When you are ready to drive
to
your first destination, prepare the Dash Express
for the trip:
•Mount the Dash Express on your dashboard
or
windshield and connect the
power supply as shown
in
the Installation Guide.
•Make sure your car
is
parked outside,
in
alocation with aclear view
of
the
sky.
It
takes afew minutes the first time you turn on the Dash Express for
it
to receive information from GPS
satellites-longer
if
the car
is
moving.
•After powering on the Dash Express, read and accept the Dash Service
agreement and warning notice.

When you subscribe to the Dash Service you become part of the Dash Driver
Network. Drivers
in
this network, like you, automatically and anonymously
exchange the most current and accurate traffic information.
The Dash Express uses additional sources
of
traffic Information including
road sensor data and historical traffic flow data.
Live traffic information
is
automatically updated and sent to Dash drivers every
few minutes.
You
can view the most current traffic information on your route,
on
nearby highways
as
well as on minor roads.

the Dash Service
The Dash Express uses two types of wireless technologies, Wi-Fi and cellular
(GPRS),
to
connect to the Dash Service. Dash automatically switches to the
best wireless connection.

MANAGE WIFI
Manage
WiFi
The Dash Express uses Wi-Fi to get software updates. Occasionally, you may be
asked to leave your Dash Express within range of your preferred Wi-Fi access
point to automatically receive
an
update.
Cellular (GPRS)
The Dash Express connects automatically to
an
available cellular network.
Wi-Fi
The Dash Express connects automatically to any open Wi-Fi network.
To
verify
your connection status,
tap"
>
settings>
system information. (Note:
Wi-Fi
is
not available
in
some areas.)
To
connect to asecure Wi-Fi network, enter
your wireless settings directly into the Dash Express.
1.
Tap"
>
settings>
manage
WiFi, then touch one
of
the network
slots.
2.
Enter your network name (8810). Remember, network names are case
sensitive.
3.
Enter anetwork key
(if
required). Network keys may be case sensitive. The
Dash Express supports
WEP,
WPA,
and WPA2 security.
MAC Filtering
If
you use MAC filtering, you can find your Dash Express device's MAC address
by
tapping"

settings>
system information.

troubleshooting
The Dash Express screen says 'Searching for GPS'.
•
If
you just turned on your Dash Express, wait afew minutes.
•Make sure your Dash Express has
an
unobstructed view
of
the
sky.
Move
your vehicle away from buildings or other major obstructions, if necessary.
The Dash Express
is
unresponsive or 'frozen'.
Please try resetting the device:
1.
Connect the Dash Express to its power source
(AC
or 12v car adapter).
2.
Press and hold the power button for 8seconds.
This restarts the Dash Express.
The Dash Express doesn't
power
on.
•Ensure the device
is
securely fitted into its mount.
•Ensure the 12v adapter
is
securely connected to the mount and to your
car's power source.
•Ensure that your engine
is
running; then,
if
necessary, press the power
button (

)at the side of the unit.
•Verify the red
LED
is
lit
on the 12v adapter.
•
If
the red LED
is
on and there
is
still no power, take the device inside and
charge the device overnight using the AC adapter.
If
frozen.
press and
hold the
power
button
to
reset

Here's what you'll need if you want to extend
the length of the mounting arm.
Remove cradle from mounting arm
by
loosening wing nut.
Mounting arm and cradle Loosen arm extension with wrench, separate the two
pieces, and position around mounting arm. Attach cradle to mounting arm
by
tightening wing nut.
