Wahl. Sie haben ein Produkt erworben, das über viele Jahre einen Beitrag zur Verbesserung Ihrer Lebensqualität leisten
kann.
Bevor Sie dieses Gerät einsetzen, lesen Sie bitte sorgfältig die Gebrauchsanweisung.
Medizinische Erklärung für die Wirkung der Lichttherapie
Heute weiß man, dass Licht für viele physiologische Prozesse als natürlicher Zeitgeber wirkt. Das helle Licht gelangt über
die Augen und die Sehnerven in Form elektrischer Impulse zur „Inneren Uhr“ unseres Gehirns. Sie nutzt die Hell-Dunkel-
Informationen und veranlasst andere Hirnstrukturen zur rhythmischen Ausschüttung chemischer Botenstoffe. So wird
durch das sehr helle Licht die Produktion der die Stimmung positiv beeinflussenden Botenstoffe angeregt, und die
Produktion des Schlafhormons gestoppt.
Verwendungszweck der DAVITA®-Lichttherapiegeräte
Die Lichttherapiegeräte PhysioLight LD 220, LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100 können bei folgendem Krankheitsbild eingesetzt
werden:
Winterdepression
Bevor das Lichttherapiegerät verwendet wird
Bitte prüfen Sie vor Anwendung den ordnungsgemäßen Zustand des Gerätes und die Funktionssicherheit.
Das Lichttherapiegerät darf nur freistehend in trockenen, geschlossenen und nicht explosionsgefährdeten Räumen
betrieben werden. Das Gerät ist nicht geeignet für den Einsatz in der Nähe von entflammbaren anästhetischen Mischungen
mit Luft oder mit Sauerstoff oder Lachgas. Das Gehäuse sollte nicht direkt der Sonne ausgesetzt werden.
Durchführung der Lichttherapie mit dem Lichttherapiegerät
PhysioLight LD 220
Stellen Sie das Gerät auf eine ebene Fläche und stecken Sie den Stecker in eine Steckdose. Nehmen Sie in einem Abstand
von ca. 50 cm vor der PhysioLight LD 220 Platz. Die Anwendungsdauer beträgt bei diesem Abstand ca. 30 Minuten.
Wenn Sie den Drehkopf der Zeitschaltuhr im Uhrzeigersinn drehen, beginnt das Lichttherapiegerät zu leuchten. Nach
Ablauf der Anwendungsdauer schaltet sich die LD 220 automatisch aus.
Während der Anwendung sollten die Augen geöffnet sein. Sie können während der Anwendung z.B. lesen, fernsehen oder
anderen Aktivitäten nachgehen. Alle 1 – 2 Minuten sollten Sie für ein paar Sekunden direkt in das Lichttherapiegerät
schauen. Ein ununterbrochenes Starren in die Leuchte sollte vermieden werden. Wenn die eingestellte Behandlungszeit
vorbei ist, schaltet sich das Gerät automatisch aus. Es ist auch möglich, dass Gerät jederzeit auszuschalten, indem
der Drehschalter auf 0 eingestellt wird.
Wenn Sie das Lichttherapiegerät nach der Anwendung verpacken möchten, warten Sie mindestens 15 Minuten, damit es
sich abkühlen kann.
Wichtig: Die Lichttherapiegeräte dürfen nur mit den Original-Gehäuseteilen zum Schutz gegen UV-Strahlen betrieben
werden.
Durchführung der Lichttherapie mit dem Lichttherapiegeräten
PhysioLight LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100
Die LD 440 ist für die gleichzeitige von bis zu 2 Personen konzipiert; die LD 880 von bis zu 3 Personen und die LD 1100
von bis zu 4 Personen. Die Anwendung erfolgt in einem Abstand von ca. 65 cm vor dem Gerät. Die Anwendungsdauer bei

