Produktleistung
Mortella Heal schützt Dermatitis-Digitalis-Wunden wie eine zweite Haut vor
dem ständigen Kontakt mit Schmutz, Keimen und Feuchtigkeit bei gleich-
zeitiger Atmungsaktivität. Das Pflastermaterial saugt überschüssige Wund-
flüssigkeit auf und konzentriert körpereigene Inhaltsstoffe des Wundsekrets an
der Wundoberfläche.
Mortella Heal schafft damit sehr gute Voraussetzungen für den Selbst-
heilungsprozess des Tieres. So können sich auch sehr große Wunden mit nur
einem Verband innerhalb von 14 Tagen unter Bildung von frischer, heller, flexibler
und schmerzfreier Haut schließen.

Klaue reinigen
Reinigen Sie die Klaue und die erkrankten Stellen gut (3).
Empfohlen wird eine Reinigung der Klaue mit lauwarmen Wasser z.B. aus
einer Euterbrause. Nur so erkennen Sie auch kleinere Läsionen sicher.
Kontrollieren Sie den Zwischenklauenspalt und vorderen Kronsaum auf
Mortellaro-Wunden!
Schneiden Sie lange Haare ab.
Trocknen Sie die Klaue mit einem Papier.

Mortella Heal auflegen
Entfernen Sie die weiße Papierabdeckung von Mortella Heal.
Entfernen Sie das Papier entweder beginnend von einer der Ecken (4) oder
durch Aufbrechen der Perforation in der Mitte des Produktes.
Verband anlegen
Die Vorgehensweise zum Verband anlegen wird für den Rechtshänder beschrieben.
Wo erforderlich, wird dabei die Klaue generell mit der linken Hand so gegriffen,
dass die Finger den vorderen Kronsaum fassen und der Daumen auf dem Ballen
liegt, um an diesen Stellen die Watte und die Binde während es Anlegens halten
zu können.
Klaue fixieren
Die Klaue in einem Klauenstand fixieren, sodass sie frei zugänglich ist.

Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Klaue gestreckt ist (1), wenn Sie den Verband anlegen.

Klaue polstern
Sie benötigen etwa eine halbe Rolle der beigelegten Poster-Watte.
Legen Sie die Watte in drei Lagen übereinander (7) (etwa 20 cm dreilagig)
und verdrillen diesen Bereich 2-mal (8) nahe der Watterolle, die Sie in der
linken Hand halten.

Legen Sie die Watterolle auf dem Pflaster ab und ziehen Sie die verdrillte
Watte in den Zwischenklauenspalt.
Halten Sie die Watte mit dem Daumen am Ballen und mit den Fingern am
vorderen Kronsaum.
Drücken Sie die gedrillte Watte mit einem Finger der rechten Hand noch
einmal tief in den engen Zwischenklauenspalt am Ballen (9).
Decken Sie die Wunden mit der klebenden Seite von Mortella Heal vollständig
ab (5), ggf. durch überlappendes Auflegen mehrerer Wundpflaster.

In der gleichen Weise legen Sie Mortella Heal auf Wunden auf der Vorderseite
der Klaue auf.
Bei Dermatitis-digitalis-Wunden im Zwischenklauenspalt können vor dem
Aufbringen von Mortella Heal zwei Wundpflaster (72 x 72 mm) zu einem
länglichen Pflaster zusammengeklebt und in den Zwischenklauenspalt ein-
gelegt werden (6). Alternativ benutzen Sie eine speziell dafür entwickelte Größe
(162 x 86/50 mm).
Stellen Sie sicher, dass alle Dermatitis-digitalis-Wunden am Fuß mit Mortella
Heal abgedeckt sind, bevor Sie den Fuß einbinden!

Wickeln Sie die Watte 1 1/2-mal so um den Huf, dass die Pyramide fixiert ist
und die Watte den Fuß bis unter die Afterklauen polstert.
Reißen Sie die Watte danach ab.
Mortella Heal und die Polsterung fixieren
Sie benötigen etwa eine halbe Rolle der beigestellten elastischen und
selbsthaftenden Binde.
Legen Sie die Binde immer mit Vorspannung auf, damit die Druckpolsterpyramide
auf den Wundbereich drückt. Die Binde soll immer möglichst breit aufliegen,
sodass sie den Fuß nicht abschnüren kann. Zwischen Haut und Binde sollte
immer Polsterwatte liegen. Watte, die von der Binde nicht abgedeckt ist, wird
abschließend unter den Rand der Binde geschoben.
Ziehen Sie mit der rechten Hand die Watte nach, damit Sie glatt im Zwischen-
klauenspalt und am vorderen Kronsaum anliegt.
Kontrollieren Sie, dass das Pflaster auch danach noch alle Wunden vollständig
abdeckt.
Nehmen Sie die Watterolle in die rechte Hand und drehen Sie die Rolle um
90° nach rechts (10).
Wickeln Sie die Watte 1-mal um den Fuß, sodass die Watte den gesamten
Kronsaum polstert und der Anfang der Watte am vorderen Kronsaum fixiert ist.
Setzen Sie die beigelegte Druckkissenpyramide über dem Pflaster auf
die Watte:

Legen Sie die flache Unterseite der Pyramide auf (11), wenn die Wunde
auf einer Wucherung sitzt.
Legen Sie die Spitze der Pyramide auf (12), wenn die Wunde muldenartig ist.

