QUICK START GUIDE FOR EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS
• Check all system components;
- Fuel pump/sender module
- Cross-over adaptor
- Wiring loom
- Supply pipe
• It is recommended to carry out installation with less than half a tank of fuel – drain as
required
• Locate vehicle on hoist and raise
• Remove centre brace from vehicle
- 4 x bolts
• Remove intermediate exhaust system
- Disconnect from cats
- Disconnect from rear mufflers
- Disconnect o2 sensors
- Remove exhaust rubbers
• Remove centre heat shield
- 2 x hex screws
• Remove tailshaft
- Mark front and rear flanges
- Remove torx head bolts at front and disconnect
- Remove silver head bolts at rear and disconnect
- Remove centre bearing bolts
• Remove heat shield at front of fuel tank
- 4 x nuts
• Disconnect handbrake cable at junction and move to the side
• Remove rubber coupling between ll tube and tank
• Remove vent pipe from tank
• Remove 2 x vapour lines from canister

• Disconnect wiring connector, purge hose and supply pipe
• Support rear frame under dierential
• Remove front 2 bolts from frame and loosen rear bolts (DO NOT REMOVE BOLTS
COMPLETELY)
• Lower frame enough to allow room for tank to slide out
• Support fuel tank and remove 4 bolts holding the 2 tank straps
• Lower fuel tank ensuring that all lines and wires are clear
• Before removing the pump module, clean all dirt and debris from top of tank to ensure
no foreign matter enters the tank
• Remove supply line and wiring loom – these will not be used again
• Remove original fuel pump/sender module by turning the locking ring anti-clockwise
until it springs up, there will be a crossover pipe connected to the bottom of the module,
lift module up halfway and disconnect pipe and remove module completely – this will
not be used again
• Ensure that the aluminium cross over tube adaptor is tted to the new fuel pump.
Install new fuel pump/sender module. Whilst installing, connect new crossover pipe to
bottom of module onto the adaptor, orient module correctly and lock ring clockwise.
• Connect new supply pipe to fuel pump/sender module
• Connect and route supplied loom – Original factory loom must be reused for MY11 HSV.
• Install tank and reassemble vehicle.
