traction
• Unstable spinal cord injuries

INSTALLATION
Unpack the box and check for any damage. If damaged DO NOT USE,
please contact your dealer immediately.
Pump & Bubble Pad Installation
1. Place the bubble pad at on the bed mattress and secure with aps.
The ination tube should be towards the foot of the bed so that it can
be connected to the ination nozzle on the pump.
2. Cover with a cotton sheet to avoid direct skin contact and reduce friction.
3. Hang the Satin-Air APP Pump over the frame or foot board of the bed.
Make sure the pump is secured.
4. Connect the ination tubes from the bubble pad to the pump’s
inating nozzle. Make sure they are properly attached.
5. Make sure the air hose is not kinked or tucked under the bubble pad.
6. Before plugging in the Satin-Air APP Pump, make sure the voltage of the
electrical socket is compatible with AC120V/60Hz output.
CAUTION
• DO NOT position any of the equipment where it will make it difcult to
disconnect the power cord from outlet.
• Keep the power cord away from patient to prevent injuries such as
strangulation. Secure the power cord to prevent injuries such as tripping
and to prevent the cord from getting caught in the bed frame.
• Make sure to disconnect the pump by unplugging the power cord
when it is not in use.
OPERATION
Turning ON the power
When the power switch is pushed to the "ON" position, the switch will light
up green to signal the Satin-Air APP Pump is inating the bubble pad. To
save time during the rst ination, turn the pressure knob to the rm position.
Once inated, adjust to the desired rmness.

Pressure Adjustment
It is recommended that the pressure-adjustment knob is turned to rm when
the bubble pad is inated for the rst time. Users can then easily adjust the
pressure level of the bubble pad to a desired rmness or according to the
suggestion from a health care professional.
If the pressure is consistently low, check for any leakage occurring in the in-
ation tubes/pad. Contact your local dealer for replacement of any damaged
tubes/pad.
For Patients:
WARNING
• DO NOT use another pump other than the Satin-Air APP Pump supplied
with this bubble pad. This may result in bubble-puncture.
• DO NOT change any component by yourself. If replacement or repair
is needed, contact your local dealer or service center.
CLEANING
This section describes the procedures to clean and decontaminate the
APP system. It is important to follow these procedures before using the
system on patients.
Pump
• BEFORE cleaning, unplug the system from the electrical socket.
• DO NOT immerse or soak pump in water.
• Check for external damage and move the pump to clean, at and level
work surface where you will be able to clean your Satin-Air APP Pump.
• Place the pump on the work surface
• Spray a cloth with a quaternary ammonium solution rst and wipe the
outside of the case and faceplate.
• DO NOT spray any cleaning solution directly on the surface.
• DO NOT use a Hypocarbonate or Phenolic based cleaning solution
as this may cause damage to the case.
• DO NOT allow excess cleaning solution on faceplate or control panel.
(If solution gets inside the pump, damage will occur.)
• Wipe with a clean cloth and make sure all areas are clean and dry
(top, bottom and both sides).
• After the pump is thoroughly cleaned and dried, proceed to plug in the
pump and test to see if it runs normally.
• Unplug the pump and store with proper identication tag.

Bubble pad
• Wipe down all surfaces with soap and water before using any
other disinfectant.
• Any obvious blood spots should be wet down thoroughly with a
1:9 Hypochlorite solution (1 part bleach to 9 parts water) and allowed
to dry for at least 10 minutes. Then blot with a clean, damp cloth.
• Dry the bubble pad in a SUNLESS area after cleaning.
MAINTENANCE
General
• Regularly check the power cord and plug to inspect for abrasions
or excessive wear.
• Regularly inspect the bubble pad for signs of wear or damage.
• Ensure bubble pad and tubes are connected together correctly.
• Plug in the pump and check the airow from the hose connection port.
Regularly inspect the air hose for any kinks or breaks.
For replacement parts, please contact your local agent or dealer.
Low pressure
If you are experiencing lower than normal pressure from your bubble pad,
check the following:
• Check connections between the air bubble pad and pump. If they are
loose or disconnected; reconnect them.
• Ensure each single cell is not broken. Set pressure dial to rm and
keep the tubes fully inated and inspect for air leakage. If any leakage
occurs, please contact your local dealer.
HANDLING AND STORAGE
• Remove all hoses and sheets.
• Completely deate the bubble pad.
• Lay the bubble pad out at.
• Roll or fold the bubble pad for storage.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
Three-Wire Plug Ground Instructions
This product must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit,
grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for
the electric current. This product is equipped with a cord having a grounding
wire with an appropriate grounding plug. This plug must be plugged into an
outlet that is installed properly and grounded in accordance with all local
codes and ordinances.
DANGER
• Improper use of the grounding plug can result in a risk of electric shock.
If repair or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not connect
the grounding wire to either at blade terminal. The wire with insulation
having an outer surface that is green with or without yellow stripes is the
grounding wire.
• Check with a qualied electrician or serviceman if the grounding
instructions are not completely understood, or if in doubt as to whether
the product is properly grounded.

LIMITED WARRANTY
Please contact your dealer in case of a claim under the warranty.
Your Meridian Medical brand product is warranted to be free of defects in
materials and workmanship for one year on the pump and 90 days on the
mattress pad.
This device was built to exacting standards and carefully inspected prior to
shipment. Your Meridian Medical brand product is warranted to be free of de-
fects in materials and workmanship. If within such warranty period, the prod-
uct proves defective, the product will be repaired or replaced, at the option of
Compass Health Brands Corp.
This warranty does not cover device failure due to owner misuse or
negligence, or normal wear and tear. The warranty does not extend to
nondurable components, which are subject to normal wear and need
periodic replacement.
This warranty shall not apply to serial numbered products if the serial
number has been removed or defaced, or to defects or damages caused
by unauthorized parts, attachments or repairs, negligence, accident, or any
circumstance beyond Compass Health Brands Corp. control, such as
improper operation, maintenance or storage.