diesem Abstand und voller Lichtleistung beträgt ca. 30 Minuten. Wenn Sie den seitlich am Gehäuse platzierten Drehknopf
der Zeitschaltuhr im Uhrzeigersinn drehen, beginnt das Lichttherapiegerät zu leuchten: Voraussetzung der Drehschalter
an der Front des Gerätes befindet sich in Stellung 1 – jede zweite Lampe leuchtet oder Stellung 2 – alle Lampen leuchten.
In Stellung 0 leuchtet, auch bei laufender Zeitschaltuhr keine Lampe.
Während der Anwendung sollten die Augen geöffnet sein. Sie können während der Anwendung z.B. lesen, fernsehen oder
anderen Aktivitäten nachgehen. Alle 1 – 2 Minuten sollten Sie für ein paar Sekunden direkt in das Lichttherapiegerät
schauen. Ein ununterbrochenes Starren in die Leuchte sollte vermieden werden. Wenn die eingestellte Behandlungszeit
vorbei ist, schaltet sich das Gerät automatisch aus. Es ist auch möglich, dass Gerät jederzeit auszuschalten, indem

Wichtig: Die Lichttherapiegeräte dürfen nur mit den Original-Gehäuseteilen zum Schutz gegen UV-Strahlen betrieben
werden.
Betrieb der Lichttherapiegeräte mit dem DAVITON®
Der DAVITON® (Zubehör, nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) gibt nach dem Einschalten alle 90 Sekunden einen Signalton
von 3 Sekunden Dauer ab. Während dieser Zeit sollten Sie direkt in die Lichtquelle schauen.
Befestigung der Lichttherapiegeräte LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100
an der Wand
Bei den Lichttherapiegeräten PhysioLight LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100 erfolgt eine Befestigung des jeweiligen Gerätes
mittels Schrauben und Dübeln (Abstand von 505 mm bei der LD 440, Abstand von 1105 mm bei der LD 880 und Abstand
von 1405 mm bei der LD 1100) an einer ebenen Wand.
Achten Sie auf eine ausreichende Tragfähigkeit der Wand. Eventuell sind Spezialdübel (z.B. bei Trockenbauwänden)
einzusetzen. Die Installation ist von einem Elektrofachmann durchzuführen. Unter dem Gerät muss ein freier Raum von
mindestens 20 cm verbleiben. Stecken Sie die Buchse der beiliegenden Netzanschlussleitung in den Gerätestecker, der
sich rechts unten am Gehäuse befindet. Stecken Sie den Stecker in eine Schukosteckdose.
Häufigkeit und Zeitpunkt der Behandlung
Die Behandlung sollte in der Klinik oder in der Arztpraxis 2 – 3 Wochen 5 Mal pro Woche erfolgen, danach 2 – 3 Wochen
3 Mal pro Woche, im Anschluss daran je nach Bedarf, sobald die Symptome wieder auftreten. Die Anwendung zu Hause
kann insbesondere in der Herbst-/Winterzeit täglich erfolgen.
Der optimale Behandlungszeitpunkt bei der Winterdepression ist der frühe Morgen oder die Zeit des größten
Stimmungstiefs.
Nebenwirkungen und Kontraindikationen
Selten und meist nur kurz andauernd können als Nebenwirkungen der Lichttherapie Kopfschmerzen, Übelkeit, Gereiztheit
und Augenbrennen auftreten. Bei der Porphyrie, d.h. einer Stoffwechselerkrankung, die mit einer Störung des Aufbaus des
roten Blutfarbstoffes Häm einhergeht, darf keine Lichttherapie durchgeführt werden. Weitere Kontraindikationen
(Gegenanzeigen), d.h. Umstände, die die Anwendung der Lichttherapie verbieten, bestehen bisher nicht.
Bei allen Formen von Augenerkrankungen ist Vorsicht geboten, und es sollte der Augenarzt vorher aufgesucht werden.
Bei Patienten mit Lithiumbehandlung oder Medikamenten wie z.B. Fluoxetine, Imipramine u. a., die die Sensibilität des
Auges auf Licht erhöhen können, ist zusätzlich eine augenärztliche Überwachung der Lichttherapie erforderlich.
Reinigung, Wartung und Entsorgung
Die Geräte benötigen keine besondere Wartung und erfordern keine Kalibrierung. Der Hersteller verlangt nicht, dass diese
präventiven Kontrollen durch andere Personen vorgenommen werden. Qualifizierte Unternehmen / Personen können
Reparaturen oder den Austausch von Lampen an Lichttherapiegeräten durchführen. Die notwendigen technischen

