Inserting the drive
1. Unscrew the locking screws on the side and gently take out the inner frame of the
enclosure.
2. Insert the HDD/SSD into the frame in the correct direction of the ports and co-
nnect the drive to the interface of the External Enclosure Case.
3. Carefully insert the inner frame with the drive into the enclosure and screw back in
the locking screws.

Inserting the drive
1.
Unscrew the locking screws on the side and gently take out the inner frame of the
enclosure.
2.
Insert the HDD/SSD into the frame in the correct direction of the ports and co-

First use and formatting the drive
The new hard drive inserted into this External Enclosure Case needs to be formatted in
order to be used for the first time. After first initialization, please follow the instructions
bellow.
1. Connect the enclosure with inserted HDD/SSD into a free USB port on your compu-
ter using the included Micro-USB 3.0 cable.
2. Right click on “This Computer” on your desktop a choose the option “Manage”.
3. In the settings in the section “storage” click on “disk management”. If the drive has
never been used, pop up windows will show up with the partition formatting options.
Choose the format of your drive partition according to the total capacity of the
inserted drive:
a. Less than 2TB (2000GB) choose MBR (Master Boot Record)
b. More than 2TB (2000GB) choose GPT (GUID Partition Table)
Click the „OK“ button afterward.
4. You will create new drive partition by right clicking on the unassigned space on
your drive (black color) and then clicking on the “New Simple Volume”.

Q: I can’t find the drive in my drives and other devices, why?
A: Make sure that there is created partition on the drive formatted according to the
“installation” part of this user guide.
Q: After plugging in the USB cable the drive didn’t start to spin, why?
A: This might occur when the drive isn’t properly connected or then it is not sufficiently
powered. Use different USB port, different cable (ideally a Y split cable with additio-
nal USP connector for power).
Q: Installation of the drive was canceled with warning that the device was not recog-
nized.
A: Unplug the drive from the USB port on your computer and try to plug it in again. If
that doesn’t work, try steps from the previous answer.
Q: I have a different issue with this product that is not answered here.

Initialisierung und Formatierung der Festplatte
Die neue, in die externe Box eingelegte, neue Festplatte ist zu initialisieren und für dem
ersten Gebrauch zu formatieren. Zur Initialisierung der Festplatte verfahren Sie gemäß
den nachstehenden Schritten.
1. Schließen Sie die externe Box mit dem eingelegten HDD/SDD an den freien USB-Port
im Computer mithilfe des beiliegenden Micro-USB 3.0 Kabels an.
2. Klicken Sie mit der rechten Maustaste auf das Bildzeichen „Computer“ auf der Arbeits-
fläche und wählen Sie die Möglichkeit „Verwalten“.
3. In der Verwaltung des Computers klicken Sie in der Sektion „Speicherplatz“ auf den
Posten „Festplattenverwaltung“. Sofern der Disk völlig neu und ungebraucht ist,
erscheint ein Pop-up mit der Möglichkeit der Wahl des Formats des Festplattenseg-
ments.
Wählen Sie das Format des Festplattensegments gemäß der Gesamtkapazität der
eingelegten Festplatte:
a. Weniger als 2TB (2000 GB), wählen Sie MBR (Master Boot Record)
b. Größer als 2TB (2000 GB), wählen Sie GPT (GUID Partition Table)
Klicken Sie anschließend auf die Taste „OK“.
4. Die Erstellung des Festplattensegments erfolgt mittels Klicken mit der rechten Maus-
taste auf den nicht zugeordneten Ort auf der Festplatte (schwarze Farbe) und ferner

9. Auf dem letzten Screen finden Sie die Übersicht der gewählten Einstellungen, wobei
Sie mit der Taste „Beenden“ die Initialisierung und Formatierung der Festplatte fertig
stellen. Die Festplatte ist nun betriebsbereit.
