Keep this manual for future reference.
This kit is intended for use with cradle-style kayak carriers (not included).
Do not exceed the carrier’s load capacity.
Do not exceed the loading capacity of cross bars.
Do not modify this product or use it for unintended purpose.
Check the condition of the straps and anchors before each use. Do not use if any parts are damaged. Contact
etrailer.com for replacement of damaged parts.
Secure bow and stern to vehicle with included straps.
Periodically check the condition of the straps when traveling long distances and retighten if necessary.
This kit is intended for use with kayaks and similar single occupant watercraft. Use with items and watercraft that does
not fit this description could cause damage and injury to user or others.
Take the height of the load on your vehicle roof into consideration while driving through limited spaces such as
tunnels, garages, parking structures, etc.
Store the straps in a dry and cool place when not in use. Remove all salt and debris from product after use for best
results. Keep out of reach of children.
Parts List:

1. With another person’s help, load the kayak onto car rooftop and center the kayak on two folding cradles (not
included). Make sure the cockpit is facing toward you. See Fig. 1.
2. Route the free end of strap (B) around the top of the outer frame of folding cradle. Pull and route both the buckle end and
free end of strap (B) over the kayak. Pull down the free end of strap (B) until the buckle end is positioned halfway up the
side of the kayak. Thread the free end of strap (B) down and under the cross bar. See Fig. 2.
3. Press buckle on strap (B) and insert free end of strap (B) through the buckle. Pull down the free end of strap (B) to tighten.
Wrap the free end through the elastic cord to avoid the excessive strap flapping in the wind. See Fig. 3.
When the strap is tightened, move neoprene protector to cover the buckle to prevent scratches.
Repeat steps2and step 3for the other folding cradle.

c)Insert loop end of strap (D) through the loop of the anchor strap (A) and guide the free end of strap (D) through the loop end of the strap (D) itself.
Pull to tighten the knot. See Fig. 7.
d) Press the buckle of strap (C) and feed the free end of strap (D) through the buckle. Pull the free end to tighten.
Move the neoprene protector to cover the buckle to prevent paintwork scratches. See Fig. 8& 9.

Notes: Apply even pressure to the bow and stern. Wrap excessive strap to avoid it flapping in the wind.
b)Place one anchor strap (A) inside the vehicle hood (Fig. 5) and the other inside trunk hatch (Fig. 6).

Close the hood and hatch and keep the loop end on each strap protruding out through the edge to provide a secure anchor point.
Caution: Remove anchor strap (A) when not in use.
4. Tie the bow and stern to vehicle using strap (C) and strap (D).
a) Insert the loop end of strap (C) through the rescue bars or grab handles of kayak. Feed the buckle end of strap (C) through the loop end
and pull the buckle end to tighten. See Fig. 4.

5. Rock the kayak to ensure it is firmly secured. Retighten the straps if loose.
