Heute weiß man, dass Licht für viele physiologische Prozesse als natürlicher Zeitgeber wirkt.
Das helle Licht gelangt über das Auge und die Sehnerven in Form elektrischer Impulse zur
„inneren Uhr“ unseres Gehirns.
Diese nutzt die Hell-Dunkel-Informationen und veranlasst andere Hirnstrukturen zur rhythmi-
schen Ausschüttung chemischer Botenstoffe. So wird durch das sehr helle Licht die Produktion
der die Stimmung positiv beeinflussenden Botenstoffe angeregt und die Produktion des Schlaf-
hormons gestoppt.
Die Lichttherapiegeräte LD 72, LD 110, LD 220, LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100 können bei fol-
genden Krankheitsbildern eingesetzt werden:
1. Winterdepressionen
2. Nicht saisonal abhängige Depressionen
3. Prämenstruelles Syndrom („PMS“, „Tage vor den Tagen“)
4. Schlafstörungen
Bitte prüfen Sie vor Anwendung den ordnungsgemäßen Zustand des Gerätes und die Funk-
tionssicherheit. Die Lüftungsschlitze des Gerätes sind freizuhalten. Das Lichttherapiegerät darf
nur freistehend in trockenen, geschlossenen und nicht explosionsgefährdeten Räumen betrie-
ben werden. Das Gehäuse nicht direkt der Sonne aussetzen.
Bei den Lichttherapiegeräten LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100 erfolgt eine Befestigung des jewei-
ligen Gerätes mittels der beiliegenden Schrauben und Dübel (Abstand von 505 mm bei der
LD 440, Abstand von 1105 mm bei der LD 880 und Abstand von 1405 mm bei der LD 1100) an
einer ebenen Wand. Achten Sie auf eine ausreichende Tragfähigkeit der Wand. Evtl. sind Spe-
zialdübel (z.B. bei Trockenbauwänden) einzusetzen. Die Installation ist von einem Elektrofach-
mann durchzuführen.
Unter dem Gerät muss ein freier Raum von mindestens 20 cm verbleiben. Stecken Sie die
Buchse der beiliegenden Netzanschlussleitung in den Gerätestecker, der sich rechts unten am
Gehäue befindet. Stecken Sie den Stecker in eine Schuko-Steckdose.
Stellen Sie das Gerät auf eine ebene Fläche und stecken Sie den Stecker in eine Steckdose.
Nehmen Sie in einem Abstand von ca. 55 cm bei der LD 72 und einen Abstand von ca. 45 cm
bie der LD 110 vor dem Gerät Platz. Die Anwendungsdauer bei der LD 72 beträgt ca. 2 Stunden.
Die Anwendungsdauer bie der LD 110 beträgt ca. 1 Stunde.
Wenn Sie den Wippschalter am Gerät auf “Ein” stellen, beginnt es zu leuchten. Nach Ablauf der
Anwendungsdauer schalten Sie das Gerät
wieder aus.
Stellen Sie das Gerät auf eine ebene Fläche und stecken Sie den Stecker in eine Steckdose.
Nehmen Sie in einem Abstand von ca. 50 cm vor der PhysioLight LD 220 Platz. Die Anwen-
dungsdauer beträgt bei der LD 220 ca. 1/2 Stunde. Wenn Sie den Drehknopf der Zeitschaltuhr
im Uhrzeigersinn drehen, beginnt das Lichttherapiegerät zu leuchten. Nach Ablauf der einge-
stellten Anwendungsdauer schaltet sich das Gerät automatisch wieder aus.
Während der Anwendung sollten die Augen geöffnet sein. Sie können während der Anwendung
z.B. lesen, fernsehen oder anderen Aktivitäten nachgehen. Alle 1 – 2 Minuten sollten Sie für ein
paar Sekunden direkt in die Lichtquelle schauen. Ein ununterbrochenes “Starren” in die Licht-
quelle sollte vermieden werden. Die jeweilige Anwendungsdauer kann auch durch mehrere Sit-
zungen während des Tages erreicht werden.
Wenn Sie das Lichttherapiegerät nach der Anwendung verpacken wollen, warten Sie minde-
stens 15 Minuten, damit es sich abkühlen kann.
