Read this installation manual carefully before start using the pallet racking.
It is recommended to consult the manual continuously throughout the
entire lifetime of the racking.

2 P90 Pallet racking | Installation manual
Congratulations on your new P90 pallet racking from Constructor.
It is very important that you follow the instructions in this manual, in order for your pallet racking to
be fully functional and comply with current standards.
The purpose of this installation manual is to provide warehouse personnel and management with
important facts on the pallet racking, as well as precautions on potential risk areas. If you have any
questions, please contact us for further information.
The best way to maintain the safety of your pallet racking is through regular inspections and
maintenance.
For details on load capacity per level and section, we refer to the load signs for the individual
installation.
Each installation must carry a load sign.

Racking dimensions (mm)
Minimum distance from oor to upper edge of rst supporting level is 180 mm excluding thickness
of foot and levelling shims.
In case of high bay loads another beam is applicable which results in minimum distance from oor to
upper edge being 230 mm excluding thickness of foot and levelling shims.
Supporting levels are adjustable in increments of 50 mm. Upright height for short side handling of
pallet is 1037 mm for Tox beam and 1100 mm for Bx beam, exterior measurement of supporting level
is 1100 mm.
Uprights for long side handling as well as other special depths are also available.
Beam height (h) = 80, 90, 100, 120, 125, 140 and 150 mm. Other beam heights may occur.
Max. load per supporting level has been calculated based on maximum deection of L / 200.

Anchorage
All uprights must be anchored

Anchorage should be in the
middle slot.
If anchoring in other oors
other than concrete,
please contact Constructor
for guidance.
NOTE!
Prior to the pallet racking being anchored
in the oor, there is a risk of the rack
tilting. The risk is increased proportionally
to depth and height of upright.
If you have any questions, please contact
the manufacturer.

Vertical back stop
NOTE! The prole must be
installed in order for the
locking/clamp to turn parallel
with the length of the racking.
In general the back stop begins
at the lower beam level. The
stop can begin at oor level and
is then anchored into the oor
with a concrete screw M10.
Upright protector
To be installed with a free clearance of min.
50 mm between upright and protector
peak, inside.
The protector is anchored in concrete oor using
concrete screw M10.

When purchasing P90 directly with Constructor
or through a Constructor dealer, Constructor
maintains product reponsibility throughout
10 years. The product reponsibility includes
production errors as well as the product’s
good condition in security matters. This
implies that the values stated on the load
sign are valid for normal handling - on the
condition that other guidelines are followed.
Sale to third party
Please note that when selling to a third party,
Constructor’s product liability will cease (except
for production errors). The total installation
responsibility will pass on to the person having
sold the installation, and it is his/her duty to hand
over the installation documentation required
such as load data, installation manual and similar
documentation as described in this manual, to
the end user.
In case of a collapse or other non-desirable
incident for an installation sold as used by a
dealer or directly by the previous owner, the
product responsibility lies with the same person.
The position of the frame protector (distance
from the uprights) depends on the length of the
frame protector and a potential support.
The protector is anchored in concrete oor
with a concrete screw M10.
Single rack
Free clearance between upright and protector min.
25 mm. Applies to single rack with a frame depth
of max. 1300 mm.
Double rack
Free clearance between upright and protector
70 mm.
If any support for the protector is applied then
clearance can be reduced to 25 mm.

Product safety and responsibility

8 P90 Pallet racking | Installation manual
The safety in your warehouse can be increased
through the prevention of potential accidents.
Apply the user guidelines and:
• map where and when problems can arise
• carry out a security evaluation
• implement measurements suggested in the
guidelines
• carry out regular inspections
In terms of safety it is always a must to install
the racking according to the guidelines in this
manual. The racking must be inspected in
connection to the installation.
Load signs must be placed in a visible location,
and it is managements responsibility to make
sure that they are being obeyed.
The technical safety of racking is best
secured through regular inspection. For future
inspections we refer to EN15635. When handling
e.g. containers, sheets, barrels and cable drums
it is essential to complement the racking with
accessories which are specically designed,
such as cross beams, half pallet inserts etc.
When using the pallet racking for manual picking
operations, the supporting level should be
equipped with a back stop preventing the pallet
from being pushed through the racking or off the
rst beam.
For installation of pull out units it is very
important to obey the following:
• All uprights must be anchored in the concrete
oor.
• The back supporting beam must be secured
to the upright in question with an extra lock,
e.g. screw + nut.
• The load capacity of the front beam must
correspond the unit(s) pulled out.
When positioning a pallet on the supporting
beams, the overhang of the pallet must be the
same from front and back beam. This centering
is important in order to distribute the load evenly
on the supporting beams.
An important part of the initiatives to obtain
highest level of security is to equip the pallet
racking with safety accessories, like frame
protector, upright protector etc.
Safety questions
a = b

© Constructor 2020 9
All material handling equipment must be inspected regularly and according to DS-EN 15635.
• Visual inspection:
quote DS-EN15635
“The person responsable for warehouse safety must see to it that
regular inspections are carried out weekly, or with other regular
intervals based on a risk assessment. Each inspection must be
documented in writing, and all reports must be led.”
• Expert inspection:
quote DS-EN 15635
“An expert must carry out an inspection at least every 12th month.
A written report must be handed over to the person responsable for
the warehouse safety, including observations and proposals for any
potential improvements.”
• Safety review: A safety review must always be carried out in connection with a
change in load levels or other reconstruction. This is to secure that the
data from the load signs are still valid.
If you have any questions, please contact your local representative. Buyer or user is responsible
for above inspections to be carried out. When repairing pallet racking, damaged supporting parts must
be replaced.
Inspecting the racking

Primary control points
Do not overload the
supporting level. Make
sure that the load does
not exceed the capacity
indicated, and that the
load is evenly distributed. Make sure that
the safety pin is
properly locked.
Check that no
uprights are
damaged.
The oor must be
levelled, unbroken
and adapted to
the load.
Install protectors on the
uprights. Make sure
that the aisles are
properly dimensioned.
Make sure that the
goods do not fall
off. Place the pallets
correctly and do not
use broken pallets.
Use the load sign
to check that the
pallet racking is
not overloaded.
First bracing is
placed too high.
Check that no
bracing is damaged.
