1.0INTRODUCTION
Thisinstallation,operation and maintenancebookletshouldalways
accompanythe fan coil forreadyconsultation bythe installeroruserif
necessary.The applianceshouldbe installed incompliancewiththe
regulationsinforceineachcountryand according tothe manufacturer's
orqualified installer'sinstructions.Themanufacturercannotbeheldliable
foranydamage topropertyorinjurytopersonsand animalscaused by
incorrectinstallationoftheappliance.Onlyqualified personsshouldinstall
the applianceand connectittothe mainselectricitysupply.
Beforecarryingoutanyworkontheappliance,ensurethatitisdisconnected
fromthe electricitysupply.Read thisinstruction bookletbeforeinstalling
the appliance.
2.0RECOMMENDATIONS
The applianceiseasy touse,butitisimportanttoread thisguide
completelybeforeusing forthe firsttime.Thiswill helpyou to:
-use theappliance inall safety;
-obtainbestperformance;
-avoiderrors;

3.0TRANSPORTATION,RECEIVING, HANDLING
The applianceisdispatched enclosed inspecialprotectivepackaging,
whichshouldbe keptintactuntil the applianceispositioned inthe
finalplaceofinstallation.
The applianceshouldbe handled withextremecare,always keeping
itinitsoriginalpackaging.
One palletmayhold11 fan coilsmodelWIND 10-60 (9invertical+
2inhorizontal)or9fan coilsmodelWIND 70-90 (9invertical).
Totakethe applianceoutofthe packaging,proceed asfollows(fig.
1):
1.Turnthe fan coil boxupside downand open the bottom.
2.Removethe polystyrene filling and keep it.
3.Keeping the bottomofthe boxopen,turnthe pack 180°,taking
carethatthe contentsarefirmlyheldbeforeresting itgentlyon the
ground.Lift off the packaging fromthe appliance.

-Donotusethe applianceinplaceswithsuspended dust/powder
orinpotentiallyexplosiveatmospheres,inverydampenvironments
orinthe presenceofoil insuspension orinparticularlyaggressive
atmospheres.
-Donotcoverthe appliancewithobjectsordrapesthateven partially
obstructthe airflow.
-The applianceworks byelectricityatmainsvoltage (230 Vac,50
Hz).Alwaysbearinmindthatmainsvoltage ispotentiallydangerous
and anyapplianceconnected toitshouldbe used withcaution.
-Beforecarrying outanyworkon the appliance,disconnectitfrom
the electricitysupply(bypulling outthe plug fromthe mainssocket
orisolating the supplyline byputting the on-off switchtooff).
-If the applianceisnottobe used forlong periods,makesurethat
the controlsareinthe position 0(off).If the applianceisnotgoing
tobe used inwinterwhen temperaturesareneartofreezing,drain
the systemand ensurethatthe applianceheatexchangerhasno
waterinitinordertopreventthe formation oficeand consequent
breakage.
Tomakethe applianceinoperable,disconnectittotallyfromthe
electricitysupply.
It isunsafetoalterortrytoalterthe characteristics ofthisproduct.
Anytampering oralteration rendersthe warrantynull and void.
Inthe eventofmalfunction orfailure,do nottrytorepairthe
applianceyourself; contactaqualified technician.Repairscarried
outbyunqualified personscouldcausedamage oraccidents.
Always keep the applianceclean.Inparticularclean the airfilter
periodically(atleastonceamonth).

5.0INSTALLATION
5.1RECOMMENDATIONSFORINSTALLATION
Beforeinstalling the appliance,ensurethat::
1)the placeofinstallation hassufficientspaceforcarrying outinstallation
aswell asroutine and extraordinarymaintenancework(see fig.4).
2)Thereareno obstructionsforairintakeand delivery.
3)The waterconnectionsareofthe sizes,inthe position and spaced apart
asrequired bythe appliance(see Dimension).
4)The systempressuredoesnotexceed 8barforthe waterversions..
5)The electricitysupplycorrespondstothe dataon the appliancerating
plateand thatthereisaafetyswitchreadilyaccessibletothe usertocut
off the powersupplywhenevernecessary.
6)The safetyswitchisinthe OFF position sothatthereisno voltage on the
appliancesupplyline.

