INSTALLATION
The cash drawer has been pre-assembled to make the installation as simple as possible. Connect the drawer to the
POS printer as shown in Figure 1. Whenever the POS application software sends a drawer open command to the
POS printer, the printer will output a 12 to 24 voltage electrical pulse to open the drawer.
PROCEDURE
1. Remove the cash drawer from the packing, then remove the keys and interface cable from the plastic bag.
2. Connect the interface cable to the POS printer.
3. Connect the other end of the interface cable to the “Control Signal Input” of the cash drawer.
4. Insert the bill dispenser divider and bill clipper to the cash tray.
TEST COMMAND
The following test sequence will verify that the cash drawer is working properly. Before start this procedure, the cash
drawer must install correctly as outlined in the installation section.

PROCEDURE
Serial interface POS printer:
1. From the C prompt type “MODE COM 1 96,N,8,1” and press ENTER.
2. Type “TYPE CON>COM1” and press ENTER.
3. Type any alphanumeric character(s) and press ENTER. The cash drawer will open.
4. To return to the C prompt press and hold the CTRL key while depressing the letter C.
Parallel interface POS printer:
1. From the C prompt type “TYPE CON>LPT1” and press ENTER.
2. Type any alphanumeric character(s) and press ENTER. The cash drawer will open.
3. To return to the C prompt press and hold the CTRL key while depressing the letter C.
KEY LOCK OPERATION
The cash drawer has a three position key lock (Figure 2) and the fully counter clockwise lock position offers maximum
security. The cash drawer cannot be opened by printer signal or an individual when the lock is in the full counter clockwise
position.With the lock in the centerposition, the drawer will open when an electronic pulse is received from the POS printer.
The cash drawer is manually opened when the lock is in the clockwise position.
