Connect Peripheral Equipment
There is a wide range of audio and video equipment that can be connected to our TV.
The following connection diagrams show ou where the different equipment should be connected at the back or the
front side of the TV.

Via the SCART connector
Your TV set has two SCART connector sockets. If ou
want to connect peripherals (e.g. video, decoder, etc.)
which have SCART connectors, to our TV, use EXT1
and EXT2 inputs.
Via Ant Input
If ou want to connect to our TV, peripherals like video-
recorders or decoders, but the device ou want to
connect does not have SCART connector ou should
connect it to the ANT input of our TV set.
Decoder
Cable TV offers ou a wide choice of programs. Most of
them are free, others are to be paid for b the viewer.
This means that ou will need to subscribe to the
broadcasting organisation whose programmes ou
wish to receive. This organisation will suppl ou with a
corresponding decoder unit to allow the programmes to
be unscrambled.
For further information ask our dealer. See also the
booklet supplied with our decoder.
Connectin a decoder with an aerial socket to
the TV
 Connect the aerial cable.
Connectin a decoder without an aerial socket
to the TV
 Connect the decoder to our TV with a SCART lead
to EXTERNAL1 or EXTERNAL 2. When our de-
coder has a SCART connector ou can obtain better
picture qualit if ou connect a SCART lead to EX-
TERNAL.
 Then select the appropriate AV mode b pressing the
AV button.
TV and Video Recorder
 Connect the aerial cables.
Better picture qualit can be obtained if ou also connect
a SCART lead to EXTERNAL 2.
Playback NTSC
Connect NTSC VCR pla er to Euroconnector at the
back of the TV or RCA JACK at the front of the TV.
Then, press AV button to select AV-1, AV-2 or AV3.
NTSC 4.43 s stem can be watched at this mode
automaticall .
Copy Facility
Source selection for VCR recording.
Select TV Setup Menu in the Installation Menu.
 Select AV-2 OUTPUT source pressing   or  
button.
Search for and store the test signal of the
ideo recorder
 Unplug the aerial cable from the aerial socket ANT
of our video recorder.
 Switch on our TV and put the video recorder on the
test signal. (See the handbook for our video re-
corder.)
 Enter the Tuning menu via the Installation menu.
 Search for the test signal of our video recorder in
the same wa as ou searched for and stored the TV
signals. See Tuning, Search and Store TV channels.
Store the test signal either under programme number
0 or between 55 and 99.
 Replace the aerial cable in the aerial socket ANT of
our video recorder once ou have stored the test sig-
nal.
Camera and Camcorder
To connect to Front-AV input
Connect our camcorder to the front of our TV.
 Connect our equipment to the TV via VIDEO ( el-
low), AUDIO R (red) and AUDIO L (white) inputs .
You should connect the jacks to the input of the same
colour.
Connect the decoder to the ideo recorder
Some video recorders have a special SCART
connector for decoder.
 Connect a SCART lead to the SCART connector of
our decoder and to the special SCART connector of
our video recorder. See also the handbook of our
video recorder.
 To connect our video recorder to the TV, see TV and
Video Recorder section.
If ou want to connect more equipment to our TV,
consult our dealer.
Connecting Headphones
Use the stereo headphone socket (HP) to connect
headphones. This socket is located on the front / right
hand side of the television.

Place TV on a solid surface.
For ventilation, leave a space of at least 10 cm free all around the set. To prevent an fault and unsafe situations,
please do not place an objects on top of the set.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION ON OPERATING YOUR TV

DOs
This Television has been designed and manufactured to meet international safet standards, but like an electrical
equipment, care must be taken if ou are to obtain the best results and safet is to be assured.
DO read the operating instructions before ou attempt to use the equipment.
DO consult our dealer if ou are in an doubt about installation, operation or safet of our equipment.
DO be careful with glass panels or doors on equipment.
This TV is supplied with a fitted mains plug. This plug must not be cut off as it ma contain a special radio interference
filter, the removal of which could lead to impaired performance. If ou wish to extend the lead, obtain an appropriate
safet approved extension lead or consult our dealer.
Observe the manufacturers instructions when connecting extension leads to the TV. Check the fuse rating on the
new plug, this should be fitted with a 5 Amp fuse which conforms to either ASTA or BSI (BS1 362) approvals, these
are easil identifiable b either the or s mbols. If ou are in an doubt about the installation of an extension
lead, please consult a competent electrician.