Wichtig: Die Lichttherapiegeräte dürfen nur mit den Original-Gehäuseteilen zum Schutz gegen
UV-Strahlen betrieben werden.

Die LD 440 ist für die gleichzeitige Lichttherapie von bis zu zwei Personen konzipiert; die LD 880
von bis zu drei Personen und die LD 1100 von bis zu vier Personen. Die Anwendung erfolgt in
einem Abstand von ca. 65 cm vor dem Gerät. Die Anwendungsdauer bei diesem Abstand und
voller Lichtleistung beträgt ca 1/2 Stunde.
Wenn Sie den seitlich am Gehäuse platzierten Drehknopf der Zeitschaltuhr im Uhrzeigersinn
drehen, beginnt das Lichttherapiegerät zu leuchten. Voraussetzung: Der Drehschalter an der
Front des Gerätes befindet sich in: Stellung 1 - jede zweite Lampe leuchtet, oder Stellung 2 - alle
Lampen leuchten. In Stellung 0 leuchtet, auch bei laufender Zeitschaltuhr, keine Lampe.
Während der Anwendung sollten die Augen geöffnet sein. Die Patienten können während der
Anwendung z.B. lesen oder anderen Aktivitäten nachgehen. Alle 1 - 2 Minuten sollten die
Anwender für ein paar Sekunden direkt in das Lichttherapiegerät schauen. Ein ununterbroche-
nes Starren in die Leuchte sollte vermieden werden. Nach Ablauf der an der Zeitschaltuhr ein-
gestellen Anwendungsauer schaltet sich das Gerät selbständig ab. Sie können das Gerät auch
abschalten, indem Sie die Zeitschaltuhr auf 0 drehen.
Wichtig: Die Lichttherapiegeräte PhysioLight LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100 dürfen jeweils nur
mit einer Original Schutzscheibe betrieben werden.
Das Lichttherapiegerät PhysioLight LD 220 kann in Verbindung mit einem Bodenstativ (Zubehör,
nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) eingesetzt werden.
Die Lichttherapiegeräte LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100 können ebenfalls in Verbindung mit einem
Bodenstativ (Zubehör, nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) eingesetzt werden. Die Montage der
PhysioLight LD 220, LD 440, LD 880 und LD 1100 an das Bodenstativ entnehmen Sie bitte der
dem Stativ beiliegenden Beschreibung. Der DAVITON®(Zubehör, nicht im Lieferumfang enthal-
ten) gibt nach dem Einschalten alle 90 Sekunden einen Signalton von 3 Sekunden Dauer ab und
erinnert daran, in die Lichtquelle zu schauen.
Die Behandlung in der Arztpraxis sollte 2-3 Wochen 5-mal pro Woche erfolgen, danach 2-3
Wochen 3-mal pro Woche, im Anschluss daran, je nach Bedarf, sobald die Symptome wieder
auftreten. Die Anwendung zu Hause kann insbesondere in der Herbst-/Winterzeit täglich erfol-
gen. Der optimale Behandlungszeitpunkt bei der Winterdepression ist der frühe Morgen oder
die Zeit des größten Stimmungstiefs. Das Prämenstruelle Syndrom PMS („Tage vor denTagen“)
und das vorverlagerte Schlafphasensyndrom (sehr frühes Schlafengehen und sehr frühes Auf-
wachen) werden am effektivsten am Abend, das rückverlagerte Schlafphasensyndrom (sehr
spätes Schlafengehen und sehr spätes Aufwachen) am Morgen behandelt.
Selten und meist nur kurz andauernd können als Nebenwirkungen der Lichttherapie Kopf-
schmerzen, Übelkeit, Gereiztheit und Augenbrennen auftreten.
Eine absolute Kontraindikation besteht bisher nicht.
Bei allen Formen von Augenerkrankungen ist Vorsicht geboten, und es sollte der Augenarzt vor-
her aufgesucht werden. Bei Patienten mit Lithiumbehandlung und Medikamenten, die die Sen-
sibilität des Auges auf Licht erhöhen können, ist zusätzlich eine augenärztliche Überwachung
der Lichttherapie erforderlich.
Eine besondere Wartung der Geräte ist nicht erforderlich. Zur Reinigung der Geräte (Gehäuse-
flächen) sollten haushaltsübliche, milde Reinigungsmittel (z.B. Glasreiniger) verwendet werden.
