SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPACT AREA LIGHT
WARNING! When using lights or lanterns, additional precautions should always
be followed, including the following:
◾To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when a product
is used near children.
◾Do not contact hot parts.
◾Only use attachments recommended or sold by the manufacturer.
◾Do not use in the rain.
◾To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not put the product in water or
other liquid. Do not place or store product where it can fall or be pulled into
a tub or sink.
◾To reduce the risk of injury, do not stare at operating lamp. Serious eye injury
could occur.
◾The lens gets very hot during use. To reduce the risk of burns, do not touch hot
lens.
◾To reduce the risk of fire, keep away from combustible materials while in
operation.

◾Refer to the battery pack instruction manual for precautions about battery
packs.
◾Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before
connecting to battery pack, picking up or carrying the appliance. Carrying the
appliance with your finger on the switch or energizing appliance that have the
switch on invites accidents.

◾Disconnect the battery pack from the appliance before making any
adjustments, changing accessories, or storing appliance. Such preventive
safety measures reduce the risk of starting the appliance accidentally.
◾Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that
is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with
another battery pack.
◾Use appliances only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any
other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
◾When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that
can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery
terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
◾Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid
contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts
eyes, additionally seek medical help.
◾Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
◾Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified.
Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in
fire, explosion or risk of injury.
◾Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature.
Exposure to fire or temperature above 265 °F (130 °C) may cause explosion.
◾Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the battery pack or
appliance outside of the temperature range specified in the instructions.
Charging improperly or at temperatures outside of the specified range may
damage the battery and increase the risk of fire.
◾Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is maintained.
◾Do not modify or attempt to repair the appliance or the battery pack (as
applicable) except as indicated in the instructions for use and care.
◾Save these instructions. Refer to them frequently and use them to instruct
others who may use this tool. If you loan this tool to someone else, also loan
these instructions to them to prevent misuse of the product and possible injury.

KNOW YOUR COMPACT AREA LIGHT (Fig. 1a – 1c)
The safe use of this product requires an understanding of the information printed on
the tool and in this instruction manual, as well as knowledge of the project you are
attempting. Before use of this product, familiarize yourself with all operating features and
safety rules.

HANDLE
Allows the user to carry the light.
BASE
Provides support for the light.
TRANSPARENT COVER (LENS)
Polycarbonate to provide greater durability.
RAISED RIBS
Raised ribs on the corners of the cover allow the light to be placed on its lens
(transparent cover).
LED PANELS
Main (central) and two peripheral LED panels can be turned on/off individually.
BATTERY-RELEASE BUTTON
Releases battery pack from the light.
LATCH
Secures a battery pack to the light.
BATTERY EJECTION MECHANISM
Aids in battery removal.
USB-C PORT
Provides charging power of 5 Volts DC at up a combined draw of 1.5 Amperes for your
USB device.
TRIPOD MOUNTING HOLE
The 1/4”-20 threaded hole in the base are designed to mount the light onto most of
available tripods.
HOOK
Allow the light to be hung.

OPERATION
WARNING: Do not use any attachments or accessories not recommended by the
manufacturer of this product. The use of attachments or accessories not recommended
can result in serious personal injury.
Before each use, inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or loose parts, such
as screws, nuts, bolts, caps, etc. Tighten securely all fasteners and caps and do not
operate this product until all missing or damaged parts are replaced.
APPLICATION
You may use this product for flood lighting and area lighting.
TO INSTALL/REMOVE BATTERY
PACK (Fig. 2)
Fully charge the battery pack
before first use!
To install
◾Align the ribs of the battery
pack with the mounting slots in
the light’s battery port.
◾Press the battery pack into the battery port until it snaps into position.
To remove
◾Press the battery-release button. The battery pack will disengage from the latch
and the ejection mechanism will assist with removal.
◾Remove the battery pack from the light.

