Introduction
Thank you for choosing this split air conditioner to provide you and your family
with all of the “Home Comfort” requirements for your home, or office. The
appliance can be moved from room to room within your home and set-up in
just minutes.
It is a multi-functional room air exchanging, air-processing appliance,
designed to offer you the functions of: Air Conditioning, Dehumidifying, and
Independent Fan control.
This manual will provide you with valuable information necessary for the
proper care and maintenance for your new appliance. Read these instructions
fully before operating the unit and retain them for future reference. If properly
maintained your appliance will give you many years of trouble free operation.

SAFETY NOTES
1. Do not connect to any AC socket outlet that is damaged.
2. Do not use in the following locations:-
Next to a source of fire.
An area where oil is likely to splash.
An area exposed to direct sunlight.
An area where water is likely to splash
Near a bath, shower or a swimming pool
In a greenhouse
3. Never insert your finger or any foreign objects into the air outlet or any other openings
in the machine. Take special care to warn children of these dangers.
4. Always store the unit upright in order to maintain the compressor in a proper working
condition. If not, leave the unit upright for at least 24 hours before operating.
5. Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
6. Do not cover the unit.
7. Do not place the back of the indoor unit closer that 10cm from a wall.
8. Do not place the indoor unit close to curtains or drapes in case they fall against the
unit and block the rear intake.
9. If the supply cord of this appliance becomes damaged, it must be replace by a
qualified engineer.
10. This appliance is fitted with an approved BS 1363 13A 3 pin plug and a 13A BS 1362
fuse. In the event of either requiring replacement ensure that equivalent rated and
approved components are used. See plug replacement details below.
11. IMPORTANT: If the indoor unit is sited in a room containing a fuel burning appliance,
the installer must ensure that the air replacement is sufficient for both the unit used as
an air conditioner and the fuel burning appliance
PLUG REPLACEMENT
If the plug is damaged and requires replacement, follow the wiring instructions supplied with
the new plug.
1. The green and yellow wire must be
connected to the terminal marked with
the letter E or the earth symbol.
2. The blue wire must be connected to
the terminal marked with the letter N.
3. The brown wire must be connected
to the terminal marked with the letter L.
4. A 13 amp plug to BS 1363 must be
fitted with a 13 Amp fuse to BS 1362.
For your safety and protection, this unit is earthed through the power cord plug when plugged
into a matching earthed wall socket. If you are not sure whether the wall sockets in your
home are properly earthed, consult a qualified electrician. Do not use plug adaptors or
extension cords with this unit.

Warning
In order to ensure the long, reliable and safe functioning of the air conditioner,
the following safety points should be observed.

Identification of Parts

Installation of the Indoor Unit
Note:- With all the various methods of installation detailed below it is important
to ensure there are no kinks, twists or sharp bends in the umbilical cord.
Method 1
The umbilical chord cord can pass though a partly
open door or window.
Note
The rear of the indoor unit must be spaced away from
curtains and drapes by at least 10cm.
Method 2
The plastic frame (supplied) can be fitted into a
suitable cut-out in the window frame.
The umbilical cord can then be passed though the
plastic frame.
Note
When the air conditioner is stored away the blanking
cap attached to the plastic frame should be fitted in
place to blank off the aperture.
Method 3 (Semi-permanent installation)
The umbilical cord can be passed through a hole in
the wall. If this method is chosen, the hole should be
fitted with the plastic frame supplied and the umbilical
cord should be disconnected* and then passed
through the frame/wall.
*See the section entitled “Disconnection
and Connection”.
Note
If you are not happy about disconnecting and re-
connecting the umbilical cord, request the help of a
local service engineer.
Soap suds should be used to check for refrigerant
leaks after re-connection.
When the air conditioner is stored away the blanking
cap attached to the plastic frame should be fitted in
place to blank off the aperture in the wall.

