KM-01 Knob Motor User Guide

NOTICE BEFORE ASSEMBLY
Assembly instructions
Align and snap together the c-clip to Dino-Lite.
WRONG POSITIONS:
Covering the knob Slits facing up Not aligned
Mount the c-clip onto the knob motor.
NOTE:
An extension cable can be made for extending the distance between the knob
motor and the control box with a 0.5mm² x 2C cable and supplied 2 pin circular
DIN connectors. The recommended length of the extension cable should be
within 10 meters.
(Oponal) Connect the USB cable to the control box and PC. The KM-01 Le/Right
rotaon control can then be controlled by either the control box or the DinoCapture
2.0 soware. Addionally, the MicroTouch on the control box can trigger the
DinoCapture 2.0 soware to take a picture.
Plug in the power adapter and connect it to the control box.
Connect the knob motor to the control box.
The KM-01 works with a certain range of Dino-Lite. If not certain whether the
Dino-Lite is compable to the KM-01, please consult your reseller or distributor.
The KM-01 can work alone or work together with PC’s using DinoCapture 2.0
soware version 1.4.1 or newer.
Some Dino-Lite models have the ability to lock the knob to prevent it from
scrolling. Please make sure the knob is NOT locked to avoid damage to the knob
motor.

Turn the long handscrew clockwise unl the knob motor’s rotor contacts the focus knob
of the Dino-Lite, then another ½ to 1 turn for appropriate tracon.
If the knob motor rotor turns but the Dino-Lite focus knob doesn’t:
If the knob motor rotor does not rotate:
Make sure the focus knob is in the unlocked posion if the Dino-Lite
has the scroll lock feature.
Make sure the Dino-Lite focus knob has not reached the end by
rotang the knob in the other direcon.
There maybe not enough contact between the knob motor and
Dino-Lite knob; try ghtening the long handscrew another ½ to 1
turn.
Make sure the Dino-Lite focus knob has not reached the end by
rotang the knob in the other direcon.
There maybe not enough torque to rotate the Dino-Lite knob; try
switching the torque to 2 on the control box(See control box funcons)
for more torque.
There is possibly too much pressure between the rotor and Dino-Lite
knob; try loosening the long handscrew.

The KM-01 will not change the working distance of the Dino-Lite. So please
posion the Dino-Lite for intended working distance/ magnificaon before
using.
The MicroTouch on the control box will be acvated to take pictures ONLY
when it is configured to use with the DinoCapture 2.0 soware.
NOTE:
The KM-01 can be controlled by DinoCapture 2.0 soware but limited to version
1.4.1 or later.
Connect the USB cable to the control box and PC.
Turn on the power to the control box.
Start the DinoCapture 2.0 soware, and the Knob Motor Control Window should pop up
as shown below. It can also be found under: Sengs > Knob Motor
1. Turn on the power to the control box.
2. Tap the le or right control to rotate the knob for fine adjustment.
3. Tap and hold the le or right control for incrementally faster rotaon.
The knob motor can be mounted to a 10mm diameter rod oen found on Dino-Lite
stands such as the MS35B or MS36B, and secure it with the short handscrew.

The knob motor can then be controlled by using a mouse. Move the mouse cursor INTO
the Knob Motor Control Window, and use the Le or Right mouse buon the same way
as the Le or Right controls on the control box.