Beforeinstalling the appliance,removethe housing (ifpresent).Raise
the flapscovering the controlpaneland thewaterconnections.Remove
the twoscrewsfixing the housing tothe fan coil load-bearing structure.
Gipping the rearofthe housing,removeitasshowninthe fig.5(N.B.:
be carefulofthe lugson the frontpartofthe load-bearing structure,
asshowninfig.10).Putthe cabinetinthe packing boxtopreventit
frombeing soiled ordamaged (fig.6)
Offertheapplianceuptotherequiredpointofinstallationandmark,through
the fixingholes,thepointsonthe wallwheretheholesshouldbedrillerfor
the4screwanchors,asshowninfig.7.
5.2FAN COILINSTALLATION
Removethe appliancefromthe pointofinstallation,drill the holes
wheremerked on the wall (see fig.8)and insertthe screwanchors.
Placethe applianceagainstthe wall and fixitbytightening the screws
intothe anchorssee (fig.9).Carryoutthe waterand electrical
connectionsasdescribed inthe relevantparagraphs.Toreplacethe
housing,
Takethe cabinetfromthe packing box.Standing infrontofthe fancoil,
lift cabinet, holding itbythe sides,and tiltit(fig.10).
6.0WATERCONNECTIONS
6.1CONNECTIONTOTHEWATERMAINS
CAUTION!
Always use awrenchand nose key forconnection ofthecoil to
thepipes (fig.12).Ifthevalve isinstalled,suitablyinsulatethe
valve bodywithinsulating material(fig.13).
Connectthe waterinletand outletpipes,observing the indications
given on the side ofthe appliance.Correctlyinsulatethe watersupply
pipestopreventdripping during the cooling mode ofoperation.An
shutoffvalveshouldbe insertedon thewatersupplypipe and balancing
valveon the outletpipe.The valvebodyand balancing valveshould
alsobe properlyinsulated topreventdripping.It isthe installer's
responsibilitytoinsulateproperlyand the manufacturercannotbe
heldliableforanyinsulation work.
N.B.: It isalways advisabletoinstall thesolenoidvalve.Intheheating
mode ofoperation the valvereducesconsumption becauseupon
reaching the settemperaturethe circulation ofwaterisstopped to
avoidwasting energy(the fan coil wouldotherwisecontinue toheat
likearadiator,even withthe motoratastandstill).Inthe cooling mode
ofoperation the valvestopsthe circulation ofwaterwhen the set
temperatureisreached,thisstopiing the internalexchanger
Insertthe lugsAintothe relativeslotsB(fig.11).Pivotthe cabineton
itsbaseuntil itisaligned withthe wall.Raisethe flapscovering the
controlpaneland waterconnectionsand tighten the twofixing screws
(fig.5).

6.2CONDENSATEWATERDRAINAGE
The condensatedrainpipe shouldslope downwardsbyatleast3
cm/mand shouldnothaveascending orthrottled section inorderto
ensurearegularflowofwater.It isadvisableforatrap tobe fitted.
Thecondensatedrainpipe shouldbe connected toarainwaterdrainage
system.Donotusesewage systemtoavoidpossibleodoursinthe
eventofevaporation ofthe waterinthe trap.Upon completion ofwork,
check thatthe condensateflowsoutproperlybypouring waterinto
the tray(see fig.14 and 15).The condensatewaterdrainage system
shouldbefabricatedinaworkmanlikemannerand shouldbe periodically
checked.Themanufacturercannotbeheldliableforanydamage
causedbydripping intheabsence ofasolenoidvalve orof
periodicmaintenance ofthedrainagesystem.
7.1RECOMMENDATIONS
Beforecarrying outelectricalconnections,ensurethatthe electricity
supplytothe supplyline hasbeen cutoff, checking thatthe on-off
switchisinthe OFF position.Onlyqualified electriciansshouldcarry
outthe electricalconnections.Check thatthe mainssupplyissingle-
phase230 Vac/1/50 Hz(±10%).Operating the appliancewithvoltages
outside the abovelimitscouldcausemalfunction and rendersthe
warrantynull and void.The fan coil powersupplyline shouldbe fitted
withatleastaswitchisolatorinconformitywithEuropean standard
EN60947-3.Makesurethatthe electricalsystemissuitableforproviding
notonlythe working currentrequired bythe appliance,butalsothe
necessarycurrentforpowering householdand otherelectrical
appliancesalreadyinuse.Anyelectricaland mechanicalalterations
ortamperingrenderthewarrantynullandvoid.Themotorandaccessories
powercablesinchannelsorductsshouldremaininside the sameuntil
theyareinside the appliances.Thecables shouldbesufficientlylong
sothatthey arenotpermanentlytautorcreatethrottling orpressure
on metalparts(see fig.16).
7.0ELECTRICALCONNECTIONS
fromcontinuing tocondensewaterwithpossibleundersirabledripping
intothe floor.It alsoreduceschilleroperation withconsequentenergy
saving.
The powercablesshouldbe sufficientlylong sothatinthe eventof
accidentaltugging the activewiresaresubjected tostress beforethe
earthwire.Connectthe earthwiretothe relativeterminalmarked with
the symbol.Check the earthconnection.Complywiththesafety
regulationsinforce inthecountryofinstallation.
7.2CONNECTIONSTOTHETERMINALBLOCKS(withoutcontolpanel)
The electricalconnectionsshouldbe made tothe terminalblock on
the side ofthe appliance(fig.17).Eachterminalisidentified bythe
labeltobe found on the terminalblock.
7.3CONNECTIONSTOTHETERMINALBLOCKS(withcontolpanel)
The electricalconnectionsshouldbe made directlytothe control
panel,asshownbythe relativewiring diagram.If the controlpanel
hasanelectronictemperaturesensor(NTC)thissensorwill bepowered
bymainsvoltage (230Vac/1/50 Hz)and isthereforeprovided with
doubleinsulation.
CAUTION!FAILURETOCOMPLYWITHTHEINDICATED
CONNECTIONSMAYCAUSE MOTORBURNOUT!
7.4CHANGINGTHEMOTORSPEEDSOFROTATION
The fan coil motorhas6speed settings,3ofwhichareconnected in
the factory(red,blue and black wiresconnected tothe motorauto-
transformer).Touseotherspeedsthan thosewired up inthe factory,
the red (minimum),blue (medium) and black (maximum) wiresmay
be connected onto3ofthe 6numbered terminals(1…6),taking into
accountthatthe speedsfollowasequenceasshowninfig.18