Führen Sie die Binde zurück zum Ballen und fixieren Sie die Binde wieder mit
dem Daumen der linken Hand über dem Ballen (17).
Wenden Sie die Binde um 90° nach rechts und führen Sie sie durch den
Zwischenklauenspalt entlang der rechten Klauenwand nach vorn zum
Kronsaum (17).
Wenden Sie die Binde am Kronsaum wieder um 90° und wickeln Sie die
Binde noch 1 1/2-mal um den Ballen herum.
Reißen Sie die Binde ab und schieben das Ende der Binde unter den
Verbandrand (18).
Schlagen Sie den Verbandrand ein, damit der Verbandrand nicht in den Fuß
einschneiden kann (18).
Sichern Sie den Verband mit zwei Wicklungen eines selbstklebenden
Gewebebandes (Duct-Tape) (19).
Der Verband bleibt 14 Tage (±3 Tage) auf der Klaue.

Legen sie die Binde vorn auf dem Kronsaum ab und halten Sie sie dort mit
den Fingern der linken Hand (13).
Führen Sie die Binde durch den Zwischenklauenspalt zum Ballen und halten
Sie die Binde mit dem Daumen der linken Hand (14).
Wenden Sie die Binde um 90° nach rechts und führen Sie die Binde 2-mal um
den Fuß herum (14).
Halten Sie die Binde wieder mit dem Daumen der linken Hand über dem
Ballen (15).
Wenden Sie die Binde um 90° nach rechts und führen Sie sie durch den
Zwischenklauenspalt entlang der linken Klauenwand nach vorn zum

Halten Sie die Binde am Kronsaum mit den Fingern der linken Hand und

Hinweise
Mortella Heal muss mit einem Verband fixiert werden.
Leichte Verschmutzungen der Dermatitis-Digitalis-Wunde oder des
Wundpflasters bei Anlegen des Verbandes stören den Heilungsprozess nicht.
Durch fachgerechtes Anlegen des Verbandes sicherstellen, dass
Mortella Heal Kontakt zur Wundoberfläche hat.
kein Schmutz eindringt.
der Verband nicht einschneidet.
Schmerzreaktionen des Tieres nach zwei bis drei Tagen deuten auf nicht
abgedeckte Läsionen hin. Dann muss der Verband abgenommen werden.
Die Klaue muss erneut gereinigt und inspiziert werden. Danach kann sofort
wieder ein frischer Verband angelegt werden.
Bei anschwellendem Fuß muss der Verband sofort abgenommen und der
Tierarzt hinzugezogen werden.
Wunden, die nicht vollständig mit Mortella Heal abgedeckt worden sind,
können sich verschlimmern.
Bei plegmonösen Entzündungen darf kein Verband angelegt werden.
Der Verband kann mit dem normalen Hausmüll entsorgt werden.
Der Verband ist nicht kompostierbar.
Der Verband ist nur zur Anwendung am Tier.
Europäische und einzelstaatliche Gesetze, Verordnungen und Richtlinien
sind bei Anwendung einzuhalten.

Vorsichtsmaßnahmen bei der Anwendung
Verband zum Fixieren des Wundpflasters immer so anlegen, dass durch die polsternde Watte, eine
kontrollierte Vorspannung der Binde und einem eingeschlagenen Verbandrand ein Einschneiden des
Verbandrandes in die Haut vermieden wird.

Die erkrankten Stellen von aufliegenden Verunreinigungen befreien. Mit der klebenden Seite des Wund-
pflasters die Wunde vollständig abdecken. Ggf. mehrere Pflaster überlappend aufkleben. Kontakt des
Wundpflasters zur Wundoberfläche bzw. dem Wundsekret sicherstellen. Wundpflaster so fixieren, das
es 14 Tage die Dermatitis-Digitalis-Wunden sicher abdeckt. Verband nach 14 Tagen abnehmen.

Product features
Mortella Heal covers Digital Dermatitis lesions like a second skin to protect
against contact with dirt, bacteria and moisture from the outside while being
permeable to oxygen and moisture. The dressing absorbs excess wound fluid
and concentrates the body’s own wound fluids on the surface of the wound.
Therefore, Mortella Heal provides a very good basis for body’s own healing
process. Even very large wounds may heal within 14 days and form fresh, light-
colored, flexible, and pain-free skin.
Please read the instructions carefully before use. Please direct inquiries to the
manufacturer or your veterinarian.

Clean the claw
Clean the claw and affected areas (3).
It is recommended to clean the claw with lukewarm water e.g. from an udder
shower. After that, you can be sure to see smaller lesions.
Inspect the interdigital space and the coronary band on the front side of
the claw for Digital Dermatitis wounds.
Cut off long hairs.
Dry the claw using tissue paper.

