Introduction
Before using the Power Am lifier, carefully read this manual and other documentation that
came with your am lifier. This will allow you to reduce the risk of failure of this roduct.
It is a transistor linear 430-440 MHz ower am lifier designed for use with amateur radio
stations. Distinctive features of the am lifier:
–instant availability for o eration;
–com act size, light weight;
–no need to re lace com onents due to wear;
–increased service life;
–lack of high voltage in the high-frequency art;
–the ability to automate o eration.
Operating Precautions
For the ower am lifier to work ro erly, you must follow some recautions:
–The operation of the amplifier without an appropriate electrical grounding
s stem is required;
–If ossible, organize the chassis grounding of the radio-transmitting device, which
will ensure the most efficient and stable o eration of all the equi ment of the
amateur station, and will reduce the level of ossible interference and RF
interference; ground all station equi ment to a common ground.
–If the rotection systems of the am lifier are re eatedly activated, it is necessary to
sto the o eration of the am lifier until the causes of the emergency shutdown are
eliminated. Multi le tri ing of rotection systems can damage ex ensive LDMOS
transistors;
–Do not dro , or damage the case, or allow foreign objects inside - this may lead to
the failure of the electronic com onents of the ower am lifier.
–Do not o erate the ower am lifier with the covers removed to avoid overheating of
the device. The absence of covers disru ts the cooling system.

Functional Features of the Amplifier
The built-in otentiometers in the rotection circuit and the BIAS voltage control circuit are
set to the correct osition during setu and testing of the equi ment. Any change in the
osition of these otentiometers will result in the need to reconfigure the am lifier using
accurate measuring instruments.
Before o erating the ower am lifier, it is necessary to connect a load equivalent of 50
ohms, minimum 400 watts or a matched antenna with known low SWR to the out ut
antenna connector. The o eration of the am lifier without load negatively affects the
o eration of the out ut RF transistors.
To obtain an out ut ower of 400 watts, the in ut ower level should be no more than 8
watts.
The am lifier is designed for an im edance of 50 ohms. If the antenna-feeder devices are
matched to a resistance of 50 Ohms, and the SWR on all o erating ranges does not
exceed the value of 1.5 to 1, then the am lifier can be o erated without additional
coordination. If the SWR is greater than 1.5 to 1, then the use of additional matching
devices is recommended.
In the out ut stage of the ower am lifier, a high-quality LDMOS transistor
BLP05H9S500P is used.
The rocess of switching the transmit-receive in the am lifier is rovided by coaxial relays
controlled by a digital sequencer on the TINY13A micro rocessor, which allows you to
control an external LNA, as well as control the transceiver by the TX INHBIT command.
The ower am lifier is equi ed with s ecial high-s eed rotection circuits. For exam le,
from excess of out ut ower, high value of SWR in the antenna, high drain current of
out ut transistors and overheating.
To control the o erating arameters of the ower am lifier, a digital measuring device is
used, on which the out ut ower level and the SWR value are dis layed.

6. Protection indicator for exceeding the maximum ermissible out ut ower
Turn the amplifier off and on again to reset the protection circuit.

Back panel description
OUT - RF connector for connecting the antenna.
CONTROL - connector for PTT signal.
IN - connector for connecting a coaxial cable from the transceiver.
53V - connector for connecting a 30-53V ower su ly.
Control cable connection:
5 pin – LNA control
15 pin - PTT, connection to the housing enables transmission mode
17 pin – TNX INHBIT
24 pin - GND, common wire.

Power Amplifier Protection Circuits
1. Overheat protection.
If the tem erature of the transistor case exceeds + 60 ° C, the bimetallic thermal switch
located on the transistor case will be triggered and transmission becomes im ossible, until
it cools down to + 55 ° C.
2. Protection against exceeding the maximum permissible output power.
If the out ut ower level exceeds the ermissible threshold, a rotection will be activated
that disconnects the ower from the out ut transistors. The P LED lights u on the front
anel. A ower cycle is required to reset the rotection.
3. Protection against high SWR.
If the SWR in the load exceeds the value of 1.5: 1, then the rotection system will trigger.
The SWR LED on the front anel lights u . To reset the rotection, turn off the ower. In
case of rotection o eration, we recommend checking the SWR antenna and feed line.
Insure feed line and connectors are adequate for handling 400 watts
4. Protection against exceeding the maximum permissible current.
If the current value of the out ut transistors exceeds the ermissible threshold, a
rotection will be activated that disconnects the ower from the out ut transistors. The
LED I on the front anel lights u . To reset the rotection, turn off the ower.
