When using this device, the following safety precautions should be

• Read all instructions before operating this device.
• Keep this manual handy for easy reference. The user manual is also

• Do not use appliance for anything other than intended use.
The CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™ should not be modied in any way,
shape or form. Tampering with the electronics of this device is dangerous
and will void your warranty and support.
• The use of accessory attachments not included with the device may result
in re, electric shock or injury to persons.
• Exercise close supervision when using the device around children.
• Remove packaging and fully unwind the power cord before use. Leave
slack in the cord and do not allow it to become coiled, knotted or crimped.
• The CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™ has electronics and a high voltage
power supply on board. To prevent electric shock and protect this device,
do not submerge the power cord or base in water. Always keep these
parts dry and away from water or other liquids. (See p. 17 for cleaning
directions and clean regularly.)
• Keep the device away from counter edges to prevent accidental spills
or damage.
• Do not place on or near hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
Do not place near ammable items like walls or curtains.
• Only operate the device on dry, at surfaces. Do not use the device in a
sink, or on sink drain boards.
• Do not leave the device unattended while in use.
• Never move the device while it is in use, still hot or plugged in.
• Always use the device in an open area to leave room for steam release and
for the fans, located at the bottom and rear of the machine, to vent.
• Do not touch the hot surfaces of the pitcher, sieve, spout or lid during or
after use. Only use the handle.
• Always operate the device with water or milk derivatives/alternatives in it.
Use the MIN and MAX guidelines on the pitcher.
• After use, always return the hot pitcher to the base for cooling. To set
on table or countertop, use a heat resistant coaster to avoid damage to
surfaces.

• Do not use teabags in the pitcher. They may tear or snarl around the
stirrer and even possibly damage the machine. This can create a serious
safety risk and void the warranty.
• Fresh Ingredients must be coarsely chopped to avoid snarling of the
stirrer during operation. Please do not grate or shred your ingredients.
• After use, turn o the power with the power button and only unplug only
after the cooling fans have turned o.
• The CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™ is made for household use only.
Do not use for commercial use, in moving vehicles, or outdoors.
• Always attach plug to appliance rst, then plug cord into the wall outlet.
To disconnect, turn o then remove plug from wall outlet.
• Ensure the safety-locking lid is locked securely during brewing cycles
and pouring. Do not remove lid during brewing cycles or pouring. DO
NOT POUR WITHOUT THE LID CLOSED AND LOCKED IN PLACE.
• Only unlock the lid using the safety release button to add ingredients a
indicated on the control panel during use.
• Do not operate the device with a damaged cord or plug, or after any
malfunctions or damage has occurred. Regularly inspect the device
for any damage. If there is any visible damage or change in operation,
please visit Customer Support at www.CRAFTEA.com/support or email
WARNING: always ensure the stirrer, lid, and sieve are properly locked in
place before use.
WARNING: the stirrer is a choking hazard. Keep out of reach of children
and animals.
WARNING: never immerse the base, power cord, or power plug in water
or any other liquid and allow them to become wet.
HOW TO REMOVE THE LID
1. While holding the handle securely with one hand,
lift the lid with the other hand.

2. Pull the lid all the way back to
a 90-degree (right) angle.

ELECTRIC CORD INSTRUCTIONS
• A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from
becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
• The CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™ is equipped with a standard North
America format plug with a third prong for grounding. Grounding reduces
the risk of electrical shock. The CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™ must
be grounded in a 3-prong outlet.
• Do not use an extension cord with this device.
• A UL surge protector and a safety plug are recommended for powering
the CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™. This protects the electronics in
this device from voltage spikes.
• If your power outlet is 2-prong, it is your responsibility and obligation to
provide a 3-prong grounded outlet. Please consult an electrician.
• Do not tamper with the plug in any way to make it appropriate to use
with a 2-prong outlet. Warranty will be voided.

interference in a residential installation. This device generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency

The CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™ user-friendly
interface is designed with easy to understand the step-by-
step instructions. The stirrer “Vortex Technology” greatly
enhances the imparting of the avors into the tea broth at
the various stages. Some experimentation will be needed
before you nd your favorite “spot”. The machine memorizes
previous settings, which will assist in ne-tuning your cuppa.
Quick Start Guide:
For Teas, follow steps 1 through 9
For Custom Chai, follow steps 1 through 12
For Quick Chai, follow steps 1 through 3 and then 13 through 15
Step 1: Turn on CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™.
Step 2: Insert Stirrer (ax stirrer to magnetic mount, pushing until it clicks
securely) then press conrm button.
Step 3: Using previous/next buttons, select desired Tea Program. Then
press conrm button.
Step 4: Add water (1-4 cups) (250mL – 1L), herbs and/or spices
(optional), then press conrm button.
***FUSION STEPS ONLY APPLY TO CUSTOM CHAI***
Step 5: Select Fusion time (1 to 5 minutes) 1 for weak infusions and
increasing up to 5 for strong infusions, then press conrm button.
Step 6: Machine will begin “Heating” broth and once the selected program
temperature is reached, automatically begins the “Fusion” process
time count down. The machine maintains program temperature
during this process to maximize fusion. Machine will stop.
Step 7: Add Tea/Sweetener as desired, then press conrm.
Step 8: Select Steep time (1 to 5 minutes) 1 for weak avor and increasing
up to 5 for strong avor, then press conrm button.

