and/or hot water for washing and cleaning purposes only.
• Water in the device can become very hot. Always check the water temperature and confirm it is
safe before use.
• Never operate this in an enclosed area. Without ventilation, there is a strong carbon monoxide risk.
• Do not place or store any clothing or miscellaneous items on top of or against this device.
• Do not place or store the device near anything flammable such as chemicals or aerosol sprays.
• Do not operate this device if any panels, covers, or safeguards are missing or are not operating
correctly.
• Do not operate this device in a trailer, tent, or boat.
• This device is only designed to be used with water starting at a temperature of 68 °F (20 °C) or
below.
• This device can raise water a maximum of 86 °F (30 °C) above its starting temperature (e.g.,
water starting at 35 °F (2 °C) can only be raised to a maximum of 121 °F (49 °C)). If this does not
raise the temperature to your desired level, water can be returned into the heater a second time
to raise the temperature.
• For safety reasons, this device will automatically shut off the internal burner once the water
temperature from the water outlet reaches 125 °F (52 °C).
• Only use this device with the supplied regulator and non-refillable 16.5 oz (468 g) disposable

types.
• Children should always be supervised by an adult when around this device.
• Do not leave the device unattended while it is in operation.
SAFE USE REQUIREMENTS
CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD: Using this device in an enclosed space can cause death. Under no
circumstances should you use this appliance in trailers, tents, boats, mobile homes, or any other similarly
enclosed space.
• Always use this device on a solid, stable, level surface made from non-combustible or non-flammable
materials. Always protect the device from direct drafts and store it in a well-ventilated area.
• Keep this device away from children at all times.
• External parts can get extremely hot due to the internal burner of this device. Always use care
when handling or moving this device.
• If you smell gas at any point, power off the device immediately and move the device and propane
tank to a well-ventilated outdoor area away from any sources of heat.
• Never attempt to pick up or move the appliance while it is in operation. Always extinguish the
burner, allow the device to cool, and disengage the propane tank before moving the device.
• Always use the approved gas regulator that came with the device. Do not use a different gas
regulator or any kind of adapter.
• Always check this device thoroughly for any signs of gas leaks before using it.
Checking for gas leaks
• Ensure that all connections are secure and that the propane tank connection is fully tightened
before turning on the device.
• Never check for gas leaks with an open flame or pilot light.
• To check for gas leaks, coat all connections that should be sealed with soapy water. If bubbles
appear, you will need to tighten the connection before testing again.
• Inspect your water heater regularly for signs of wear, leaks, or any evidence of incorrect operation.
If you notice issues such as burner flaring, lighting issues, damage to connections, or leaks from
the seals or gas controls, contact Hike Crew right away for help. Do not, under any circumstances,
attempt to repair these issues on your own.
• To check if there is propane remaining in your propane tank, fully remove and disconnect it from
the rear of the device. Hold it fully upright and vertical, then shake it from side to side. If you hear
a sound or feel liquid moving around inside, there is still propane in the tank.
• Always change propane tanks outside in a well-ventilated area free from people, animals, and
ignition sources (flames, pilot lights, electrical equipment with heaters or heating elements, etc.).

Safe Use Locations
This device should only be operated in an above-ground, open-air situation where there is natural
ventilation, no stagnant areas, and where gas leakage and/or products of combustion will be promptly
diffused by wind.
Any enclosure in which you are using this device should comply with one of the following types of safe use
locations. Do not use this device in any area that does not comply with any of the following safe use locations.
• An enclosure with walls on all sides, but no roof/overhead covering.
• A partial enclosure that includes a roof/overhead covering but has no more than two (2) walls.
• A partial enclosure with a roof/overhead covering, more than two (2) walls, but meets one of the
following conditions:
• At least 25% of the total wall area is completely open and ventilated.
• At least 30% or more of the remaining wall side, back, and front areas are completely open and
unrestricted.
• If using on a balcony or patio, at least 20% or more of the total wall area must remain open and
restricted.
During operation, always make sure that all air inlets and exhaust vents are kept unobstructed and fully open.
Safety Features
High Temperature Sensor: The device will automatically disable the burner once the water temperature from
the dispenser reaches 125 °F (52 °C). It will automatically relight the burner once the water temperature
from the dispenser falls below 113 °F (45 °C).
Water Flow Sensor: Water must be flowing through the system in order for the burner to ignite. If the water
supply becomes restricted or ceases entirely (i.e. the Flow Switch is in the “off” position), the burner will
automatically be extinguished and will not relight until the water flow resumes.
Tilt Switch: If this device is moved during operation or is being operated on an unstable surface, the
appliance will shut down and must be switched off until placed in a suitable location.
Fuse Protection: Fuses are located in the cigarette lighter and pump power inlet. In the event of an issue
with the electrical supply, the fuse will blow and protect the electronic system of this device.

1. Remove all components from the storage bag and place the appliance
on a solid, non-combustible surface. Straighten out all hoses and remove
any kinks or twists.
2. Screw the gas regulator (attachment #1) in a clockwise direction onto
the gas inlet (connection point #1) on the back of the device and
secure tightly.
Note: Check that the black rubber seal has been fitted onto the gas inlet
pipe before connecting the gas regulator (attachment #1).
3. Screw the propane tank onto the gas regulator (attachment #1) and
tighten securely. Check for leaks with soapy water (not a flame). If a
leak is detected, remove the propane tank, retighten all connections,
and test again.
4. With the power switch set to the “off” position, plug the pump power connecter
(attachment #2.5) into pump DC power input (connection point #5).
5. Connect the pump hose (attachment #2) to the water inlet
(connection point #2).

8