Der Netzstecker ist vorher aus der Steckdose zu ziehen. Falls Leuchtmittel ausgetauscht wer-
den müssen, lassen Sie diese durch einen Fachmann austauschen.
Verpackung: DAVITA®ist dem System „Grüner Punkt“ angeschlossen. Alle Verpackungsteile
sind wieder verwertbare Materialien und umweltfreundlich zu entsorgen. Bei der LD 72 und LD
110 besteht das Gehäuse aus Polystyrol (PS), die vordere Abdeckung aus Polymethylmet-
hacrylat (PMMA). Die Gehäuse der Physiolight LD 220 - LD 1100 bestehen aus einem gebür-
steten Edelstahl. Leuchtstofflampen sowie Geräte die mit dem gekreuzten Mülltonnensymbol
gekennzeichnet sind, dürfen nicht über den Hausmüll entsorgt werden. Sie sind verpflichtet,
solche Elektro- und Elektronik-Altgeräte separat zu entsorgen. Informieren Sie sich bitte bei Ihrer
Kommune über die Möglichkeit der geregelten Entsorgung.
DAVITA®übernimmt für dieses Gerät eine Garantie für die Dauer von 24 Monaten ab Verkaufs-
datum. Diese Garantie gilt für Material- und Fabrikationsfehler und schließt sowohl die Ersatz-
teile als auch die Arbeitsleistung ein. Die Garantie verfällt, wenn das Gerät beschädigt, nicht
sachgemäß benutzt oder unbefugte Eingriffe vorgenommen wurden. Bitte heben Sie den Kauf-
beleg (z.B. Kassenzettel) unbedingt auf und reichen Sie ihn im Garantiefall mit ein, weil DAVITA®
nur dann eine Garantieleistung erbringen kann. Leuchtmittel sind grundsätzlich von der Garantie
ausgeschlossen.

Today we know that sun light acts like a natural clock for many of our physiological processes.
Bright light travels in the form of electric impulses via the eyes and the optical nerves to the
nervous system’s inner zeitgeber in our brain.This “time giver” processes the information about
light and darkness and instructs other parts of the brain to rhythmically distribute chemical
messengers. Bright light thus stimulates the production of chemical messengers which
influence the mood and suppresses the production of the body’s sleep inducing hormone.
The light therapy units LD 72 / LD 110 / LD 220 / LD 440 / LD 880 and LD 1100 can be used for
the following symptoms:
1. winter depression
2. non-seasonal depressions
3. premenstrual syndrome („PMS“)
4. sleep disorders
Before use, kindly check that the instrument is in functional order.
If there is any sign of dama ge,
immediately contact your reseller. Make sure the ventilation slits are clear of any objects
obstructing them. Phototherapy Instruments must only be operated in dry and closed rooms
that are free of any explosion risks. The instruments must be free standing andmust not be
exposed to sun.
The Phototherapy Instruments LD 440, LD 880 and LD 1100 are fixed to a flat wall with the
screws and plugs included (LD 440 - distance of 505 mm, LD 880 - distance of 1105 mm and
LD 1100 - distance of 1405 mm). Make sure the wall has the appropriate load-bearing capacity.
If required, special plugs must be used
(in case of cavety walls). Please note that any installation
work should be carried out by an electrician.
An open space of at least 20 cm must be left underneath the instrument. Please connect the
enclosed power cable into the instrument’s plug connector located on the lower right side of
the housing. Connect the other end of the cable to an earthed wall socket.
Place the instrument on an even surface and connect the plug with a wall socket. Sit down in
front of the instrument keeping a distance of approx. 55 cm / LD 72 and 45 cm / LD 110. The
application time is approx. 2 hours / LD 72 and 1 hour / LD 110. Move the tilting switch to „ON“
and the instrument glows. After the application time, switch off the instrument.
Place the instrument on an even surface and put the plug into a wall socket. Sit down in front
of the instrument and keep a distance of approx. 50 cm in case of the PhysioLight LD 220. The
treatment time with LD 220 is approx. 30 minutes. By turning the control knob of the timer
clockwise the Phototherapy instrument begins to glow. After the preset application time has
expired, the instrument switches off automatically.
Keep your eyes open during the treatment. You are in a position to read, watch TV or carry out
any other activity.