Apply Mortella Heal
Remove the release liner from Mortella Heal.
Remove the release liner starting from an edge (4) or by cracking the perforation.
Applying the bandage
The description below is described for right-handed application and can be
reversed. Where necessary you encompass the claw with your left hand. Your
fingers touch the coronary band on the front side and the thumb touches the
ball. This allows you to hold the gauze and bandage in position while applying it.
Fix the claw
Secure the claw using appropriate restraint, making the claw accessible.

Pad the claw
You need half a roll of the gauze provided.
Put three layers of the gauze on top of each other (7) (three-ply for around
20 cm) and twist it two times (8) near to the gauze roll in your left hand.

Place the gauze roll on top of the dressing and pull the twisted gauze into the
interdigital space.
Secure the gauze with the thumb on the ball and with the fingers on the
coronary band in front of the claw.
Press the twisted gauze with a finger of your right hand deep into the narrow
part of the interdigital space next to the ball (9).
Put the sticky surface of the product onto the wound. Cover the wound
completely (5) if necessary by using several dressings overlapping.

In the same way, apply Mortella Heal dressing on wounds of the coronary
band on the front side of the claw.
Cover Digital Dermatitis wounds in between the claws with two Mortella Heal
dressings (72 x 72 mm) overlapping (6). Stick together the two dressings
before you apply it. As an alternative use a dressing specifically designed for
this purpose (162 x 86/50 mm).
Ensure that you cover all Digital Dermatitis wounds around the foot, if necessary
with several dressings, before you apply the bandage!

Wrap the gauze 1 1/2 times around the leg, so that it holds the pyramid in
position and the gauze upholsters the leg right up to the dewclaw.
After that tear off the gauze.
Secure Mortella Heal and gauze
You need half a roll of the self-adhesive elastic bandage provided.
Apply the bandage with appropriate tension, where possible with the entire
width of the bandage, so that the bandage does not cut off the blood supply.
Pull the gauze with your right hand so that the gauze fits close to the interdig-
ital space and to the coronary band in front of the claw.
Inspect whether the dressing still covers the wound(s) completely.
Take the gauze roll into your right hand and turn the gauze 90° to the right (10).
Wrap the gauze once around the leg, so that the gauze upholsters the
complete coronary band while securing the beginning of the gauze.
Place the pressure pad pyramid provided onto the gauze on top of the dressing.

Place the base of the pyramid onto the gauze on top of the dressing (11),
if the wound is located on a proliferation.
Place the tip of the pyramid onto the gauze on top of the dressing (12), if the
wound area is depressant.

Wrap the bandage back to the ball and hold it again with the thumb of your
left hand (17).
Turn the bandage by 90° to the left and wrap it from back to front in-between
the gap of the claw along the right wall of the claw (17).
Turn the bandage on the coronary band by 90° and wrap the bandage 1 1/2
times around the foot.
Tear off the bandage if necessary and push the end behind the edge of
the bandage (18).
Smash the border, so that the edge of the bandage cannot cut into the foot
(18).
Secure the bandage with two wraps of a duct tape (19).
The bandage remains 14 days (±3) days on the claw.

of the claw. Hold the bandage with the fingers of your left hand on the

Precautions
Any Digital Dermatitis wounds that you do not cover completely may
deteriorate. This becomes apparent if the animal still shows pain reaction
after about two to three days. Then you must clean and inspect the claw
again and replace the bandage with a new one.
Remove the bandage in case of a swollen foot and consult your veterinarian.
Do not cover phlegmons with a bandage.
Disposal
Dispose of the used product with domestic waste.
The product is not compostable.

Mortella Heal protège, telle une seconde peau, les lésions de la dermatite

la plaie.
Mortella Heal offre de cette façon de très bonnes conditions pour la régénéra-
tion de la peau. Même les plus grandes plaies se rétablissent en l’espace de 14
jours avec la formation d’une nouvelle peau claire, hydratée, souple et indolore.

Nettoyage du pied
Nettoyez bien le pied et les parties à traiter (3).
Il est conseillé de nettoyer le pied à l’eau tiède, à l’aide par exemple du pistolet
de lavage. Ainsi les plus petites lésions pourront également être visibles.
Contrôlez la présence de plaies dues à la Mortellaro au niveau de l’espace
interdigité et l’avant de la couronne!
Coupez les poils trop longs.
Séchez le pied à l’aide d’un papier absorbant.

Pose du Mortella Heal
Retirez le papier blanc du Mortella Heal.
Retirez le papier en partant de l’un des coins (4) ou en ouvrant la perforation
située au milieu du pansement.
Pose du pansement
La description de la pose du pansement qui suit, est relative aux droitiers. En
maintenant le pied généralement avec la main gauche, les doigts fixent le pied au
niveau de la couronne et le pouce est placé au niveau des talons. Cette position
des mains permettra de bien tenir la bande de coton et la bande autoadhésive
lors de la pose.
Fixation du pied
Le pied doit être fixé en cage de contention de sorte que l’on y accède facilement.

Vérifiez que le pied se trouve en position d’extension (1) lorsque vous posez
le pansement.