DONTs
DONT continue to operate the equipment if ou are in an doubt about it working normall , or if it is damaged in an
wa switch off, withdraw the mains plug and consult our dealer.
DONT place water filled vessels on top of T.V. cabinets.
DONT remove an fixed cover as this ma expose dangerous voltages.
DONT leave equipment switched on when it is unattended unless it is specificall stated that it is designed for
unattended operation or has a stand-b mode. Switch off using the switch on the equipment and make sure our
famil know how to do this. Special arrangements ma need to be made for infirm or handicapped people.
DONT use equipment such as personal stereos or radios so that ou are distracted from the requirements of traffic
safet . It is illegal to watch television whilst driving.
DONT obstruct the ventilation of the equipment, for example with curtains or soft furnishings. Overheating will cause
damage and shorten the life of the equipment.
DONT use makeshift stands and NEVER fix legs or stands to the TV with an screws other than those provided
- to ensure complete safet alwa s use the manufacturers approved stand with the fixings provided.
DONT allow electrical equipment to be exposed to rain or moisture.

 NEVER let anyone, especially children push anything into holes, slots or any other opening in the case
- this could result in a fatal electric shock.

1. Power Source
The receiver should be operated onl from a 220-240V AC, 50 Hz. outlet. Ensure ou select the correct voltage setting.
2. Power Cord
The power suppl cord should be placed so that the are not likel to be walked on or pinched b items placed upon
them or against them. Pa particular attention to cord where the enter the plug, power outlet, and the point where
the exit from the receiver.
3. Moisture and Water
Do not use this equipment in a humid and damp place (avoid the bathroom, the sink in the kitchen, and near the
washing machine). Do not expose this equipment to rain or water, as this ma be dangerous.
4. Cleaning
Before cleaning, unplug the receiver from the main suppl , outlet. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners. Use with
soft and dr cloth.
5. Ventilation
The slots and openings on the receiver are intended for ventilation and to ensure reliable operation. To prevent
overheating, these openings must not be blocked or covered in an wa .

6. Lightning
In case of storm and lightning or when going on holida , disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet and also
remove aerial socket.
7. Replacement Part
When replacement parts are required, be sure the service technician has used replacement parts which are specified
b the manufacturer or have the same specifications as the original one. Unauthorized substitutions ma result in
fire, electrical shock, or other hazards.
8. Ser icing
Please refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Do not remove cover as this ma result in electric shock.
9. X-rays
The x-ra s generated in this television are shielded sufficientl . Beam potential is max. 30kV.
Warning!
Any intervention contrary to regulations, in particular, any modification of high voltage or a replacement of the picture
tu e may lead to an increased concentration of x-rays. Any television modified in this way no longer complies with
license and must not e operated.
Instructions for waste disposal:
Packaging and packaging aids are recycla le and should principally e recycled. Packaging materials, such as foil
ag, must e kept away from children.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR TV IN STAND-BY OR OPERATING WHEN LEFT UNATTENDED FOR A LONG TIME
SET TOP BOX OPERATION
If ou are watching a Digital TV broadcast and ou wish to change to
a normal TV broadcast, press the TV button* on our Set Top Box
handset to revert to normal TV operation. If ou do not, ou ma
experience a rolling of the picture on our TV. (An example is shown
in the illustration opposite)
* PLEASE NOTE : The TV button on our Set Top Box handset will
be labelled TV, TV/SAT or TV/DTV, whichever
is appropriate to our t pe of Set Top Box.

