ASSEMBLY TIPS
1. Find a clean, level surface to begin the assembly of your basketball hoop. Assembly
will require two strong adults.
2. Remove all of the contents from box and verify that you have all of the parts shown
on the Parts Identifier before you begin assembly. Note: Some parts may be pre-
installed or pre-assembled.
3. Some figures or drawings may not look exactly like your product. Please read and
understand the text before beginning each assembly step.
4. When installing parts that have more than one screw or bolt, hand tighten all screws
or bolts in place before finishing tightening with screwdriver or hex wrench.
5. Electric screwdrivers may be helpful during assembly; however, please set a low
torque and use extreme caution because screws may be stripped or overtightened if
the electric screwdriver's torque is set too high.

CAREFULLY.
CHOKE HAZARD - THIS BASKETBALL HOOP CONTAINS SMALL PARTS - NOT
SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN UNDER 3 YEARS OF AGE.
DO NOT HANG ON THE HOOP RIM.
DO NOT USE HOOP WITHOUT BALLAST IN THE BASE.
TWO ADULTS ARE REQUIRED TO SAFELY ADJUST HOOP HEIGHT.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Insert one WHEEL SHAFT #17 through each WHEEL #16. Snap each assembled
WHEEL into place on the bottom of BASE #7. Note: WHEELS may be pre-installed
at the factory.
2. Attach BOTTOM POLE #8 to BASE #7 with WING BOLT #15 through the bottom of
the BASE. Attach PLASTIC RING #9 to the top of the BOTTOM POLE.
3. Attach LEFT POLE BRACE #10A and RIGHT POLE BRACE #10B as shown to the
BOTTOM POLE with 5/8" BOLT #3 and FLAT WASHER #18. Secure each POLE
BRACE to the BASE with 3/4" CARRIAGE BOLT #12, LOCKNUT #14 and FLAT
WASHER #18.
4. Align holes in TOP POLE #20 and MIDDLE POLE #21 as shown, slide together and
secure with 2-1/2" CARRIAGE BOLT #19, LOCKNUT #14 and FLAT WASHER #18.
Note: tapered end of MIDDLE POLE fits into bottom of TOP POLE.
5. To assemble RIM, slide each 1" CARRIAGE BOLT #22 through RIM #5, BACK-
BOARD #4 and BACKBOARD BRACKET #13 as shown. Secure with LOCKNUT #14
and FLAT WASHER #18.
6. Attach assembled RIM to TOP POLE with 2-1/2" CARRIAGE BOLT #19, LOCKNUT
#14 and FLAT WASHER #18. Attach POLE CAP #1 to the TOP POLE.
7. Slide MIDDLE POLE into BOTTOM POLE, set to desired height and secure with
2-1/2" CARRIAGE BOLTS #19 and TRIANGULAR TWIST NUTS #11.
8. Attach NET #6 by hooking each net loop over the corresponding metal loop around
the RIM.
9. Move hoop into desired position. Use garden hose to fill BASE with water. Install
BASE PLUG #2. Note: Use funnel if filling BASE with sand.

You have now assembled your Harvil Basketball Hoop.
Please note the Care and Use instructions below to
ensure years of trouble free use of your hoop.
CARE AND USE
1. Do NOT hang on the hoop rim.
2. Make sure the surface beneath the base is free of stones, gravel or sharp objects
that could puncture the base. Periodically check the base for leaks.
3. In colder climates, water in the base may freeze, causing damage to the base.
Non-toxic swimming pool antifreeze, available at pool supply stores, may be added to
prevent freezing. For longer life, drain water from the base during winter months.
