Charging and Safety Precautions
To keep the AI Buddy from shutting down due to insufficient power, monitor the power indicator
and charge the device before use.
Safety Precautions
● Using an unlicensed or incompatible battery may cause fire, explosion or other hazards.
● Charging time should not be too long. During the charging process, you should avoid
using the power supply. The charging environment must meet the specifications.
Otherwise, the machine may be overheat. In extreme cases, the machine may be
damaged or the battery may explode.
● Use or store the device within the temperature and humidity range of the specifications.
When the temperature is too high or too low, it may cause malfunction.
● Do not place the device and its battery around hot devices or areas such as sunlight,
heaters, microwave ovens, ovens or water heaters. Overheating of the battery can cause
an explosion.
● When charging the device, the power outlet should be installed near the device and
should be easily accessible.
● Dispose of this device, battery and other accessories in accordance with local
regulations. Do not dispose of them as household waste. Improper disposal of the
battery can cause the battery to explode.
● Using unlicensed third-party software to upgrade the firmware and system of the device
may cause malfunction of the device. We recommend you use an official online upgrade
or consult a professional to get help.
● It is strictly forbidden to dismantle, modify and violently operate the machine.
Maintenance and upgrade must be carried out by professionals.
Application User Guide
First Steps
Step 1. Download the AI Buddy Application to your mobile device. Find the free app at these
locations.

Step 2. After download finishes, open the application on your device.
Step 3. Ensure that the AI Buddy device is fully charged, then turn it on.
Step 4. Use Mode A to connect the application to the AI Buddy device as described in the
following section.
Connecting to the AI Buddy
There are three connection modes (A, B, and C). You must connect via Mode A before you can
connect using Mode B or Mode C. Note that mobile devices may differ slightly in their mode
configuration.
Mode A
Direct Connect Mode
Connects your mobile device to AI Buddy.
Network connection for mobile device is lost.
Mode B
Trunk Connection Mode
Connect to WiFi to retain network when
connected to Al Buddy device.
Mode C
Mobile Hotspot Connection Mode
Connect to your mobile hotspot to retain network
when connected to AI Buddy (use when no WiFi
is available).
Mode A: Direct Connect Mode
Note: This mode will make your internet connection unavailable on your device (phone, tablet,
etc.). The AI Buddy app will work only when the mobile device is successfully connected to the
AI Buddy device.
How to Use
1. With the app open on your mobile device, select Connect to AI Buddy.
2. Select Direct Connect Mode. Note: Your app may automatically open your
devices settings.

3. Choose the AI Buddy WiFi access point and enter the password (default
12345678  ). The SSID and password are on the back of the AI Buddy and on the
package. Or you may manually select to connect to the AI Buddy WiFi access
point directly from your phone Settings.
4. Return to the AI Buddy app on your mobile device.

Note: If connected through DIRECT CONNECT mode, you will only see the green chain.
Mode B: Trunk Connection Mode
Trunk mode connects the AI Buddy to your phone and WiFi. This mode allows you to have WiFi
Internet access while using the AI Buddy.

Note: Trunk mode works only on 2.4GHz networks.
How to Use
1. Connect to AI Buddy via Mode A first then return to Connect to AI Buddy.
2. Select Trunk Connection Mode.
3. Click Next.
4. Select an alternate WiFi access point and enter the WiFi access password.
5. Again, go through Mode A to directly connect to AI Buddy.
Note: Since AI Buddy needs to disconnect for a few seconds when connecting to the specified
alternate WiFi network, the phone may may disconnect from AI Buddy, therefore the fourth step
above is necessary.

Mode C: Mobile Hotspot Connection Mode
Note: If there is no available WiFi, you can use this method to have Internet access
using your mobile device as a hotspot while using AI Buddy.
How to Use
1. Connect to AI Buddy via Mode A first, then choose Mobile Hotspot Connection Mode.
2. Enter the hotspot’s SSID and password to AI Buddy.
3. Manually turn on the hotspot.

Note: If connected through HOTSPOT mode, you will see the green chain and “Internet Explorer” icon.
Wireless USB Flash Drive
The wireless USB flash drive is a mobile hard drive that connects to your mobile device
wirelessly and can be used to store files. You can lock the AI Buddy to ensure that the files are
only accessible by you. If the AI Buddy is locked, only the authorized user will be able to view
and access the stored files.
How to Use
1. Once connected, click "Upload" to select the files you want to upload to your hard Drive.
2. Long press "File List" to create a new folder, or delete the selected file.

3. Long press “File List” to download the selected file. It will be stored at the “AI Buddy”
subdirectory of the phone memory by default.
Note: Currently, only some common format files can be directly opened. Other file
formats may need to be downloaded to the phone memory before they can be opened.
AI Sample Applications
Sample applications include dog breed recognition, flower recognition and others. Use the
recognition methods to identify images from:
● Photos
● Photos in an album
● Real-time video captures

Take a Photo
Take a picture of the object you want to identify and the image will be recognized
immediately.

Select from Album
Select a picture: Select a picture from the album and get the image recognized.
Capture Real-time Video
Capture real-time video and get images identified. The more angles you can capture in the
video, the better the accuracy for object identification.
For example, “Dog Breed Recognition” can recognize most common breeds.
Additional Tips
● For more application description, select the icon in the sample application.
● Select “Change camera” in the real-time video option to toggle between front and rear
Cameras.
● Select [Back] to stop live shooting and return to the image reselection page.

Locking/Unlocking the AI Buddy
1. Select Login from the application menu bar. Register to create an account if you have
not done so. To register, you can use your email address or mobile number (only
available in China).
2. Log in using the account you created.
3. Select Lock AI Buddy from the application menu bar. Lock/Unlock AI Buddy.

Note: Once your account is locked, you must sign in to the authorized account to access all the
AI Buddy functions.
Work Exception Handling
Tip: If you encounter a long response time while using the AI Buddy mobile app, or if the
communication connection or the AI Indicator is not functioning properly, in most cases these
issues can be resolved by restarting the app or restarting the AI Buddy device. Otherwise,
contact your dealer or manufacturer.