Before Switching on your TV
Power connection
IMPORTANT: The TV set is designed to operate on
220-240V AC, 50 Hz.
 After unpacking, allow the TV set to reach the ambient
room temperature before ou connect the set to the
mains.
Aerial Connections
 Connect the aerial plug to the aerial input socket lo-
cated at the back of the TV.
How to connect other de ices
IMPORTANT: Switch off the TV before connecting an
external device.
Sockets for external connections are on the back of the
TV.
For connection of other devices via SCART connector
(or RCA Jack) refer to the manuals of the related
devices.
Inserting batteries in the remote control
handset
 Remove the batter cover located on the back of the
handset b gentl pulling upwards from the indicated
part.
 Insert two MN2400 AAA or equivalent t pe batteries
inside.
 Replace the batter cover.
NOTE: Remove batteries from remote control handset
when it is not to be used for a long period.Otherwise it
can be damaged due to an leakage of batteries.
Switching the TV ON/O
You can operate your TV either using the remote
control handset or directly using the TV onset
buttons.
To switch the TV on
Your TV will switch on in two steps:
1- Press the power button located on the front of the TV.
Then the TV switches itself to standb mode and the
RED LED located below the TV turns on.
2- To switch on the TV from stand-b mode either:
Press a digit button on the remote control so that a
programme number is selected,
or,
Press Programme Up and Down buttons on the front of
the TV or on the remote control respectivel , so the TV
will switch on and the RED Led will turn GREEN.
To switch the TV off
 Press the stand-b button on the remote control, so
the TV will switch to stand-b mode and the GREEN
LED will become RED, or,
 Press the power button located on the front of the
TV.
Operating the TV
You can operate your TV both usin the remote
control handset and onset buttons.
APS (Automatic Programming System)
When ou turn on our TV for the first time, Auto Setup
menu will be displa ed. Auto programming s stem
automaticall programmes our TV according to the
transmission of programme s stems in our area. In
this menu if the language setting is incorrect, use  
or   buttons to highlight Lan ua e and select the
available one using the   or   buttons. Then use
the   or   buttons to highlight Country. If
countr setting is in correct, use   or   buttons to
highlight Country, and select using the   or  
buttons. Finall use   or   buttons to highlight
 Start and use   or   buttons to begin Auto-
Programming.
After APS is finalised, a rank list will appear on the
screen. In the rank list ou will see the programme
numbers and names assigned to the programmes. At
the first programme with programme number 1 will be
displa ed and the programme number 1 will be
selected. Using   or   or   or   ke ou
can move the flashing number and then displa the

programme corresponding to the flashing number
pressing RED button.
If ou do not accept the correspondence between
programme numbers and names and want to change
them, press  MENU button and then BLUE button,
so that ou enter the Installation menu. In the Installation
menu select TUNING menu and enter it. To use tuning
menu, refer to the Tuning submenu in the Installation
Menu section of this manual.
Operating with the onset buttons
Volume setting and programme selection can be made
using the buttons on the front panel.
Volume Settin
 Press   button to decrease volume or
 button to increase volume, so a volume level
scale will be displa ed on the screen.
Pro ramme Selectin
 Press Programme Up button to select next
programme or Programme Down button to select
the previous programme.
Operating with Remote Control
The remote control handset of our TV is designed to
control all the functions of the model ou selected. The
functions will be described in accordance with the
menu s stem of our TV.
Funtions which ou can use out of menu s stem are
described below.
Volume Settin
Press button to increase volume.
Press   button to decrease volume.
Pro ramme Selectin
(Previous or next pro ramme)
 Press   button to select the next programme.
 Press   button to select the previous programme.
Pro ramme Selectin (direct access):
Press digit buttons on the remote control handset to
select programmes between 0 and 9.
Press - - button to select programmes between 10 and
99. - - will be displa ed on the screen. Then press the
programme number. (e.g. for programme 27, press 2
and 7)
Press directl the programme number to reselect single
digit programmes.