After every 1 - 2 minutes, you should look for a few seconds into the light source. A constant
staring into the light source must be avoided. The daily application time can be split into
several treatments per day. If you want to cover the Phototherapy instrument after use, allow
the instrument to cool down, at least 15 minutes.
Important: In order to be protected against UV-rays, the Phototherapy instrument must only be
operated with its original protective filter in place.

One or two person/s can be simultaneously treated with the LD 440 instrument; up to three
persons can be simultaneously treated with the LD 880 and up to four persons with the LD 1100
instrument.There must be a distance of approx. 65 cm to the instruments.The application time
at this distance and with maximum luminous power is about 30 minutes.
By turning the control knob of the timer clockwise on the instrument’s side, the Phototherapy
instrument begins to glow. First the selector switch on the instrument’s front must be turned
into one of the following positions:
Position 1: every 2nd lamp is on
Position 2: all lamps are on
Position 0: no lamp is on, even when the timer is on.
Keep your eyes open during application. You can read or carry out other activities during the
treatment. Every 1 or 2 minutes you should look directly into the phototherapy instrument for a
few seconds. Constant staring into the instrument should be avoided. After the preset
application time has run out, the instrument switches off automatically. It is also possible to
switch off the instrument by turning the timer to zero.
Important: the Phototherapy Instruments PhysioLight LD 440, LD 880 and LD 1100 must be
operated with the original protective filter in place.
The light therapy unit PhysioLight LD 220 can be used together with a tripod (not included).
Also the light therapy units LD 440, LD 880 and LD 1100 can be used in connection with a
tripod (not included). The supply of the tripod includes a description on how to instal the
PhysioLight LD 220, LD 440, LD 880 and LD 1100 to the tripod.
The activated Daviton®(not included) reminds you with an acoustic signal every 90 sec for 3 sec
to look into the light source.
If the treatment takes place at your practitioner it should initially be carried out 5 times per week
for a period of 2 - 3 weeks; thereafter, 3 times per week for a period of 2 - 3 weeks. After that,
treatment should take place as needed or when the symptoms occur again. At home, the
treatment can take place daily, especially during autumn and winter time. The best treatment
time for winter depression is the early morning or the time of the lowest mood. The
premenstrual syndrome PMS is treated most effectively in the evening. As for abnormal shifts
in a person’s day-and-night rhythm (circadian rhythm), i.e. going to bed very early and very early
awakening ) there are two ways of treating them: if you go to bed very early and get up very
early, treatment is most effective in the evening. If you go to bed very late and wake up very
late, treatment is best in the morning.
By using phototherapy the following side effects have been observed: Headaches, nausea,
irritability and burning of the eyes can occur for a short period. Caution is recommended for all
kinds of eye diseases and an eye specialist should be consulted first. Patients who are being
treated with lithium or medicine that can increase the eye’s sensitivity towards light, should
additionally be supervised by an eye specialist when undergoing phototherapy treatment.
An absolute contraindication is not known so far.
The instruments do not need any special maintenance. To clean the outer casing parts of the
instrument, we recommend a mild cleansing agent (as used for glass). First, please disconnect
the power supply. If lamps must be replaced, this should be carried out by an electrician.
Packaging: DAVITA®partakes in the German recycling system „Grüner Punkt“ (“Green Point”).
All packaging parts are made of recycable materials and must be recycled in accordance with
the guidelines concerning each material (eco-friendly). The casing of the LD 72 and LD 110
instruments is made of polystyrene (PS), and the front cover is
made of polymethylmethacrylate
(PMMA). The casings of the Physiolight LD 220 - LD 1100 instruments are made of brushed
stainless steel.
Fluorescent lamps as well as instruments marked with the symbol of a crossed out dustbin may
not be disposed via the regular garbage. The electrical and electronic components must
be
recycled separately. Please get in touch with your local authority to find the right way of disposal.
DAVITA®guarantees for this instrument for a period of 24 months after date of sale. The
guarantee is valid for material defects and manufacturing faults and includes the provision of
spare parts as well as labour. Guarantee expires if the instrument has been damaged or used
improperly or unauthorized intervention was carried out. Please keep the purchase receipt as
proof and submit it togehter with you claim for guarantee. DAVITA®will only fulfil the guarantee
upon receipt of your purchase proof. Lamps are generally excluded from the guarantee.