Dokumente und andere Informationen können bei DAVITA® angefordert werden.
Vor dem Öffnen der Geräte sollte der Stecker aus der Steckdose gezogen werden. Zum Reinigen der äußeren
Gehäuseteile der Geräte, wird ein mildes Reinigungsmittel (wie z.B. Glasreiniger verwendet).
Verpackung: DAVITA® ist dem System „Grüner Punkt“ angeschlossen. Alle Verpackungsteile sind wieder
verwertbare Materialien und umweltfreundlich zu entsorgen. Bei den Lichttherapiegeräten PhysioLight LD 220,
LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100 besteht das Gehäuse aus gebürstetem Edelstahl. Leuchtstofflampen sowie Geräte,
die mit dem gekreuzten Mülltonnensymbol gekennzeichnet sind, dürfen nicht über den Hausmüll entsorgt
werden. Sie sind verpflichtet solche Elektro- und Elektronik-Altgeräte separat zu entsorgen. Informieren Sie sich
bitte bei Ihrer Kommune über die Möglichkeit der geregelten Entsorgung. Wenn Elektrogeräte in Deponien oder Halden
entsorgt werden, können gefährliche Stoffe in das Grundwasser und die Nahrungskette gelangen und Gesundheit und
Wohlbefinden schädigen. Für die Rücknahme und Entsorgung von Batterien gilt das Batteriegesetz. Bundesweit gibt es
Rücknahmestellen. Die Batterien sind dabei in die grünen Sammelboxen zu werfen.

Before you use the instrument, please read carefully this user manual.
Medical explanation of the effect of light therapy
Today we know that sun light acts like a natural clock for many of our physiological processes. Bright light travels in the
form of electric impulses via the eyes and the optical nerves to the nervous system’s inner timer in our brain. This “time
giver” processes the information about light and darkness and instructs other parts of the brain to rhythmically distribute
chemical messengers. Bright light thus stimulates the production of chemical messengers which influences the mood and
suppresses the production of the body’s sleep inducing hormone.
How to use the DAVITA® light therapy units
The light therapy boxes PhysioLight LD 220, LD 440, LD 880 and LD 1100 can be used against the following disease:
Winter depression
Some basic information before using the light therapy units
Before use, kindly check that the instrument is in functional order and that there is no sign of damage. The user must check
that the equipment functions safely and see that it is in proper working condition before being used. Do not position the
equipment so that it is difficult to operate the disconnection device. Phototherapy instruments must only be operated
in dry and closed rooms that are free of any explosion risks. The device is not suitable for use in the presence of flammable
anesthetic mixtures with air or with oxygen or nitrous oxide. The instruments must be standing free and should not be
exposed to sun.
How to carry out light therapy with the light therapy device
PhysioLight LD 220
Place the instrument on an even surface and connect the plug with a wall socket. Sit down in front of the instrument and
keep a distance of approx. 50 cm. The treatment time is at the above mentioned distance approx. 30 minutes. If you turn
the control knob of the timer clockwise the light therapy device begins to glow. After the preset application time has expired,
the LD 220 switches off automatically.
Keep your eyes open during the treatment. You are in the position to read, watch TV or carry out any other
activities. After every 1 – 2 minutes you should look for a few seconds into the light source. A constant staring into
the light source must be avoided. After the preset application time has run out, the instrument switches off
automatically. It is also possible to switch off the instrument by turning the timer to zero
If you want to cover the phototherapy instrument after use allow the instrument to cool down at least 15 minutes.
Important: In order to be protected against UV-rays, the light box must only be operated with its original
protective filter in place.
How to carry out light therapy with the light therapy devices
PhysioLight LD 440, LD 880 and LD 1100
One or two person(s can be simultaneously treated with the LD 440; up to three persons can be simultaneously treated
with the LD 880 and up to four persons with the LD 1100. There must be a distance of approx. 65 cm tot he devices. The
application time at this distance and with maximum luminous power is about 30 minutes.
By turning the control knob oft he timer chockwise on the device’s side, the light therapy unit begins to glow. First the
selector switch on the instrument’s front must be turned into one oft he following positions:
Position 1: every 2nd lamp is on
Position 2: all lamps are on