Menu System
Your TV has been designed with a menu s stem, to
provide an eas manipulation of a multifunction s stem.
The TV is controlled b choosing the commands
displa ed on the screen.
Below is described the use of the menu s stem.
 Press Menu  MENU button. Main menu will be
displa ed on the screen.
On the remote control each option is identified with a
different colour. To select an option, press the button
with the corresponding colour, on the remote control
handset. For example for sound settings, press RED
button, for picture settings, press GREEN button etc.
Information Menu
When ou press the information button   in an
menu an explanation is given of how to:
 Select and go to a submenu
 Select and change items
 go to the previous menu
 exit that menu
is given.
If the   button is pressed when none of the menus
activated, the TV status including Program number,
name and Sound Mode will be displa ed.
In all the menus, pressing   or   button one of the
items can be selected, pressing   or  button
item can be changed or ou can go to submenu,
pressing the  MENU button ou can go to the
previous menu and b pressing the TV button ou will
exit the menu.
Sound Menu
To chan e sound settin s
 Enter the Sound Menu directl , pressing the Red but-
ton   or,
 Press  MENU button, now ou are in main
menu. In the main menu, select SOUND using  
or   button, then enter the sound menu pressing
 or   button.
Settin Volume:
As ou enter the sound menu, Volume will be the first
selected option.
 Press   button to increase volume.
 Press   button to decrease volume.
Or ou can directl change the volume settings using
 (to increase) or   (to decrease) button.
Settin Bass Level:
 Using   or   button select Bass.
 Press   button to increase bass level.
 Press   button to decrease bass level.

Settin Treble Level:
 Using   or   button select Treble.
 Press   button to increase treble level.
 Press   button to decrease treble level.
Settin Balance:
 Using   or   button select Balance.
 Press   button to change balance rightwards.
 Press   button to change balance leftwards.
Settin Sound Effect:
You can use this feature to switch on and off sound
effect. Pressing   or   button will turn on and off
this feature. If the current sound s stem is MONO and
the sound effect is set ON, then the sound will be heard
as if it is STEREO. If the current sound s stem is
STEREO, switching this effect on will make the sound
deeper. Switching it off will make no change in MONO
and STEREO.
To Store the Settin s:
 Using   or   button select Store. Press  
or   button to store current sound settings. The
stored values will be valid for all the programmes.
To Chan e Headphone Sound Settin s:
When ou connect headphones, ou can change the
headphone sound settings entering the headphone
menu. To do this, select headphone using   or  
button then enter headphone menu pressing   or
 button.
Setting Headphone Volume:
 As ou enter the Headphone sound menu, Volume
will be the first selected option.
 Press   button to increase volume.
 Press   button to decrease volume.
Setting Headphone Sound Mode:
 Using   or   button select Mode.
Pressing   or   button will change the current
sound mode. (e.g.: If the current sound mode is stereo,
it will be stereo or visa versa).
In case of bilingual broadcast, ou can select original or
dubbed language again using mode menu. So when
somebod listens to the original language from the
loudspeakers, somebod else can listen to the dubbed
language from headphone.
To Store the Settings:
 Using   or   button select Store. Press  
or   button to store current headphone volume
and balance. The stored values will be valid for all the
programmes.

Picture Menu
To chan e picture settin s:
 Enter the Picture Menu directl , pressing the GREEN
button   or,
 Press  MENU button, now ou are in main menu.
In the main menu, select PICTURE using   or
 button, then enter the picture menu pressing
 or   button.
Settin Bri htness:
 As ou enter the picture menu, Brightness will be the
first selected option.
 Press   button to increase brightness.
 Press   button to decrease brightness.
Settin Colour:
 Using   or   button select Colour.
 Press   button to increase colour level.
 Press   button to decrease colour level.
Settin Contrast:
 Using   or   button select Contrast.
 Press   button to increase contrast level.
 Press   button to decrease contrast level.
Settin Sharpness:
 Using   or   button select Sharpness.
 Press   button to increase sharpness level.
 Press   button to decrease sharpness level.
Settin Hue:
(If our TV set has a Pla back NTSC s stem, this will
appear) (In AV mode onl ) :
 Using   or   button select Hue.
 Press   button to increase hue level.
 Press   button to decrease hue level.