Step 9: Machine will begin “Heating” broth (if necessary) and once the
selected program temperature is reached. The machine then
automatically begins the “Steep” process time count down. The
machine maintains program temperature during this process to
maximize steeping. Machine will stop.
Your tea is ready to enjoy. Device will beep alerting you every
5 seconds for 3 minutes or until the pitcher is lifted o the base.
(Continuation for Custom Chai)
Step 10: Add Milk or milk substitutes like almond, rice, soy etc. as desired.
Step 11: Select Brew time (1 to 5 minutes) 1 for weak brew and increasing
up to 5 for strong brew, then press conrm button.
Step 12: Machine will begin “Heating” broth (if necessary) and once the
selected program temperature is reached. The machine then\
automatically begins the “Brew” process time count down. The
machine maintains program temperature during this process to
maximize steeping. Machine will stop.
Your Custom Chai is ready to enjoy. Device will beep alerting you
every 5 seconds for 3 minutes or until the pitcher is lifted o
the base.
(Continuation for Quick Chai from Step 3)
Step 13: Add Ingredients: (1-4 cups) (250mL – 1L). Water, Herbs and/or
Spices (optional), tea, sweetener and desired milk or substitute,
then press conrm button
Step 14: Select Brew time (1 to 10 minutes) 1 for weak brew and
increasing up to 5 for strong brew, then press conrm button.
Step 15: Machine will begin “Heating” broth (if necessary) and once the
selected program temperature is reached. The machine then
automatically begins the “Brew” process time count down.
The machine maintains program temperature during this process
to maximize steeping. Machine will stop.
Your Quick Chai is ready to enjoy. Device will beep alerting you
every 5 seconds for 3 minutes or until the pitcher is lifted o
the base.

Instructions
(After conrming setting, machine may take a moment to update!)
1.Turn on your CRAFTEA™ Ultimate Tea Maker™.
Beeps upon start up and again before step 2.
a. Be sure to plug the device into a surge
protector to protect device electronics.
b. Operate device in open area leaving room to
vent steam above the device and vent heat from
the base bottom and back.
2. Inset stirrer. (Flashes conrm button) Conrm.
Beeps once upon conrmation.
a. The stirrer will rotate when the machine is in
operation to speed up infusion, reducing
steep time.
b. The stirrer will magnetically couple to the shaft;
however, it is not fully axed until it clicks
into place.
c. The machine will not operate unless the stirrer is
properly secured.

3. Using next/previous buttons, select desired setting.
(Flashes conrm button) Conrm.
Beeps once upon conrmation.
a. Herbal Tea: heats water to 203ºF (95ºC).
b. Oolong Tea: heats water to 203ºF (95ºC).
c. Rooibos Tea: heats water 203ºF (95ºC).
d. White Tea: heats water to 185ºF (85ºC).
e. Green Tea: heats water to 180ºF (82ºC).
f. Custom Chai: heats water to 203ºF (95ºC).
g. Quick Chai: heats water to 203ºF (95ºC).
h. Boil Water: heats water to 203ºF (95ºC).
i. Delicate Tea: heats water to custom
temperature of 158-203ºF (70-95ºC)
j. Black Tea: heats water to 203ºF (95ºC).
4. Add water and herbs/spices: 1-4 cups
(250mL – 1L). Spices are optional, Keep in
mind, a little bit of herbs/spices goes a long way
(Flashes conrm button) Conrm. Beeps once upon
conrmation and again once when water is heated
to correct temperature. When adding water, you can
also add other ingredients you may want to add to
your infusion (not tea/herbal/tisanes/chai).
a. Heats 1 cup (250mL) of water at ambient
temperature* to 203ºF (95ºC) in 3 minutes.
b. Heats 2 cups (500mL) of water at ambient
temperature to 203ºF (95ºC) in 4.5 minutes.
c. Heats 3 cups (750mL) of water at ambient
temperature to 203ºF (95ºC) in 6 minutes.
d. Heats 4 cups (1L) of water at ambient
temperature to 203ºF (95ºC) in 8 minutes.
5. FUSION mode: select time (1- 5 minutes).
A shorter time will yield a less strong infusion and a
longer time with yield a stronger brew. (Flashes
conrm button) Conrm. Beeps upon conrmation.
a. During this process, device will heat water to the
appropriate temperature for the mode
you selected.
b. Once the water is at the required temperature,
the FUSION process begins for the
selected time.
c. Once this time is done, the machine will beep.
* Ambient temperature is dened as 77ºF (25ºC).

