1.1 Safe driving
1.1.1 Overview
This section describes important information,
operating essentials, recommendations and
safety precautions for safe driving. For your
safety and the safety of your passengers,
please read carefully and comply with the rel-
evant regulations.
Warning
Keep this owner’s manual in your vehicle.
Please make sure the manual stays with
the vehicle if you lend or sell it to the next
owner. It is an integral part of the vehicle.
You should do the following checks and adjust-
ments every day before you drive your vehicle:
- Check and make sure that all car lamps
are under normal working condition.
- Check fuel volume.
- Make sure that tire pressure is under
normal condition.
- Make sure all windows are clean and un-
obstructed.
- Make sure that no items obstruct the
pedal movement in the footwell.
- Adjust seats, head restraints and rear
view mirrors of driver according to height
and body type.
- Restrain the child in a suitable child seat.
Check that the child’s seat belt is prop-
erly positioned and secured.
- Fasten your seat belt. Check that your
passengers have fastened their seat
belts
Note
• Do notdistractfromdrivingbe-
cause of external factors.
• Donotdriveyourvehiclewhenyour
reaction capacity weakens. Medi-
cines, alcohol, drugs and other will
undermine your reaction capacity.
• Followthetrafficlawsandspeed

1.1.2 Maintain a Proper Sit-
ting Position
Correct sitting posture of the driver
Correct driving posture has a direct influence
on driving safety and fatigue.
For your safety and the safety of your passen-
gers, to reduce the risk of accidental injuries
and deaths, we recommend driver do the fol-
lowing:
- Adjust the seat backrest to proper posi-
tion, so that your back can suitably con-
tact with driver’s seat backrest.
- Adjust driver’s seat headrest, so that the
central back side of head can just rest on
the center of headrest.
25cm
OMA28-0047
- Adjust driver's seat in forward and back-
ward direction. Make your leg slightly
bent, and take active operation to ac-
celerator pedal, brake pedal and clutch
pedal (for model equipped with manual-
transmission).
- Adjust steering wheel to ensure that
the distance between steering wheel
and your breast should not be less than
25cm.
- Wear seat belts properly (see Page 14).
Warning
Incorrect driving posture can lead to the
following serious consequences:
• Ifyourchestistoocloseto the
steering wheel, you cannot get ef-
fectiveprotectionfromairbags,and
canbeseriouslyinjuredbyaninat-
ingfrontairbag.
• Yourhandsshouldalwayshold

Correct sitting position of front
seat passenger
For the safety of front seat passengers, to re-
duce the risk of accidental injuries and deaths,
have rear seat passengers do the following:
- The front seat passenger should move
the seat as far back as possible, leave
ample space between his/her chest and
the instrument panel, so as to get the
most safety protection by an inflating
front airbag.
- Adjust front passenger seat headrest to
make it align with head.
- Adjust the backrest of front passenger
seat to make backside ts backrest.
- Wear the seat belt correctly.
- Keep his/her feet in the foot room in front
of the front passenger seat.
Warning
Incorrect sitting posture of the front seat
passenger can lead to serious conse-
quences:
• Ifthe frontseatpassengersitstoo

she cannot get effective protection
fromairbags.
• Whiledriving,donotallowthefront

Correct sitting position of rear seat
passengers
For the safety of rear seat passengers, to re-
duce the risk of accidental injuries and deaths,
have rear seat passengers do the following:
- Adjust the head restraint of rear seat ac-
cording to the height so the center of the
back of the head rests against the center
of the restraint.
- Sit upright and well back in the seat.
- Keephis/her feet in the foot room in front
of the rear sea and on the oor.
- Wear seat belts properly (see Page 14).
- Whenever an infant or child rides in your
vehicle, take appropriate measures in
accordance with the relevant provisions,
e.g., using a suitable child seat to re-
strain the infant or child (see page 28).

If the occurrence of severe collision reaches
triggering condition,the pretensioner on safety
belt is triggered by electronic control unit, pre-
tensioner drives safety belt ribbon to pull back
and tighten reversely and quickly. In the earlier
stage when a collision happens, it restrains
driver and passengers and makes them stay in
an appropriate sitting posture, preventing the
excessive bending forward of body. In the ear-
lier stage when a collision happens, it restrains
driver and passengers and makes them stay in
an appropriate sitting posture, preventing the
excessive bending forward of body.

1. Safety Instructions
1.2.2 Why Wear Seat Belts
Seat belt can reduce impact injury of the pas-
senger as much as possible by reducing pas-
senger's forward movement inertia when a
front collision of the car occurs.
PhysicalPrinciplesofFrontalIm-
pact
While driving, both the vehicle and the oc-
cupants have energy (kinetic energy) which
depends on the vehicle speed and the occu-
pants’ mass. The larger the vehicle speed and
the mass, the more the energy upon impact.
In which, the vehicle speed is decisive. For ex-
ample, the released kinetic energy at 50km/h is
5 times that at 25 km/h.
OMA28-0157
During a crash, the occupants not wearing
the seat belts still move forward at the speed
before the crash due to inertia, but the vehicle
dose not. As a result, the occupants can be in-
jured seriously.

1. Safety Instructions
Consequences arising from not
wearingtheseatbelts
OMA28-0132
Even if the car is at low speed, the force ex-
erted on human body, when a collision occurs,
is big, and the passenger can control his own
body by hands. The unrestrained passengers
will be thrown forward and injuredonce colliding
with other articles in the car.
OMA28-0131
The rear seat passengers must wear the seat
belts properly as well. Otherwise, the passen-
gers can be thrown forward during a crash. The
rear seat passengers not wearing the seat belts
can be injured and endanger other occupants.

1. Safety Instructions
Protectionfromseatbelts
Correct wearing of seat belt can restrain pas-
sengers on proper position and avoid injury,
prevent the driver from moving and avoid pas-
sengers being thrown away.
The seat belts can absorb most of the kinetic
energy resulting from a crash. In addition, the
crush zones and other passive safety systems
can absorb the energy at the same time to re-
duce the risk of injury further together with the
seat belts.
