SETUP AND SAFETY --------------------------------------------------------------
This device is intended for the reproduction of video and audio
signals. Any other use is expressly prohibited.
The device is designed for use in dry rooms. If you do use it outdoors,
make sure it is protected from moisture such as dripping or splashing
water.
If the device is exposed to sudden changes in temperature, for ex-
ample when taken from the cold into a warm room, wait at least two
hours before using it.
Place the device on a hard, level surface. Do not place any objects
such as newspapers on the digital picture frame or put any cloth or
similar items underneath it.
Do not place the device close to heating units or in direct sunlight, as
this will impair cooling.
Do not place any vessels, such as vases, on the device as they may
tip over and spill the liquid, which poses an electrical hazard.
Do not place any naked flames such as candles on the device or in
close proximity.
Thunderstorms are a danger to all electrical devices. Even if the de-
vice is switched off, it can be damaged by a lightning strike to the
mains. Always remove the mains adapter during a thunder storm.
Never open the device under any circumstances. No warranty
claims are accepted for damage caused by improper handling.
When deciding where to put the device, remember that furniture is
often coated with various types of varnish and plastic. Many of these
contain chemicals which can corrode the feet of the device, leaving
marks on the surface of the furniture which can be difficult or im-
possible to remove.
Do not use any cleaning agents as they may damage the housing.
Clean the device with a clean dry cloth.
Make sure the power supply unit is not damaged.
Only operate the device with the power supply unit provided.
Note:
Do not connect any other equipment while the device is switched
on. Switch off the other devices as well before connecting them.
Only plug the device into the mains socket after you have con-
nected the external devices.

The screen of your digital picture frame meets the highest quality
standards and has been checked for pixel faults.
Despite the great care taken in manufacturing, technological reasons
make it impossible to completely discount the possibility that some
pixels may be faulty.
Provided they are within the thresholds specified by the DIN norm,
pixel faults of this kind cannot be regarded as a defect as defined by
the warranty.

The remote control
8Switches the digital picture frame to and from
standby mode.
SETUP Opens the »Setup« menu.
AIn the menus: moves the cursor up. In playback
mode: selects the next file or the next track.
In zoom mode: moves the picture section up.
SIn the menus: moves the cursor down. In play-
back mode: selects the previous file or the pre-
vious track.
In zoom mode: moves the picture section
down.
aIn the menus: moves the cursor to the left.
Changes settings.
In playback mode: rotates pictures.

Setting up the digital picture frame
1Place the base of the digital picture frame in the centre of the
stand supplied.
Note:
Make sure the catch on the stand latches into place in the recess
on the base of the digital picture frame
or
position the digital picture frame vertically in the stand supplied.
Note:
Make sure the catch on the stand latches into place in one of the
recesses on the side of the digital picture frame.
Note:
Be careful of any memory cards when doing this. The vertical
position is not possible with some memory cards.
Removing the protective foil
1Pull back the protective foil on the front of the digital picture
frame.

Activating the remote control battery
1When using it for the first time, activate the remote control battery
by pulling out the film protruding from the battery holder.
Changing the battery
1Pull out the battery holder.
2When inserting the battery (3 V, lithium), make sure the positive
terminal (+) of the battery and the (+) sign on the holder are on
the same side.
3Push the battery holder back into the remote control until it latches
into place.
Notes:
Do not expose the battery to extreme heat, caused for example
by direct sunlight, heaters or fire.
If the digital picture frame no longer reacts properly to remote
control commands, the battery may be flat. Always remove used
batteries. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage
caused by leaking batteries.
Environmental note:
Batteries, including those which do not contain heavy metal,
should not be disposed of with household waste. Always dispose
of used batteries in accordance with local environmental
regulations.
Connecting the mains adapter
Note:
Check that the mains voltage on the type plate (on the back of
the mains adapter) corresponds to your local mains supply. If this
is not the case, contact your specialist dealer.
1Insert the plug of the power supply unit into the »DC« socket on
the back of the device.
2Plug the power supply unit into the mains.
Caution:
The device is connected to the mains with the power supply unit.
Unplug the power supply unit to completely disconnect the device
from the mains.
Unplug the power supply unit to disconnect the device from the
mains. Make sure the power supply unit is easily accessible
during operation and not hindered by other objects.

Connecting or inserting data media
Note:
Before inserting or connecting a memory card or USB memory
stick, switch off the digital picture frame with »ON/OFF«.
Switch the digital picture frame on again once you have con-
nected it up.
Even if you remove the memory card or USB memory stick, the
digital picture frame must be switched off, otherwise files can be
damaged.
Inserting a memory card
The digital picture frame supports memory cards in SD, SDHC,
MMC, MS and CF formats.
1Regardless of the format, insert the card carefully into the
»SD/MMC/MS« or »CF« card slot (rear panel, left) with the
contacts facing to the rear until it latches into place.
Note:
Do not use excessive force when inserting the memory card. Only
apply slight pressure.
The memory cards are resistant to dirt and moisture, but may only
be inserted into the digital picture frame in a dry and clean con-
dition.
Never remove memory cards during operation. This can damage
the memory card. This type of damage will invalidate your
warranty.

1Pull out the memory card.

Connecting a USB memory stick
1Connect the USB stick into the »USB HOST« port on the digital
picture frame.
Connecting an MP3 player
1Connect the USB port of the MP3 player to the »USB« socket on
the digital picture frame using a standard USB cable.
Connecting to a computer
1Switch on the computer.
2Switch off the digital picture frame with »ON/OFF«.
3If applicable, remove the USB memory stick or MP3 player.
4Connect the USB socket on the digital picture frame to the USB
socket on the computer using the USB cable.
5Switch on the digital picture frame with »ON/OFF«.
– A display appears as soon as the connection is made.