On sait aujourd’hui que la lumière est un facteur de temps naturel pour de nombreux
processus physiologiques. La lumière claire gagne “l’horloge intérieure” de notre cerveau par
l’oeil et les nerfs optiques sous la forme d’impulsions électriques. Elle utilise les informations
clair-foncé et incite les autres structures du cerveau à délivrer rythmiquement leurs messages
chimiques. C’est ainsi que la lumière très claire incite à la production des substances qui
influencent positivement l’humeur et que la production de l’hormone du sommeil est stoppée.
Les appareils de thérapie à la lumière LD 72 / LD 110 / LD 220 / LD 440 / LD 880 et LD 1100
peuvent être utilisés pur les symptômes de maladies suivants:
1. dépression hivernale
2. dépression non saisonnière
3. syndrome prémenstruel (“PMS”, “jours avant les règles“)
4. troubles du sommeil
Veuillez contrôler l’état correct de l’appareil avant son utilisation ainsi que sa sécurité au
fonctionnement. Les fentes d’aération de l’appareil ne doivent pas être bouchées. L’appareil de
thérapie à la lumière doit uniquement être mis en marche dans des pièces sèches et fermées.
Le boîtier ne doit pas être directement exposé au soleil. Placer l´appareil DL 44 / LD 880 et LD
1100 sur un mur plat tout utilisant les clous inclus et le commutateur (LD 440: distance de 505
mm, LD 800: distance 1105 mm et LD 1100: distance 1405 mm). Le mur doit être capable de
supporter le poids de l´appareil. Dépendant des cas, l´utilisation d´un commutateur spécial
pourrait se faire nécessaire. Dans ce cas, l´ installation doit être effectuée par un technicien
qualifié. Sous l´appareil, veuillez á ce que un espace libre de 20 cm minimum soit assuré.
Branchez la fiche secteur á une prise femelle de l´appareil, qui est située á la droite du bouton
du boîtier. La prise doit être par la suite connectée á la prise de courant murale.
Placez l’appareil sur une surface plane et branchez la fiche secteur à une prise de courant.
Prenez place à une distance d’env. 55 cm LD 72 et 45 cm LD 110 devant l’appareil. La durée de
l’utilisation à cet é cartement s’élève à env. 2 heures LD 72 et 1 heures LD 110. La durée d’uti-
lisation 2 / 1 heures peut aussi être obtenue par plusieurs séances pendant une même journée.
Si vous réglez le commutateur à bascule des appareils sur “Marche“, les appareils s’éclairent.
Pendant l’utilisation, vous devez conserver les yeux ouverts. Vous pouvez p. ex. lire, regarder la
télévision ou entreprendre d’autres activités pendant l’application.Nous vous conseillons de
regarder directement dans l’appareil de thérapie à la lumière pendant quelques secondes tou-
tes les une à une minute et demie. Il faut toutefois éviter de fixer constamment la lampe. Après
écoulement de la durée d’utilisation, mettez les appareils hors service à l’aide du commutateur
à bascule. Si vous souhaitez ranger les appareils de thérapie à la lumière après leur utilisation,
attendez au moins 15 minutes pour qu’ils refroidissent légèrement.

Avec l´appareil LD 440, jusqu´ á deux personnes peuvent jouir de traitement simultanée, avec
le modèle LD 880 jusqu´ á trois personnes et avec le modèle LD 1100 jusqu´ á personnes.
L´utilisateur doit prendre place à une distance d´env. 65 cm devant l´ appareil. La durée de la
séance de traitement á cet écartement est de l´ordre d´env. 30 minutes. La durée de
traitement de 30 minutes peut être obtenue par plusieurs séances pendant une même journée.
L´appareil s´allume lorsque l´on met le commutateur á bascule de l´ appareil en marche, qui est
situé au côté latéral du boîtier.
Condition préalable: le commutateur situé au côté frontal de l´appareil est en :
Position 1 – la lampe s´allume á chaque seconde
Position 2 - toute lampe s´allume
Position 0 – la lampe ne s´allume pas même si le commutateur en marche.