CAUTION
The fan mayreachthe speed of1,000 rpm.Donotinsertobjectsor
handsintothe electricfan.The motorbecomeshotduring operation;
waitforittocoolbeforetouching it.
Duringthe heatingmodeofoperation theexchangerand the connecting
pipesmaybecomeveryhot(80°C).Waitfortheexchangertocool
beforetouching itorprotecthandswithsuitablegloves.
Upon completion ofinstallation,scrupulouslycheck boththe water
and the electricalconnectionsbeforeswitching on the appliance.
Beforemounting thehousing (ifpresent),fill the system,bring it
up topressureand bleed.Makethe watercirculateand check for
leaks.Check correctoperation ofthefancoil atthe3speeds,of
thesolenoidvalves and oftheminimumtemperaturethermostat
(ifinstalled).Thecabinetiscoveredbyaprotective film:remove
itbeforefixing thehousing totheappliance.Remountthe housing
(ifpresent),otherwisethecustomerhasthe responsibilityofconcealing
the appliance.
8.0TESTINGTHEFANCOIL
CAUTION!
Protecttheappliance withacardboardboxifbuilding works are
still being carriedout(Fig.19).
9.0TURNINGTHECOIL
Theheatexchangewatercoilsaresuitableforworking up to
amaximumpressureof8bar.
Toturnthe coil,proceed asfollows:
1.Removethehousing(ifpresent).
2.Disconnecttheterminalblockorthecontrolpanel(2),ifpresent,fromthesideofthe
appliance.
3.Removethecondensatecollectingtrayinhorizontalmodelsorthegalvanisedpanels
inverticalmodels(4).
4.Removethecoilfixingscrews(5).
5.Takeoutthecoil(1),beingcarefulnottobecutbythefinsandnottodamage them.
6.Removetheknockouts(6)ontheoppositesideofthefancoil(usingascrewdriver),
toallowthecoilconnectionstopassthrough.
7.Positionthecoil,turningitwithouttippingitupsidedown,sothatthefittingsareinline
withtheholesleftbytheknockouts.
8.Fixthecoilusingthepreviouslyremovedscrews(5).
9.Shift thecontrolpanel(2),ifpresent,ortheterminalblock(fixingittothesideopposite
thewaterfittings),themotorandsensorcables(3),ifpresent, fixingthemwiththeir
grips.Ensurethatthe cablespassthrough the holeinthe side oftheappliance,
protectingthemwiththerelativegrommet.Ifitproveseasiertocarryoutthisoperation
byseparatingthewiresfromtheterminalblocks,markthepositionsofthewiresto
avoidmakingmistakeswhenreconnecting.
10.Reconnectthewirestotherelativeterminalblocksorcontrolpanel(2),takingcarethat
theyarecorrectlypositioned.
11.Replacethecondensatecollectingtray(4)inhorizontalmodelsorthegalvanised
panelsinverticalmodels.
12.Remountthehousing(ifpresent).
10.0USINGTHEAPPLIANCE
10.1WARNINGS!
Thisapplianceshouldonlybe used byadults.Makesurethatchildren do
nottouchthe controlsorplaywiththe appliance.Thisappliancehasbeen
designed foruseasaheating and cooling applianceinroomsthatare
clean and frequented bypersons(withnormalpollution).Avoidusing for
anyotherpurpose.Thisapplianceshouldnotbe used inplaceswith
suspended dust/powderorinpotentiallyexplosiveatmospheres,invery
dampenvironmentsorinthe presenceofoilinsuspensionorinparticularly
aggressiveatmospheres.

