Connecting Terminal Interface
Hardware Setup
To communicate with the bootloader a RS232 terminal interface is used. Use the null
modem cable to connect the DSUB-connector with a free serial port of your PC.
Please use the following conguration for your terminal software:
Baudrate: 115,2k Stopbits: 1
Databits: 8 Flow control: none
Parity: none

Connecting Ethernet Interface
Use the Ethernet interface for fast software updates or Internet communication. Just
connect the hardware and your Ethernet switch to an Ethernet cable.
Because emtrion uses dierent Ethernet Controllers on the DIMM modules the voltage for the
LAN transformer must be congured depending on the used CPU module. You can set the voltage with
the jumper J4 on the DIMM-Base Verno.
The following table shows the position of the jumper
according to the CPU module:
CPU module J4 CPU module J4
DIMM-SH7723 1V8 DIMM-MX257 3V3
DIMM-SH7724 3V3 DIMM-MX53 3V3 CPU module J4
DIMM-EMEV2 1V8 DIMM-MX6 3V3 DIMM-AM335 3V3
Software Setup
DIMM-Base provides a generic connector for TFT-Displays (including touch panels). Each display kit
includes a TFT-Display, a touch panel (resistive or capacitive) as well as an adapter in order to directly
connect the kit to DIMM-Base Verno.
Display Kit
Congratulation! You have now connected your emtrion Developer Kit to the Host PC and you will shortly be
able to start application development.
Please continue the installation process using the software manual in the „documents“ folder on the DVD in
order to get the development environment up and running.
Install Software
DIMM-Base Verno provides two RS232-UART interfaces on DB9 connectors. DIMM modu-
les provide more than two UART and these additional UART are available as TTL signals
on headers. ADA_232 is an adapter cable that can be directly plugged into the headers
to provide RS232 signals on a DB9 connector.
DIMM-Base Verno provides up to two CAN busses as TTL signals on headers. ADA_CAN
is an adapter cable that can be directly plugged into the headers and that integrates a
high speed CAN transceiver and provides a DB9 connector.
DIMM-Base provides two connectors for CMOS camera sensors. This camera set includes a CMOS
camera sensor, an objective and an adapter cable to directly connect it to DIMM-Base Verno.
This small adapter includes some LEDs and buttons that can be controlled by the CPU‘s GPIOs.
