NOTE: Rear Panel color coding
GREEN = Input
RED = Output
Input 1
Input 1 s a pr or ty nput. Th s nput funct ons the same as
the other nput channels but offers some added features su table for
pag ng m crophones. Pr or ty means “overr de”. S mply stated the
m crophone or l ne level s gnal w ll overr de all other nputs.
RCA
UNBALANCED
- These jacks accept l ne level s gnals from CD's,
DVD's, tuners etc. Th s s an unbalanced nput that sums the s gnal to
mono. The INPUT LEVEL knob does not affect the RCA nput level.
BALANCED -
Th s s a balanced three-p n detachable term nal block
connector that w ll accept m crophone or l ne level sources. You can
also connect an unbalanced source by connect ng the HOT to + and
connect ng the COLD or (return) to G term nal. The INPUT LEVEL
control affects the nput level for the term nal block nput jack.
INPUT LEVEL
– Th s rotary control adjusts the nput level for the
term nal block connector only. Use th s to match the correct nput level
based on the s gnal strength of the dev ce connected. A good start ng
po nt s the 12:00 pos t on. If you hear d stort on turn the control
counter clockw se. Turn th s control clockw se to ncrease the nput
level.

VOX SENS
– Th s rotary control adjusts the sens t v ty of the overr de
c rcu t. Turn ng the VOX SENS control clockw se tr ggers the auto
sens ng c rcu t on weaker nput s gnals. Turn ng the VOX SENS control
counter clockw se tr ggers the auto sens ng c rcu t on stronger nput
s gnals. Th s control w ll funct on only when the PRIORITY #4 d psw tch
s ON. Start at the 12:00 pos t on. If the overr de cuts n and out when
there s no page s gnal present (called false tr gger ng) then reduce
the SENS by turn ng counter clockw se. If the lead ng edge of the page
s cut off ncrease the sens t v ty by turn ng the SENS control
clockw se.
DIP SWITCH 1
24v PHT – Th s sw tch appl es 24v to the + and – p ns
of the term nal block BALANCED jack. Th s feature prov des phantom
power for condenser m crophones. NOTE: always set the 24v PHT
d psw tch UP or OFF f a l ne level source or dynam c m crophone
source s connected where phantom power s not needed.
DIP SWITCH 2
MIC/LINE – Th s sw tch adjusts the sens t v ty of the
term nal block BALANCED jack between m crophone level s gnals and
l ne level s gnals. Set the sw tch up for l ne level and down for
m crophones. Note: l ne level sources w ll overload the BALANCED
nput f the d psw tch s set to MIC. If the d psw tch s set to LINE and a
m crophone s connected the nput level w ll be too low. Always make
sure th s d psw tch s set appropr ately for the dev ce that s
connected.

DIP SWITCH 3
-100Hz HPF - W th th s sw tch ON all frequenc es below
100Hz w ll be cut at 18dB per octave. Use th s sw tch w th
m crophones to roll off unwanted low frequency rumbles and m n m zes
pops from mouth no ses.
DIP SWITCH 4
PRIORITY – W th th s sw tch ON the source connected
to the term nal block BALANCED connector w ll overr de all other
nputs. Th s s commonly used for pag ng m crophones where the
background mus c source would be connected to the AUX nput and a
pag ng m crophone would be connected to nput 1. When the
m crophone s gnal s broadcast the background mus c source w ll
automat cally mute and then return to normal after the broadcast s
complete.
AUX INPUT his is an unbalanced dual RCA input that automatically sums the stereo
signal to mono. Connect your background music source such as a CD or DVD player
here. Note: when a hand held device such as an i Pod is plugged into the front panel
MP3 jack the MP3 jack will override the back panel AUX input.
TEL INPUT
– Th s s a balanced aud o nput that s des gned to accept
s gnals from an analog telephone output. Due to the var ed output
levels from d fferent telephone systems we have prov ded a level
control that allows prec se level adjustments.
NOTE:
The TEL INPUT automat cally overr des all s gnals n the pre-
ampl f er and broadcasts the page when an announcement s made
through the telephone system.

REMOTE MUTE
– The MUTE contacts can be used to nstantly mute
background mus c sources for mmed ate pag ng or emergency
s tuat ons. S mply short the MUTE contacts w th a sw tch or external
contact closure from the opt onal V-RMC and all nputs w ll mute w th
the except on of the PRIORITY nputs. PRIORITY nputs w ll funct on as
normal prov ded the PRIORITY funct on s ON. NOTE: When us ng the
V-RVC for a remote mus c nput t s recommended to short the mute
contacts. The V-RVC w ll overr de other mus c sources that may be
connected to the ampl f er.
BRIDGING INPUT/OUTPUT
– Many nstallat ons requ re flex b l ty
where mult ple ampl f ers need to be comb ned for large room
act v t es and then separated for smaller mult ple room act v t es. Th s
s referred to as room comb n ng. Factor Electron cs ampl f ers offer
th s feature w th s mple easy to use br dg ng term nals. These
term nals prov de a way to send and rece ve balanced l ne level aud o
from the nternal m xer of the preampl f er. The br dg ng term nals
balanced s gnal can be sent long d stances w thout ntroduc ng no se or
nterference us ng 22 AWG or 24 AWG sh elded two conductor stranded
copper w re.
Connect the br dg ng + / -- / G term nals of one Factor Electron cs
ampl f er to the same term nals on another Factor Electron cs ampl f er.
The ampl f ers w ll operate ndependently unt l the SEL contacts are
shorted.

Rear Panel Operations and Connections
SEL CONTACTS
-
Short ng the SEL term nals us ng a sw tch or
external contact closure w ll comb ne the pre-amp s gnals n both the
ampl f ers and mult ple ampl f ers. We recommend us ng the V-RMC
wall plate sw tch, wh ch prov des room comb n ng for up to f ve
ampl f ers. The ampl f ers w ll operate as one larger ampl f er. It s
poss ble to connect mult ple ampl f ers to create a room comb n ng
system. When connect ng mult ple ampl f ers together you may need
to adjust the volume levels on the nd v dual ampl f ers to create a
well-balanced m x.
NOTE:
To comb ne two or more ampl f ers the SEL contacts must be
shorted on each ampl f er you w sh to comb ne.
EXAMPLE:
Connect the br dge term nals of amp 1 to amp 2. Short the
SEL contacts on amp 1. The amps w ll not comb ne. Short the SEL
contacts on both amps 1 & 2 and the amps w ll comb ne. Any source
that s connected to e ther amp w ll broadcast on both amps.
V RMC We recommend using the factor Electronics
V-RMC to short the SEL contacts on Factor Electronics
Amplifiers. he V-RMC provides five latching switches
hat can be used to short the SEL contacts or the MU E
contacts.