11.2CLEANINGTHEHOUSINGAND THECONTROLPANEL
Toclean the housing,useadrysoft clothtoavoidscratching the
enamel.
Toclean the controlpaneland the airoutletlouvres,useavacuum
cleanerfitted withasoft dusting tooloruseaseparatebrush.
Delicatelyclean the louvresand the controlsbyremoving dustfrom
the cracks and corners.
Underno circumstances use water.

Heating mode
Putthe season selectorswitchfromthe off position ( ) tothe winter
position ( ).The fan starts.Inmodelswithminimumtemperature
thermostat(optional),the fan startswhen the internalheatexchanger
issufficientlyhot. If the waterisnothotenough,the fan doesnotstart.
Cooling mode
Putthe season selectorswitchfromthe off position ( ) tothe summer
position ( ).The fan startsimmediately.
Selecting thefanspeed
Putthe selectorswitchtothe required speed.The higherthe speed
the quickertheroomwillbeheated/cooled,althoughapplianceoperation
will be noisier(fig.23).
Automatictemperatureadjustment(forcontrolpanelwithbuilt-in
thermostat).Thiscontrolpanelhasabuilt-intemperaturesensor,which
measuresthe roomairtemperature.Thisinformation isused forthe
automaticcontrolofthe fan orintroduction ofwaterintothe internal
exchangerthrough the solenoidvalve(optional).The appliancethus
keepsthe roomatthe temperaturesetbythe user.
Theroomtemperaturemay besetapprox.between10°Cand
30°C.Iftheappliance does nothave abuilt-incontrolpanel, but
iscontrolledbyawall-mountedthermostat,refertothethermostat
instructionsforuse.
11.0CLEANINGAND MAINTENANCE
The appliancerequiresno periodicmaintenance.Simplechecks by
the usertokeep itinperfectworking orderare,however,necessary.
CAUTION!Beforecarrying outanycleaning ormaintenance work,
disconnecttheappliance fromthemainselectricitysupply!
11.1CLEANINGTHEAIRFILTER
The applianceisfitted withan airfilteron the fan inlet. During normal
operation the filterwithholdsimpuritiesinthe air.
The filtershouldbe cleaned periodicallytokeep itsfiltering properties
and the airflowtothe fan unchanged.
It isadvisabletoclean the filteratleastonceamonth,proceeding as
follows.
1.Takeoutthe filter.
2.Placethe filteron aflat, drysurfaceand removethe accumulated
dustwithavacuumcleaner.
3.Washthe filterwithwaterand detergent(no solvents).
4.Leavethe filtertodryinaventilated placeinthe sun.
5.Replacethe filterwhen itisperfectlydry.

14.0WARRANTY
Thiswarrantyisintended tobe aconventionalwarrantyinaccordance
withsection 1519 septiesofthe Italian Civil Code.
Thiswarrantyinnowayaffectsthe consumer'sstatutoryrightsprovided
bylegislation on the salesofmovableconsumergoods.
The consumermaythereforeexercisetheserightstowardsthe seller,
on the conditionsand withinthe termsprovided bythe aforementioned
lawand bythisconventionalwarranty.
The goodsareguaranteed fortwoyearsfromthe dateofpurchase.
Inanycase,forthe warrantytobe valid,the interested partyshall

Inthe eventofdefectinthe soldproduct, the consumermayrequest
the sellerforrepairorreplacementofthe same.
Shouldthe requested remedybe objectivelyimpossibleorexcessively
burdensome,inaccordancewithsection 1519 quaterofthe Italian
Civil Code,incurring expensesforthe sellerthatmaybe considered
unreasonable,the lattershall arrange torestoreconformityofthe
productwithan alternativeremedy.Inanycaseitisherebyspecified
that, inaccordancewithsection 1519 quaterofthe Italian Civil Code,
lastparagraph,aslightdefectinconformityforwhichitisobjectively
impossibleorexcessivelyburdensomeforthe sellertocarryoutthe
aforementioned remedies,shall notgivethe consumerthe rightto
withdrawfromthe contractofsale.

non-conforming goods.
It fallstothe consumer,through adeliverydocumentissued bythe
sellerorthrough anotherdocumentofproof(invoicereceiptorsimilar,
productcode,orders,contracts,etc.),whichshowthe nameofthe
sellerand the dateinwhichthe salewasmade,toshowthatthis
warrantyisstill valid.
Thiswarrantyisvalidforsupplieswithinthe European Union.
Thiswarrantyisnotvalidinall casesofimproperuseofthe goods
and inparticularinthe eventofuseofthe samewithinthe scope of
commercial,business orprofessionalactivities.
Neitherdoesthiswarrantycovernon-conformitiesdue tonegligence
inusing the goods(e.g.failuretocomplywiththe applianceoperating
instructions),installation ormaintenancecarried outbyunauthorised
personnel,damage due totransportation ordue tocircumstances
whichcannotbe traced back tofaultsinworkmanshipordefectsin
conformityofthe goods.