Position 0: no lamp is on, even when the timer is on.
Keep your eyes open during the treatment. You are in the position to read, watch TV or carry out any other
activities. After every 1 – 2 minutes you should look for a few seconds into the light source. A constant staring into
the light source must be avoided. After the preset application time has run out, the instrument switches off
automatically. It is also possible to switch off the instrument by turning the timer to zero

Operation of the light therapy units with the DAVITON®
The activated DAVITON® (not included) reminds you with an acoustical signal every 90 sec for 3 sec to look into the light
source.
Mounting the light therapy devices LD 440, LD 880 and LD 1100 on the wall
The light therapy devices Physiolight LD 440, the LD 880 and the LD 1100 can be fastened with screws and dowels on a
flat wall (a distance of 505 mm for the LD 440, a distance of 1105 mm for the LD 880 and a distance of 1405 mm for the
LD 1100).
A sufficient substainability of the wall is necessary. You may have to use special fixings (for example if drywall walls are
used). The installation has to be carried out by a qualified electrician. Under the device a free space of at least 20 cm must
be left. Plug the female connector of the supplied power supply cable into the connector, located on the right bottom of the
housing. Insert the male connector into a schuko plug socket.
Frequency and time of treatment
If the treatment takes place in a clinic or in the doctor’s surgery it should initially be carried out 5 times per week for a period
of 2 – 3 weeks; thereafter, 3 times per week for a period of 2 – 3 weeks. After that, the treatment should take place as
needed or when the symptoms occur again. At home, the treatment can take place daily, especially during autumn and
winter time. The best treatment time for winter depression is the early morning or the time of the lowest mood.
Side effects and contraindications
By using phototherapy the following side effects have been observed: Headaches, nausea, irritability and burning of the
eyes can occur rarely for a short period. In case of porphyria, i.e. a metabolic disorder that is associated with a disturbance
of the formation of red blood pigment heme, it is not allowed to treat with light therapy. Other contraindications, i.e.,
circumstances that prohibit the use of light therapy, are not known so far.
Please take care in case of all types of eye diseases and the eye specialist should be consulted before. In case of patients
being under treatment with lithium or medicine for example Fluoxetine, Imipramine et al., which increase the sensibility of
the eyes on light a supervision of the light therapy by an eye specialist could be considered.
Cleaning, maintenance and recycling
The instruments do not need any special maintenance and requires no calibration. The manufacturer does not require such
preventive inspections by other persons. Qualified companies / individuals can make repairs to the light therapy devices.
The necessary technical documents and other information can be requested by DAVITA®. The mains have to be
disconnected, before opening the devices. To clean the outer casing parts of the devices, we recommend a mild cleaning
agent (as used for glass).
Packaging: DAVITA® takes part in the system „Grüner Punkt“ („Green Point“). All packaging parts are made out
of recyclable materials and must be recycled in accordance of the guideless concerning each material (eco-
friendly). The PhysioLight LD 220, LD 440, LD 880 and LD 1100 have a casing out of stainless steel.
Fluorescent lamps as well as instruments marked with the symbol of a crossed out dustbin may not be disposed via the
regular garbage. The electrical and electronic components must be recycled separately. Please get in touch with your local
authority to find the right way to of disposal. If electrical appliance is disposed of in landfills or dumps, hazardous substances

can leak into the groundwater and get into the food chain, damaging your health and well-being. For the return and disposal
of batteries the battery law is valid. National wide there are re-sampling points. The batteries must be thrown into the green
collection boxes.