Picture Mode Menu:
This menu is used to change the picture size according
to the coming transmission.
 If auto function is selected, then the picture size will
be automaticall changed according to the transmis-
sion.
 Selecting 4 : 3 mode forces picture ratio size to 4 : 3.
 Selecting 16 : 9 mode forces picture ratio size to
16 : 9.
To Store the Settin s:
 Using   or   button select Store. Press  
or   button to store current picture settings. The
stored values will be valid for all the programmes. Pic-
ture Mode setting is stored for each program
indivuduall .
Feature Menu
 Enter the Feature Menu directl , pressing the YEL-
LOW button F or,
 Press  MENU button, now ou are in main menu.
In the main menu, select FEATURE, using   or
 button. Then enter the feature menu pressing
 or   button.
Sleep Timer:
 As ou enter the feature menu, Sleep Timer will be
the first selected option.
 Use   or   button to change the value of the
sleep timer between Off, 0:15, 0:30, 0:45, 1:00, 1:15,
1:30, 1:45, 2:00 hours. Your TV will get into standb
mode when the period ou selected passes after ou
make the selection.
Child Lock:
You can use this feature to prevent displa of an
programme ou do not want to be watched.
 The Child Lock feature ma be set to either On or Off.
When Off is selected, there will be no difference in
the operation of our TV. When On is selected, the TV
can onl be controlled b the remote control handset.
In this case, the front panel buttons (except the
Switch On/Off button) will not work.
Installation Menu
This menu consists of Tuning, Program. (Programming)
and TV Configuration submenus.
Tunin Menu
 Press  MENU button so that ou enter the main
menu. In the main menu select Installation using
 or   button and open the installation menu
pressing   or   button. (To open the Installa-
tion Menu directl , do not enter the main menu, but
onl press the BLUE button). In the installation menu
select TUNING. Pressing   or   button, en-
ter the TUNING menu.

Automatic Search
 Pro ramme will be the first selected item as ou
enter the TUNING menu. Pressing   or  
button select the programme where ou want the
tuned station to be stored. (You ma also t pe the
programme number using the digit buttons.)
 Press   or   button to select Band. Using
 or   button, select the band in which
search is to be made.
 With the   or   button, select Search. Search
can be made either forward, pressing   button or
backwards, pressing   button.
 If the tuned station is not the desired one, ou can
continue searching pressing   or   button
again.
 When the desired station is tuned, select STORE
using   or   button and store it to the
programme number ou selected pressing   or
 button.
 To stop searching before a channel is found, press
the reverse direction button (for example when
searching is made in forward direction, press back-
wards direction button to stop searching).
To name a Programme
First select the programme number ou want to name.
Then select name option using   or   button. After
that press   or   button to select the position of
the letter to be changed and press   or   button
to change that letter. After that select and change the
other letters as well in order to name the programme
correctl . Finall to store the name, select store option
using   or   button and store it pressing   or
 button.
To change Standard
(You can change this menu only etween standards
which your TV set supports.)
Pressing   or   button selects the Broadcast
Standard required. Then select the standard ou want
pressing   or   button. When changing the
standard this wa , if the previous channel is not defined
for the new selected standard, then also the channel will
be changed to the first defined channel of that standard
(For example: When changing BG to K1 and the
previous channel is C12, after changing the standard,
the channel will be C4, because the first defined channel
of standard K1 is C4). After that, if it is returned to the
previous standard back, the channel will not be changed
to the previous one an more (That means, in the
example above, when it is returned from K1 to BG
again, the channel will not change to C12 an more and
keep C4). Defined channels for different standards are
given as following:
B/G : C01-C69, S01-S41
D/K : C01-C12, C21-C69, S01-S19, S22-S41
I* : C21-C69
I** : C01-C17, C21-C69, S01-S19, S22-S41
L/L : C01-C11, C21-C69, S01-S41
K1 : C04-C09
* U.K. I (UHF)
** IRELAND I (VHF, UHF)
Direct Channel Access
 If ou know the broadcast band and channel number
of the station ou want to tune, ou do not need to
make search; select Band, using   or   button
in the TUNING menu. Select the band of the station,
pressing   or   button. Then select Channel
pressing   or   button. Press   or  
button to find the channel number or directl t pe it us-
ing the digit buttons. As ou change the channel num-
bers the corresponding stations will be displa ed.
To store the station to the programme number selected,
select STORE option using   or   button and
then press   or   button to store it.
Fine Tuning
Picture or sound qualit can be poor in areas where the
receptions is weak. In such cases, picture and sound
qualit can be improved b fine tuning. To make fine
tuning:
 In the tuning menu, press   or   button to se-
lect the Fine Tunin item. Pressing the   button
continuousl will cause the fine tuning be made for-
ward while pressing the   button continuousl will
cause the fine-tuning to be made backwards. When
ou are satisfied with the reception of transmission,
store it. To store the fine tuning setting select the
STORE option using either the   or   button
and store it to the selected programme number b
pressing either of the   or   buttons.
Pro ram (Pro rammin ) Menu
Pro ram. (Pro rammin ) menu is used to displa the
programme names and numbers. You can use this
menu to delete a channel, to insert a channel and to
autostore the programmes.You can access this menu
directl via   INFO button in no menu condition.
Select the PROGRAM Menu pressing the   or  
button and open it b pressing   or   buttons.
When ou enter the programme menu, all the
programme numbers and names will be displa ed on
the screen. The programme name and number of the
tuned channel will be displa ed in red. All the other
channel numbers will be black and at first the
programme number 1 will be flashing. You can move the
flashing number using the   or   buttons. As ou
pass through the programme numbers this wa , to
reach the programme number ou want, the channels