TURNING THE LIGHT ON AND OFF
Power button (Fig. 3)
◾Press the power button briefly
to turn the light ON.
◾Press the power button briefly
again to turn the light OFF.
BRIGHTNESS ADJUSTMENT
(Fig. 3)
There are five brightness levels: 1 – 5
(600 lm – 3000 lm).
◾Press the “+” button to increase brightness and press the “–” button to decrease
the brightness.
◾When you turn on the light, the brightness will be the same as the last time you
used it.
COLOR TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT (Fig. 3)
You can adjust the color temperature of the light according to your taste/needs.
◾Press the “ ” button to toggle between the following settings:
- Warm White (2700 K) - this setting is the least attractive to insects.
- Neutral White (3300 K).
- Natural White (3600 K).
- Cool White (4200 K)
- Daylight White (5000 K)
◾When you turn on the light, the color temperature will be the same as the last
time you used it.
Mode Selection (Fig. 3)
An LED panel (or combination of LED panels) can be turned on/off as desired.
◾Press the “Mode” button to toggle between the following modes:
- Area mode: all three LED panels are illuminated,

- Task mode: only the main (central) LED panel is illuminated,
- Ambiance mode: only the two peripheral LED panels are illuminated.
◾When you turn on the light, the light mode will be the same as the last time you
used it.
◾Press and hold the “MODE” button for 3 seconds and the light will switch to
flashing “SOS” mode. Press the “MODE” button again and the light will return to
the previous brightness setting and panel selection.
NOTE: In “SOS” mode, all 3 LED panels will be flashing, even if before the “SOS”
mode activation only some of the LED panels were on.
NOTE: When the temperature reaches 100°C, the main (central) light LED panel will
be turned off, and only the two peripheral LED panels will be turned on to enter the
ambiance mode.
USING THE LIGHT (Fig. 4a – 4c)
WARNING: Ensure the light is
securely installed to prevent falling
object hazard. Failure to follow the
instruction can result in serious
personal injury.
◾To hang the light, pull out
the hooks located in the base
of the unit and hang the light
upside down. The hook width
is 1.7 in. (44 mm). Make sure
the object that the light is
hung on is sturdy enough to
support the combined weight
of the light and the battery
pack.
◾To mount the light on a tripod
(not included), secure the tripod
screw to the tripod mounting
hole on the bottom of the base.
The base features a 1/4”-20
threaded hole. Make sure the tripod is placed on a flat level surface.

WARNING: Make sure the
tripod is sturdy enough to support the
combined weight of the light and the
battery pack.
◾For portable illumination,
carry the light by the top handle
(Fig. 4c).
POWERING USB DEVICES
(Fig. 5)
The USB-C port provides power of 5
Volts DC at up a combined draw of
1.5 Amperes for your USB device.
◾Install a battery pack into the
compact area light.
◾Press the power button to turn
the light ON.
◾Insert one end of the USB-C
cable (not included) into the
USB-C port and the other
end into the device that needs to be powered or charged. The light will begin to
charge/power the device automatically.
◾When the light is not in use, disconnect the device from the light, then press the
power button to turn it OFF.
◾Remove the battery pack from the light.
NOTE:If the light is turned off during USB charging process, the connected USB
device will continue charging for about 2 hours.
WARNING: Runtime of the connected device is dependent upon the device and
the EGO battery capacity.
WARNING: Do not insert a nail, wire, etc. into the USB-C port. Otherwise a short
circuit may damage the USB-C port.

