1. MASTER VOLUME
Use this control to adjust the global volume of the piano. It is advised

When using headphones, this dial is used to control the level of the
headphones also.
2. POWER
Use this switch to power on the device when it is connected to the
mains.
3. USB DRIVE
Insert a compatible USB flash drive (not included) to play MP3 files
through the piano’s internal speakers.
4. HEADPHONES OUTPUTS
Two sets of standard headphones can be connected via the
headphones outputs for private practice. The internal speakers are
automatically muted when headphones are connected to headphones
1 jack.
REAR CONNECTION PANEL
5. USB TO HOST
The HDP-1 allows the transfer of MIDI via USB from the piano to an
audio interface or “host.” Use the audio interface to control the MIDI
signal.
6. AUX OUTPUT
The 3.5mm can be used to connect the piano to a compatible external
sound system, such as a keyboard amplifier, interface, or mixer.
7. AUX INPUT
The 3.5mm AUX IN stereo inputs allow you to mix an external
sound source (such as a smartphone or MP3 player) with the piano’s

Foot Pedals
After following the included assembly guide, and before powering on
the piano, please ensure that the foot pedals cable is connected to the
pedal input jack on the rear connection panel.
The HDP-1 features a three-pedal unit, providing the same pedal
configuration as a grand piano.
SOFT PEDAL (LEFT)
Pressing the soft pedal will change the character of the notes played,
making them softer and quieter.
SOSTENUTO PEDAL(CENTRE)
The sostenuto pedal is similar to the damper pedal, however pressing
this pedal will only sustain the noted being played when the pedal is
pressed. Any notes played after the pedal is pressed/held down will
not sustain.
DAMPER/SUSTAIN PEDAL (RIGHT)
When the sustain pedal is pressed down, the sound of all notes played
will sustain, even after releasing the keys.
“Half pedalling” is possible, meaning the sustain duration will depend
how far the pedal is pressed down, a response similar to the delicate
controls found on acoustic pianos.
ROTARYEFFECTS
When the FX option is set to ROTARY, the soft pedal (left) and
sostenuto pedal (middle) will control the rotary eect. In this mode, the
left pedal controls the rotary eect speed and the middle pedal stops
the rotary eect. Please note, the rotary eect is only applied to the
main selected voice.

There are 80 in-built rhythms on the HDP-1 to play along to.

The HDP-1 features a versatile auto accompaniment system that can
provide rhythmic accompaniment to a diverse range of musical genres.
Either drum beats only or chordal accompaniment (drums and chord
parts together) can be selected, both providing a great way to add
depth to your piano performances.
Starting Auto Accompaniment
1. Drum Beat only – after selecting a rhythm, press the START/
STOP button on the playback screen to start and stop the drum
accompaniment.
2. Chordal Accompaniment – after selecting a rhythm, turn on the
ACCOMP button and play a chord in the low range
(piano keys A0 to F#3).
There are four types of chord input methods:
1. Single Finger – enter chords of up to three keys.
2. Fingered – the full chord is only detected when it is correctly played
in the low range (piano keys A0 to F#3).
3. Multi-Finger (Default) – both Single Fingered and Fingered methods
can be used in this mode.
4. Full Keyboard – this mode recognises chords played on all
piano keys.