6. Add Tea Sweetener). (Flashes conrm button).
Conrm. Beeps once upon conrmation.
a. 0.1 oz. / 3g (approx. 1 tsp. for most teas) for
1 cup (250mL).
b. 0.2 oz. / 6g (approx. 2 tsp. for most teas) for
2 cups (500mL).
c. 0.3 oz. / 9g (approx. 3 tsp. for most teas) for
3 cups (750mL).
d. 0.4 oz. / 12g (approx. 4 tsp. for most teas) for
4 cups (1L).
7. Select steep time, keeping in mind that Vortex
Technology reduces steep time. Conrm.
Beeps once upon conrmation.
8. Device will reheat the water, as the temperature has
dropped and will begin steep time once temperature
is reached, keeping it constant the entire time.
Beeps once when steep time begins.
9. Once tea is prepared, device will beep twice and
conrm button will ash. It will continue to beep
every ve seconds for three minutes.
Continued steps for “Custom Chai”
10. Add milk: the STEEP time is done. Conrm.
11. Set BREW time (1 – 10 minutes).
Your Chai is now prepared!
Enjoy your tea!
WARNING: Never unplug your CRAFTEA™ Ultimate
Tea Maker™ until the fans have stopped operating.
Doing so will not allow the device to properly cool,
which may cause damage over time.
Note: next time you turn on your CRAFTEA™ Ultimate
Tea Maker™, it will remember what your last setting
was and the various time you used for each one.
It remembers so you don’t have to!

How to care for your CRAFTEA™
Both the brewing jug and stirrer should be cleaned
immediately after each use.
1. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet before cleaning.
2. The brewing vessel will be hot after use. Carefully remove it from the
base and ll it with tap water.
3. Once the brewing vessel has completely cooled, remove the stirring
and rinse of all tea and any milk residue with warm water.
Repeat for stirrer.
4. Wash the brewing vessel, lid, sieve and stirrer in warm soapy water.
5. Wipe the exterior of the base with a soft damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
CLEANING
•Plastic pieces: all top-rack dishwasher safe. Dry before use.
•Brewing vessel: dishwasher safe. Dry before placing back in base.
•Never submerge the base in water.
STORAGE
•Keep device in a safe place, away from water and heat.
•Make sure cord is coiled to prevent damage.
•Keep away from edges where it may drop, harming you and
damaging the machine.

NOTE: do not use alkaline or abrasive cleaning agents, steel wool,
or scouring pads on any part of the brewing vessel as these can
damage the device surfaces.
NOTE: never submerge the base of the device in water or any
other liquid. Also, the brewing vessel must be completely dry and
clean before placing back on the base.
NOTE: the sieve, lid and stirrer are all dishwasher safe (top shelf
only). The brewing vessel is also dishwasher safe. However, to
preserve the life of the stirrer, this should be washed by hand.

maintenance and with you, the CRAFTers’ ease of use in
mind. In the unlikely event that you encounter any problems,
please refer to the following below.

Please do not continue to use the machine to avoid further
damage.
Please refer to the following for other concerns you may have.
•“My machine has a humm.” It is normal for your machine to make a
humming noise from the cooling fans and the rotating stirrer as well as
from the water when it boils.
•“My tea doesn’t taste right.” Check to make sure your brewing vessel is
clean of any ingredients or milk prior to operation. Also check your
water quality.
•“My tea tastes like metal.” The materials used to construct the brewing
vessel and its components do not change the avor of infusions. This
may be an issue with your water.
•“My brewing vessel has tea stains in it.” As long as you clean your
brewing vessel thoroughly, these tea stains do not pose a risk to you or
the quality of your infusion. You can use specialty cleaners to remove
these stains.
•“It smells like something’s burning.” Check to make sure at least 1 cup
(250mL) of water or milk is in the brewing vessel. Also check to ensure
that the airow through the vents in the base and rear are not impeded.
Be careful, as your machine may be hot.
•“It takes a long time to heat the water/steep my tea.” If the machine is
taking more time than specied in the instructions to heat the water or
is steeping the tea longer than you specied, contact customer
support at [email protected] or [email protected]