BLUETOOTH CONNECTION
To assure that your compact area light is in top shape, install the EGO Connect app on
your smartphone or tablet and periodically check for available firmware updates. EGO
Connect app can be downloaded for free from Apple App Store or Google Play.
To install and set up the app
1. Download the EGO Connect app from App Store for iOS devices such as iPhone or
from Google Play for Android devices.
2. Make sure that Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device and your mobile
device is connected to internet.
3. In the app, press “SIGN IN” if you already have an account or “SIGN UP” and
follow the steps to create a new account.
4. Press “+” and “–” buttons on the compact area light simultaneously until the light
is gradually fading in and out, and then enters the Bluetooth connection mode.
- If there is no operation for more than 1 minute, it will automatically exit the
Bluetooth connection mode.
- Press any key to exit the Bluetooth connection mode.
5. In the app, tap “Add Tool” and
follow the app’s instructions to
scan the QR code. The location of
the QR code and Serial Number
is shown in Fig. 6. If the app fails
to scan the QR code, you will be
prompted to manually enter the
serial number. The app will add
your compact area light to “MY
TOOLS”.
6. Follow the app’s instructions to
connect to the compact area light.
7. After the connection is successful, the light enters the constant light mode. After
turning on the light next time, it will be connected automatically.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING: When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use of any
other parts may create a hazard or cause product damage. To ensure safety and
reliability, all repairs should be performed by a qualified service technician.
WARNING: To avoid serious personal injury, always remove the battery pack
from the product when cleaning or performing any maintenance.
GENERAL MAINTENANCE
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most plastics are susceptible to
damage from various types of commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use.
Use a piece of clean cloth to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
WARNING: Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-based
products, penetrating oils, etc. come in contact with plastic parts. Chemicals can
damage, weaken or destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury.
TRANSPORT
1. Turn the light off and remove the battery pack.
2. Fold the hook (if used) back into the base of the light.
3. Carry the light by the top handle.
STORAGE
1. Turn the light off and remove the battery pack.
2. Fold the hook (if used) back into the base of the light.
3. Store the light in a dry, well-ventilated area, out of the reach of the children. Do
not store the light on or adjacent to fertilizers, gasoline, or other chemicals.

TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION

WARRANTY POLICY TERMS AND DURATION
Chervon North America, Inc. (“Chervon North America”) provides the following Limited
Warranty for EGO products to the original purchaser of EGO products.
The detailed warranty period for each EGO product can be found online at
http://egopowerplus.com/warranty-policy.
Please contact EGO Customer Service Toll-Free at 1-855-EGO-5656 any time you
have questions or warranty claims or would like a hard copy of the warranty.
LIMITED SERVICE WARRANTY
EGO products are warranted against defects in material or workmanship from the date
of original retail purchase for the applicable warranty period. For any properly and
timely submitted warranty claim, if Chervon North America determines a product to be
defective during the warranty period, the product will receive free repair or replacement
as determined by Chervon North America.
HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICE
For warranty service, within the applicable warranty period, please contact EGO
customer service toll-free at 1-855-EGO-5656. When requesting warranty service,
you must present the original dated sales receipt. An authorized service center will
be selected to evaluate and repair the product if defective according to the stated
warranty terms. When bringing your product to the authorized service center, there may
be a small deposit that will be required when dropping off your tool. This deposit is
refundable when the repair service is deemed to be covered under warranty.
ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS & EXCLUSIONS
This limited warranty applies only to the original purchaser from an authorized EGO
retailer and is not transferable. EGO products shall not be considered defective, and this
warranty will not apply, where the claimed defect is attributable to any cause other than
the above-defined defects. This warranty shall be void if the product has been used for
rental purposes. This warranty shall not apply to damage caused by accident, abuse,
misuse, alteration, modification, unauthorized repair, liquid contact, fire, earthquake or
other external cause; operating the product outside EGO’s instructions, specifications
or guidelines; or failure to properly service of maintain the product. This warranty also
does not apply to cosmetic damage, including but not limited to scratches or dents;

defects caused by normal wear and tear or otherwise due to the normal aging of the
product.
THIS EXPRESS WARRANTY IS GIVEN IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR
IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
OR FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR USE, WHICH ARE DISCLAIMED. Any implied
warranties, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose,
that cannot be disclaimed under state law are limited to the applicable warranty period
defined at the beginning of this article. The sole and exclusive remedy in connection
with the purchase, installation, use, and/or performance of the EGO products is repair
or replacement of the product as determined by Chervon North America. Chervon North
America’s maximum liability shall not in any case exceed the purchase price paid for
the product. CHERVON NORTH AMERICA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE USER OR TO
ANYONE ELSE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, INDIRECT,
OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM USE OF THE PRODUCTS, INCLUDING BUT NOT
LIMITED TO PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOST PROFITS, OR OTHER
ECONOMIC INJURY. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have
other rights which vary from state to state. Some states do not allow limitations on how
long an implied warranty lasts, the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential
damages, or the limitations on time to bring certain actions, so such limitations
contained herein do not apply to individual consumers in those states.
