User Manual of XmaX HUD
XmaX HUD is an intelligent navigation product; it provides HUD navigation, Bluetooth hand
free telephone, OBD vehicle status information check functionalities. XmaX HUD can project the
navigation information (road name, direction, distance etc.) and vehicle status information
(speed, rotation speed, fuel consumption, etc.), incoming call, messages on a HUD screen in front
of the driver, which greatly improve the user's safety and convenience when driving.

C brief instruction
1. Connect to device
Connect the OBD cable to the OBD interface in the car, and the other end is inserted into the OBD
port ⑨of HUD device.
2. Turn on the power
Fix the HUD device on the sun visor by using clip⑤, and then switch the power key ⑦to turn on
the power.
3. Place the imaging glass
Insert the imaging glass into the base, and then place the base on the dashboard table in front of
the driver. Adjust the angle so that you can see the HUD screen through the glass under normal
sitting position. Record the current position, peel off the 3M protective film on the base, stick the
base to the position, and then fine-tune the glass angle.
When the power is turned on, the default display information of the HUD screen includes speed,
rotating speed, fuel consumption, water temperature, date, time and so on.
4. Connect APP

Open the APP, turn on Bluetooth and search the HUD device names as XMAX-HUD-01, click and
connect it, after it is connected successfully, you can see the Bluetooth status icon on HUD
screen.
5. Navigation
In the APP, you can search the destination, route and then start the navigation. The navigation
information is automatically projected onto the glass screen.
6. Answer/hang up the call
When there is a coming call, press the green phone answer button will answer the call, click the
voice control button, volume -, and volume +, you can adjust the volume.
Red button is phone hang up button, in the call state, press this button will hang up the current
phone.
Press ③to launch Voice Assistant, user can speak voice commands to do navigation, have a call,
etc. Please make sure the bluetooth of APP is connected to the HUD device before using Voice
Assistant.
7. Reset HUD
In case the HUD device is on malfunction you can press this reset button, the HUD device will
restart.
8. Restore factory settings
Restore factory settings button is used when the firmware update fails or cannot be used
normally. Long press this button for 3 seconds; HUD hardware will automatically restore to the
factory firmware setting.
D XmaX app introduction
1. Install APP
Scan the QR code below to download and install APP
2. Map and location
Click the XmaX APP Logo to open the App, if GPS is open, the APP will automatically locate the
user's current location. There are several icons on the screen:
1). Map Zoom in /Zoom out ：click to icon change the map scale, or use finger gesture
upon the map to release it.

2). Location ：Click the icon to locate the user’s current place, click again the icon change
，the direction of the map will change according to the direction of the mobile.
There is a menu bar in the bottom of the homepage, including four menu items: Search, Route,
Vehicle Status and More.
3. Voice assistant
Click the “voice” icon to enter Voice Assistant page, user can speak the following voice
command:
1). Navigation
a) Destination: command –“Navigate to Wall Street”.
b) Nearby place: command –“Navigate to nearby park”, etc.
c) Go home: command – “go home”.
d) Go to Company: command – “go to company”, “navigate to company”.
e) Quit navigation: command –“quit navigation”.
2). Have a call
a) Call somebody: command – “Call Steven”.
b) Dial number: command – “Dial number 1393-2334-311”.
3). Send a message
a) Send a message to somebody: command “Send a message to Alex”.

b) Send a message to number: command “Send a message to number
1382-3434-321”.
4). Reply a message
a) When receiving a message, can say command – “check”.
b) Reply message: command – “Reply”.
4. Search destination and navigate
Click to enter search page. There are three search options:
1). Input the destination directly in the text box, the search results will be listed;
2). User can search the nearby place by category.
3). Users can also quickly select destinations from history and favorites. Search results can also be
saved in the Favorites, so that user can choose later.

After selecting a destination, the APP will come back to the map page; the destination will be
displayed on the map along with other information such as the distance.
Click the Favorites icon , user can save the destination to the favorites or add the place in
the map.
Click “Share” item , can share the place with others by SNS like Facebook, Twitter.
Click , the APP will route and display the route plan on the map.

Click “Start”, the navigation will be launched.

Before navigation please ensure that the Bluetooth has been connected successfully, if it not
connected, the APP will prompt the user to connect the Bluetooth device, the user can choose to
connect the product XMAX-HUD-01.
After user selected the HUD device, APP will connect to the device and then start navigation.
5. HUD display and voice guide
When navigation, direction, speed and other navigation information will be sent to the HUD and
projected to the glass, the information is imaged in front of the user about 2 meters, at the same
time the turn-by-turn voice guide is provided.
6. Route inquiry
Click the menu item to enter route inquiry page. By default the start place is your current
location, click the text bar to change start place if necessary. Click the “To” text bar to set the
destination. Once both start place and destination are set, the APP will route automatically and
display the route on the map, if the start place is current location, Click “Start” icon can start
navigation.

7. Real time vehicle status check
After connecting the Bluetooth device and OBD, click " " to enter the real-time vehicle status
check page, the page displays the real-time driving data of the current vehicle, including the
current speed, rotating speed, fuel consumption, battery voltage, throttle opening, engine load,
coolant temperature, Average fuel consumption, other information.

8. More
Click will display more menu items:
1.“Add a place to map” : add a place to the map data, user can input the category, name,
address of the place and then save it.
2.“Share My Location” : User can share a place with others by SNS.
3.“Download Maps” : Browse or search the country and region and download the map.
4.“Settings” : includes the following settings:
1). Map: Choose measurement units, display or hide Zoom buttons, set Navigation Mode
(Day/Night/Auto), 3D buildings, and auto-download map, display recent track.
2). Navigation: Turn on/off voice instructions, select voice language, set perspective view, auto
zoom.
3). Bluetooth: Search and connect to HUD device.
4). Profile: Login and display user’s profile.
5). Miscellaneous: Send Statistics, Remind coming call, SMS, etc.
6). About: Check App new version, HUD firmware new version, verify HUD serial number,
website, rate on Google play, tell a friend, copyright, etc.

E Precautions
1. This product belongs to HUD navigation device with the mobile phone navigation APP and OBD
wiring.
2. The HUD screen of the device is on high temperature in continues fully working condition and
the cooling fan will work and have sound.
3. In the daytime, the brightness of the screen automatically becomes high; the sound of the fan
may become larger, which is not a malfunction.
4. In voice recognition process, the surrounding noise or unclear pronunciation might cause
unrecognizable situation.
5. If the device is powered off automatically, please restart the power manually.
6. To Use this product with Android smart phone, it is required to install Google , Google Play
Service, Google TTS APP.
Note:
the illustration in this manual is based on the APP of Android, and the iOS version may have minor
differences in the UI, please refer to the iOS APP. Speech recognition support languages : English,
Japanese, Chinese.
