appliance with lukewarm water and bicarbonate o
soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre o water).
Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may
linger. Dry thoroughly.
Setting the temperature
The temperature inside the re rigerator and the
reezer is regulated by a single thermostat with 6
temperature positions and an “OFF” (O) position.
Position 1 = minimum coldness
Position 6 = maximum coldness
Turn the thermostat dial to the required position.
The intermediate position is usually the most
suitable (3-4).
The thermostat setting can vary as the temperature
inside the re rigeration compartment depends on the
ollowing actors:
– room temperature
– how o ten the door is opened
– how much ood is stored
– position o the appliance
Important
During prolonged periods o abnormally hot weather,
i the thermostat is set on too high a number, the
cooling system may operate continuously and the
ridge cooling plate may not de rost. Turning the knob
to a lower number will cause the automatic
de rosting to resume.
Low Room Temperature Switch
To ensure that the appliance is working e iciently
when the room temperature drops below 16°C, the
switch mounted next to the thermostat control should
be switched on.
No damage can be caused by leaving the switch in

room temperature operation). However should the
temperature rise above 16°C remember to turn the
switch o again.
The reezer compartment
The our-star reezer compartment is suitable or
storage o commercially rozen ood and or reezing
resh oods.

when reezing resh ood. Depress the ambient
switch at least 12 hours be ore loading ood to be
rozen.
In any 24 hours you can reeze up to 10 kg. o resh
ood.
Place ood to be rozen in the upper drawer o the
reezer as this is the coldest part.
I large quantities o ood are to be stored , remove
all drawers and baskets rom the appliance and
place ood on cooling shelves. Pay care ul attention
not to exceed load limit

Caution
In the event o a power cut the ood in the reezer will
not be a ected i the power cut is short and i the

being pumped round, and you will hear a whirring
sound or pulsating noise rom the compressor.
• A thermostat controls the compressor, and you
will hear a aint ’click’ when the thermostat cuts in

and place them in the reezer compartment.
To release the ice cubes simply give the tray a slight
twist.
Do not use sharp or metallic instruments to remove
the trays rom the reezer.
Fresh ood re rigeration
To obtain the best per ormance, do not store warm
ood or evaporating liquids in the re rigerator; do
cover or wrap the ood, particularly i it has a strong

airtight containers or wrapped in aluminium oil or
polythene bags to exclude as much air as possible.
Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be
stored in the bottle rack on the door.
Thawing
Frozen ood, prior to being used, can be thawed in
the ridge or at room temperature depending on the
time available. Small ood items may even be cooked
rom rozen; in this case cooking will take longer.
Any rozen ood which is allowed to thaw accidentally
should either be eaten as soon as possible or thrown
away. Alternatively, i the ood is uncooked and has
not been completely de rosted it can be cooked and
then re rozen.
Meat, ish and ruit should be thawed in the
re rigerator compartment and small pieces o meat
can even be cooked while still rozen, but you must
ensure that it is thoroughly cooked through.
Vegetables should be directly immersed in boiling
water; ready-cooked dishes can be placed directly in
the oven in their aluminium wrapping.
A microwave oven is particularly suitable or thawing
any type o rozen or deep- rozen ood: ollow the
oven instructions, particularly regarding the
placement o aluminium wrapping or containers in
the oven.
De rosted cooked ood must never be re rozen.
Frozen ood storage
When irst starting-up or a ter a period o non use,
be ore putting the products in the reezer
compartment let the appliance run or at least two
hours on the coldest setting, then turn the thermostat
knob to the normal opertion position.
Do not exceed the storage period indicated by the
manu acturer.
Finally, do not open the door requently or leave it
open longer than is absolutely necessary.
Important
Do not put carbonated liquids, ( izzy drinks etc.), in
the reezer compartment.
Ice Iollies, i consumed immediately a ter removal
rom the reezer, can cause low temperature skin
burns.
Do not remove items rom the reezer i your hands
are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or
“ rost/ reezer burns”.

polythene bags to exclude as much air as possible.
Milk bottles: these should have a cap and should be
stored in the bottle rack on the door.
Thawing
Frozen ood, prior to being used, can be thawed in
the ridge or at room temperature depending on the
time available. Small ood items may even be cooked

Setting the temperature
The temperature inside the re rigerator and the
reezer is regulated by a single thermostat with 6

when the room temperature drops below 16°C, the
switch mounted next to the thermostat control should
be switched on.
No damage can be caused by leaving the switch in

temperature rise above 16°C remember to turn the
switch o again.
The reezer compartment
The our-star reezer compartment is suitable or
storage o commercially rozen ood and or reezing
resh oods.
Freezing resh ood
It is not necessary to adjust the thermostat setting
when reezing resh ood.
Pay care ul attention
not to exceed load limit
stated on the side o the upper section (where
applicable).
Caution
In the event o a power cut the ood in the reezer will
not be a ected i the power cut is short and i the
reezer is ull. Do not open the door. Should the ood
begin to thaw, it must be consumed quickly and must
not be re- rozen.