Explications médicales sur les effets de la luminothérapie
On sait aujourd’hui que la lumière es tun facteur de temps naturel pour de nombreux processus physiologiques.
La lumière claire gagne „l’horloge intérieure“ de notre cerveau par l’oeil et les nerfs optiques sous la forme
d’impulsions électriques. Elle utilise les informations clair-foncé et incite les autres structures du cerveau à
délivrer rythmiquement leurs messages chimiques. C’est ainsi que la lumière très claire incite à la production des
substances qui influencent positivement l’humeur et que la production de l’hormone du sommeil est stoppée.
Utilisation des appareils de luminothérapie
Les appareils de thérapie à la lumière LD 220, LD 440, LD 880 et LD 1100 peuvent être utilisé pur les symptômes
de la maladie suivants:

Avant la mise en service
Avant l’utilisation de l’appareil, nous vous prions de bien vouloir vérifier que son état soit bien réglementaire et vous assurer
de sa sécurité de fonctionnement. Veuillez svp vérifier que l’appareil fonctionne en toute sécurité et que son état soit
impeccable avant de l’utiliser. L’appareil de luminothérapie est à utiliser de telle sorte à ce que son branchement puisse
être retiré facilement de l’alimentation sur secteur.
L’appareil de luminothérapie ne peut être utilisé que dans des endroits secs, fermés et non dangereux. L’appareil n’est
pas adapté à une utilisation à proximité de mélanges inflammables et anésthésiques avec l’air, de l’oxygène ou du
protoxyde d’azote. L’appareil doit être libre d’accès et ne pas être placé directement au soleil.
Realisation de la thérapie à la lumière avec
l’appareil de luminothérapie PhysioLight LD 220
Placez l’appareil sur une surface plane et branchez la fiche secteur à une prise de courant. Prenez place à une distance
d’env. 50 cm devant l’appareil. La durée de l’utilisation à cet écartement s’élève à env. 30 minutes. La durée d’utilisation
peut aussi être obtenue par plusieurs séances pendant une même journée. Si vous réglez le commutateur à bascule des
appareils sur „Marche” , les appareils s’éclairent.
Pendant l’utilisation, vous devez conserver les yeux ouverts. Vous pouvez p. ex. lire, regarder la télévison ou entreprendre
d’autres activités pendant l’application.
Nous vous conseillons de regarder directement dans l’appareil de thérapie à la lumière pendant quelques secondes toutes
les une à une minute et demie. Il faut toutefois éviter de fixer constamment la lampe. Après écoulement de la durée
d’utilisation, mettez les appareils hors service à l’aide du commutateur à bascule.
Si vous souhaitez ranger les appareils de thérapie à la lumière après leur utilisation, attendez au moins 15 minutes pour
qu’ils refroidissent légèrement.
Important: L’appareil de luminothérapie ne doit être utilisé qu’avec les pièces d’origine pour la protection contre
les rayons UV.
Realisation de la thérapie à la lumière avec les appareils de
luminothérapie PhysioLight LD 440, LD 880 et LD 1100
Avec l’appareil LD 440, jusqu‘ á deux personnes peuvent jouir de traitement simultanée, avec le modèle LD 880 jusqu‘ á
trois personnes et avec le modèle LD 1100 jusqu‘ á quatre personnes. L’utilisateur doit prendre place à une distance d’env.
65 cm devant l’appareil. La durée de la séance de traitement á cet écartement est de l’ordre d’env. 30 minutes.