Il faut ouvrir les yeux lors du traitement. Ainsi l´utilisateur peut, par exemple, lire, regarder la
télévision ou se dévouer á d´autres activités. Nous vous conseillons de regarder directement
dans l’appareil de thérapie à la lumière pendant quelques secondes toutes les une à une
minute et demie. Il faut toutefois éviter de fixer constamment la lampe. Après écoulement de
la durée d’utilisation, mettez les appareils hors service à l’aide du commutateur à bascule tout
en le mettant en position « O ». Important: l´usage de l´appareil n´est
permis qu´avec l´utilisation
lunettes de protection diaphanes aux rayons originales.
l´ appareil de luminothérapie PhysioLight LD 220 peut être utilisé avec un support de sol
(accessoire ne faisant pas partie de la livraison). Pour le montage de l´appareil avec un support
de sol, veuillez faire usage des deux clous joints, type M5 x 25. Eviter d´utiliser des clous plus
longs. Les appareils de luminothérapie PhysioLight LD 440 / LD 880 et LD 1100 peuvent être
aussi utilises avec un support de sol (accessoire ne faisant pas partie de la livraison). Pour le
montage des ces appareils avec un support de sol, veuillez consulter le mode d´emploi joint en
annexe.
Le DAVITON®(accessoire ne faisant pas partie de la livraison) émet un signal sonore durant 3
secondes á chaque 90 secondes pour rappeler l´utilisateur de regarder directement dans
l´appareil.
Le traitement en cabinet médical devrait avoir lieu 5 fois par semaine pendant 2 à 5 semaines
plus 3 fois par semaine pendant 2 à 3 semaines et enfin, selon les besoins, dès que les
symptômes réapparaissent. L’utilisation des appareils chez soi doit se faire quotidiennement
notamment pendant l’automne et l’hiver.
Le moment optimal du traitement en cas de dépression hivernale est le matin de bonne heure
ou la période de la plus grande baisse d’humeur. Le syndrome prémenstruel PMS (“jours avant
les règles”) et le syndrome de phases de sommeil avancées (se coucher très tôt et se réveiller
très tôt) peuvent être au mieux traités en soirée tandis que le syndrome des phases de sommeil
retardées (se coucher très tard et se réveiller très tard) peut être au mieux traité le matin.
Les effets secondaires de la thérapie à la lumière sont rares et ne durent que brièvement ; il
s’agit entre autres de maux de tête, de nausées, d’irritabilité et de picotements des yeux.
Aucune contre-indication absolue n’existe jusque-là. Une précaution toute particulière s’impose
toutefois pour toutes les formes de maladies des yeux et il est préférable de consulter au
préalable un opthalmologiste. Un contrôle ophtalmologique supplémentaire est nécessaire pour
les patients traités au lithium et prenant des médicaments susceptibles d’accroître la
sensibilité de L’œil à la lumière.
Les appareils ne requièrent aucun entretien particulier. Pour le nettoyage des appareils (boîtier),
seuls des produits de nettoyage doux et courants doivent être utilisés. La fiche doit tout d’abord
être débranchée. Si les ampoules doivent être remplacées, confiez cette opération à un
spécialiste.

Les produits DAVITA sont emballés selon le système "point vert". Chaque emballage est
réutilisable et bio-dégradable. Pour les produits LD 72 et LD 110, l'étui est en polystyrol (PS), les
couvercles en polyméthylméthacrylate (PMMA). Le contenant des Physiolight LD 220 – LD 1100
est en inox brossé.
Les tubes fluorescents ainsi que les appareils marqués du symbole ne peuvent pas être jetés
dans les ordures traditionnelles, mais doivent être détruits au même titre que les appareils
électriques et électroniques. Prière de vous renseigner auprès de votre commune afin de
connaître les possibilités de destruction de ces appareils.
DAVITA®accorde une garantie de 24 mois sur cet appareil à partir de sa date de vente. Cette
garantie est valable pour tous les vices de matériaux et de fabrication et exclut les pièces
détachées et les prestations de travail. La garantie expire si l’appareil est endommagé, s’il n’est
pas utilisé correctement ou si des interventions non autorisées ont été effectuées. Veuillez
conserver absolument votre bon d’achat (bon de caisse p. ex.) et remettez-le en cas de garantie
puisque ce n’est que de cette manière que DAVITA®pourra remplir sa prestation de garantie.