Disconnecting from the computer
If there is no data transfer in progress, you can disconnect the digital
picture frame from the computer.
You must first remove the digital picture frame from the Windows
desktop by following the Windows instructions for “Removing hard-
ware”.
Note:
Do not disconnect the digital picture frame from the computer
while a data transfer is in progress. This can damage the data ir-
reparably.
1Double click the icon for removing hardware.
– The “Remove hardware” window appears.
2To continue, follow the instructions on the screen.
Note:
The circuits of the digital picture frame and the computer can be
seriously damaged if you do not follow the instructions for Win-
dows ME / 2000 / XP / Vista.
Connecting earphones or headphones
1Plug the head/earphones into the »U« socket on the digital
picture frame.
Note:
Prolonged listening at loud volumes with headphone or ear-
phones can damage your hearing.

Switching on the digital picture frame
1Press »ON/OFF« on the digital picture frame to switch it on.
Selecting the language of the screen menu
You can choose between various menu languages. The default
setting is »Deutsch«.
1Press »SETUP« to open the »Setup« menu.
2Press »A« or »S« to select the »Language« (menu lan-
guage) menu item.
3Select the language by pressing »a« or »s« repeatedly
and confirm with »OK«.
4Press » « to exit the menu.
Setting the date and time
1Press »SETUP« to open the »Setup« menu.
2Press »S« or »A« to select the »Date/Time« menu item.
3Press »s« to activate the year setting.
4Press »A« or »S« to select the year and confirm with
»s«.
5Press »A« or »S« to select the month and confirm with
»s«.
6Press »A« or »S« to select the day and confirm with
»s«.
7Press »A« or »S« to select the hour and confirm with
»s«.
8Press »A« or »S« to select the minutes and confirm with
»OK«.

Switching on and off
1Press »ON/OFF« on the digital picture frame to switch it on.
– Display: »Loading ...«; then the main menu appears.
2Press »8« on the remote control to switch the digital picture frame
to standby.
3Press »8« on the remote control to switch on the digital picture
frame from standby.
4Press »ON/OFF« on the digital picture frame to switch it off.
Adjusting the volume
1Press »VOL +« or »VOL –« to adjust the volume on the remote
control during playback.
Options in the main menu
1Press »MENU« to open the main menu.
– Three options appear:
– »Nand«: access to the operating modes and files stored in the
digital picture frame.
– »Setup«: system and playback settings.
– »Calendar«: annual calendar. The correct settings for the date
and time must be made before these can function.
2Select the option by pressing »a« or »s« and activate with
»OK«.
Note:
If an external data medium is connected or being used, another
option appears in the main menu for the external memory:
»SD/MMC« (memory card) or »USB« (removable storage
medium).

Selecting the operating modes
1Press »MENU« to open the main menu.
2Select the »Nand« option by pressing »a« or »s« and activate
with »OK«.
3Select the operating mode by pressing »a« or »s« and confirm
with »OK«:
– »Photo«: picture playback.
– »Music«: music playback.
– »File«: file browser for the internal memory.
Note:
If an external data medium is connected or being used, the file
browser shows the content of the external memory.
Screen settings
You can set the brightness and colour saturation of the screen as re-
quired.
1Press »SETUP« to open the »Setup« menu.
2Press »S« or »A« to select the »Brightness«.
3Set the value (–3, –2, –1, 0, 1, 2, 3) with »a« or »s« and
confirm with »OK«.
4Press »S« or »A« to select the »Contrast«.
5Set the value (–3, –2, –1, 0, 1, 2, 3) with »a« or »s« and
confirm with »OK«.
6Press »S« or »A« to select the »Saturation«.
7Set the value (–3, –2, –1, 0, 1, 2, 3) with »a« or »s« and
confirm with »OK«.
8Press » « to exit the menu.

The calendar option
If you select »Calendar«, the current month with the current date and
time appear. At the same time, a slide show runs with inset pictures.
The date and the time must be correctly set for the calendar to
function.
1Press »MENU« to open the main menu.
2Select the »Calendar« option by pressing »a« or »s« and acti-
vate with »OK«.
– The calendar information appears.
3Press » « to exit the calendar mode.
Note:
The digital picture frame switches to the calendar mode
automatically if there is no playback function detected for five
minutes.

Basic picture playback functions
Starting picture playback
1Press »MENU« to open the main menu.
2Select the »Nand« option by pressing »a« or »s« and activate
with »OK«.
3Select the »Photo« mode by pressing »a« or »s« and confirm
with »OK«.
– All available picture files are displayed as inset pictures.
4Select the picture with »a« or »s« or »A« or »S« and press
»OK« to open it.
– The inset picture appears as a full picture when paused (freeze
frame).
– Display: »II«.
5Press »A« or »S« and »3« or »4« to open the previous
or next picture.
6Press » « to switch back to the inset picture display.
Note:
If no button is pressed for six seconds while in the main menu,
picture playback (slide show) begins automatically.
Successive picture playback
1Press »OK« in pause playback (freeze frame).
– The pictures are automatically displayed one after the other as
a slide show.
Rotating pictures
You can rotate the pictures by 90°.
1During playback, press »a« or »s« repeatedly to rotate the
pictures by 90°.
Note:
In automatic picture playback, the picture is paused after rotating.
Press »OK« to continue the automatic picture playback.