La durée de traitement de 30 minutes peut être obtenue par plusieurs séances pendant une même journée.
L’appareil s’allume lorsque l’on met le commutateur á bascule de l‘appareil en marche, qui est situé au côté latéral du
boîtier.
Condition préalable: le commutateur situé au côté frontal de l’appareil est en:
Position 1 – la lampe s’allume á chaque seconde
Position 2 – toute lampe s’allume
Position 0 – la lampe ne s’allume pas même si le commutateur en marche.
Il faut ouvrir les yeux lors du traitement. Ainsi l’utilisteur peut, par exemple, lire, regarder la télévision ou se dévouer á
d’autres activités. Nous vous conseillons de regarder directement dans l’appareil de thérapie à la lumière pendant quelques
secondes toutes les une à une minute et dermie. Il faut toutefois éviter de fixer constamment la lampe. Après écoulement
de la durée d’utilisation, mettez les appareils hors service à l’aide du commutateur à bascule tout en le mettant en position
„0“.
Important: L’appareil de luminothérapie ne doit être utilisé qu’avec les pièces d’origine pour la protection contre
les rayons UV.
Réalisation de les appareils de luminothérapie avec le DAVITON®
Le DAVITON® (accessoire ne faisant pas partie de la livraison) émet un signal sonore durant 3 secondes à chaque 90
secondes pour rappeler l’utilisateur de regarder directement dans l’appareil.
Fixation murale des appareils de luminothérapie
PhysioLight LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100
Placer l’appareil PhysioLight LD 440, LD 880 et LD 1100 sur un mur platt out utilisant les clous inclus et le commutateur
(LD 440: distance de 505 mm, LD 800: distance 1105 mm et LD 1100: distance 1405 mm). Le mur doit être capable de
supporter le poids de l’appareil. Dépendant des cas, l’utilisation d’un commutateur spécial pourrait se faire nécessaire.
Dans ce cas, L‘ installation doit être effectuée par un technicien qualifié. Sous l’appareil, veuillez á ce que un espace libre
de 20 cm minimum soit assuré. Branchez la fiche secteur á une prise femelle de l’appareil, qui est située á la droite du
bouton du boîtier. La prise doit être par la suite connectée á la prise de courant murale.
Fréquence et moment d’utilisation
Le traitement en cabinet médical devrait avoir lieu 5 fois par semaine pendant 2 à 5 semaines plus 3 fois par semaine
pendant 2 à 3 semaines et enfin, selon les besoins, dès que les symptômes réapparaissent. L’utilisation des appareils chez
soi doit se faire quotidiennement notamment pendant l’automne et l’hiver.
Le moment optimal du traitement en cas de dépression hivernale est le matin de bonne heure ou la période de la plus
grande baisse d’humeur.
Effets secondaires et contre-indications
Les effets secondaires de la thérapie à la lumière sont rares et ne durent que brièvement; il s’agit entre autres de maux de
tête, de nausées, d’irritabilité et de picotements des yeux. La luminothérapie ne doit pas être pratiquée en cas de porphyrie,
c'est-à-dire de troubles du métabolisme s'accompagnant de troubles de la production de l'oxyhémoglobine rouge. D'autres
contre-indications, soit d'autres circonstances interdisant la pratique de la luminothérapie ne sont pas connues à ce jour.
Une précaution toute particulière s’impose toutefois pour toutes les formes de maladies des yeux et il est préférable de
consulter au préalable un ophtalmologiste. Un contrôle ophtalmologique supplémentaire est nécessaire pour les patients
traités au lithium et prenant des médicaments susceptibles d’accroître la sensibilité de L’œil à la lumière.
Nettoyage, entretien et recyclage
Les appareils ne nécessitent pas une maintenance particulière et n'exigent aucun calibrage. Le fabricant n'exige pas que
ces contrôles préventifs soient réalisés par d'autres personnes. Seules des sociétés/personnes qualifiées
peuvent effectuer des travaux de réparation ou de remplacement des lampes sur des appareils de
luminothérapie. Les documents techniques nécessaires ainsi que des informations complémentaires peuvent

être fournis par DAVITA®.
Avant l'ouverture des appareils, la fiche doit être retirée de la prise. Pour le nettoyage de la partie externe du boîtier, utiliser
un détergeant doux (ex.: nettoyant vitres). Merci d’appliquer les consignes suivantes: Les produits DAVITA® sont emballés
selon le système „point vert“. Chaque emballage est réutilisable et bio-dégradable. Les produits PhysioLight LD 220, LD
440, LD 880 et LD 1100 sont composés d’une coque en
inox brossé.
Les tubes fluorescents ainsi que les appareils marqués du symbole ne peuvent pas être jetés dans les ordures
traditionnelles, mais doivent être détruits au même titre que les appareils électriques et électroniques. Prière de vous
renseigner auprès de votre commune afin de connaître les possibilités de destruction de ces appareils. Dans le cas où les
appareils électriques sont mis au rebus dans des décharges ou dans des dépôts, de très dangereuses substances peuvent
s'introduire dans la nappe phréatique et dans la chaîne alimentaire, causant ainsi des dégâts pour la santé ainsi que pour
le bien-être. La collecte et le traitement des piles sont régis par la loi relative aux piles et accumulateurs. Ceux-ci sont à
déposer dans les points de collecte répartis sur le territoire dans les bacs prévus à cet effet.