Installation of the Outdoor Unit
Method 1
The outdoor unit can be placed directly on a patio or
balcony and when used in this way it does not
require the use of the fixing brackets or straps.
Note
It is necessary to leave a gap of at least 5cm
between the rear of the unit and the outside wall and
also to ensure that no large objects are placed
closer than 120cm from the front of the unit.
Make sure that the drainage pipe is not pinched by
the outdoor unit.
Method 2
The outdoor unit may be mounted on the wall by
means of the enclosed accessories (mounting
brackets, wall plugs and screws).
Note
When using this method you can extend the
drainage tube and direct it to where you wish the
water to discharge. You can lift the outside unit off
the brackets at any time.
If you intend the installation of the outdoor unit to be
permanent, it is recommended that a waterproof
cover is made to prevent water getting into the unit
during heavy rain.
Method 3
For short term installations the support belts and
hooks (supplied) can be used to hang the unit
outside the window.
Note
Always attach the belts to the mounting brackets of
the unit and do not tie them to the carrying handle.
During time of heavy rain and high wind, it is
recommended to keep the unit suitably covered to
prevent water getting into the unit.
Attention
Always switch the air conditioner off before bringing the
outdoor unit indoors. If you do not do this, any water that
may have collected in the internal water container within the
unit may activate the water pump and cause the water to be
expelled via the drain tube fitted to the outdoor unit.

Operation
CONTROL PANEL
CONTROLS
Cooling Control
This control sets the desired temperature and the compressor will turn off when this
temperature is reached but the fan will continue running. When the room temperature rises
the compressor will come back on and resume the cooling operation. If maximum cooling is
required, this control should be turned to the CONT position.
Fan Speed Control
This control sets the fan speed in FAN ONLY or COOLING operation.
Timer Control
This control allows you to set the time that you wish the machine to run, in one hour intervals
(up to 8 hours). The machine will stop when the selected time has expired.
If it is required that the machine runs continuously the control should be set to the CONT
position.
Water Full Alarm
The GPACU12H has a unique system to dispel condensation automatically but in certain
circumstances some water may collect in the water tank within the machine. When this tank
becomes full, the water full indicator will illuminate red and the machine will stop working.
When this occurs it is necessary to drain the water from the machine by removing the rubber
bung from the hose at the rear of the unit. After draining the water, the bung should be
replaced in the hose and the unit switched on. If after draining the tank, the warning light
remains on, this could indicate that there may be a fault with the machine. If this is the case,
do not attempt to operate the machine and call the service number.
Note: When the Alarm light is on, the water should be drained
out. If the water is not drained out, the appliance will not
operate.

Disconnection and Reconnection
(The following procedures should be carried out by a suitably qualified
person to avoid expensive mistakes).
Steps in Disconnection
1. Turn off the air conditioner and remove the
plug from the power socket.
Caution
When the machine has been turned off it must be
left to stand for 30 minutes to allow the system to
stabilise before disconnection can be carried out.
2. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove
the cover.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector by
pressing the retaining clips.
4. Remove the metal holding brackets
5. Remove the insulating foam around the
upper connector.
6. Use the 2 spanners provided to disconnect
the 2 pipes.
Caution
Make sure the tubes and connectors are kept level
while disconnecting to avoid leakage of coolant.
7. Screw the protective caps onto the ends of
each pipe after disconnection.
8. Separate the clamping tie on the black
water pipe. Gradually release the water
pipe and place your finger over the end to
prevent water in the tube coming out. Have
a container ready to collect any excess
water from the tube.

Steps in Reconnection
●Always remember to keep the connecting
pipes level with the connecting point when re-
assembling.
Caution
●When reconnecting the unit follow the above
steps in reverse.
●Use your fingers to connect the threads and
then tighten fully with the spanners provided.
●After connection, use soap suds to check for
leaks in the coolant pipes.
Please Note
The above procedures should be followed each time
the units are disconnected and reconnected.