corresponding to the programme numbers ou pass
through will not be tuned.
Pressing the RED button will tune the channel on the
flashing programme number. Now the colour of the
flashing programme number will be red. Again ou can
use the   or   or   or   buttons.
To delete a channel from a programme number:
 Move the flashing onto the channel ou want to de-
lete.
 Press the YELLOW button. Now the corresponding
channel will be deleted and all the other channels be-
low this programme number will be moved one
programme number up.
To insert a channel into a programme number:
 Move the flashing onto the selected channel.
 Press the RED button, so that channel will be dis-
pla ed on the screen.
 Move the flashing onto the selected programme num-
ber. Now pressing the GREEN button will insert the
channel on screen displa ed into that programme
number. If a channel is moved to a lower programme
number, channels between the previous and current
position of the selected channel will be moved one
programme number up and if a channel is moved to a
upper programme number, channels between the
previous and current position of the selected channel
will be moved one programme number down.
APS (Automatic Programming System):
The APS menu will appear when ou first switch on our
TV for the first time. APS automaticall programmes
our TV, according to the transmission of programme
s stems in our area.
If ou want to run APS at an other time:
 Press BLUE button. Now ou are in the Auto Tune
menu.
 Select Pro ram menu using   or   button.
 Press either the   or   button to enter the
Pro ram menu.
 In the program menu enter the Auto Tune menu b
pressing the BLUE button. Now a warning message
is displa ed. If ou do not want the channels to be
stored automaticall , cancel b pressing the TV but-
ton. If ou want to continue, start APS b pressing the
 button.
After APS is finalised, a rank list will appear on the
screen. . In the rank list ou will see the programme
numbers and names, assigned to the programmes.
First the programme with programme number 1 will be
displa ed and it will be flashing. Using the   or  
or   or   buttons ou can move the flashing
number and then displa the programme corresponding
to that flashing number b pressing the RED button.
If ou do not accept the line up between the programme
numbers and names and want to change them, press
the  MENU button and then the BLUE button, so
entering the Installation menu. In the Installation menu
select the TUNING menu and enter it. To use the
TUNING menu, refer to the Tuning submenu in the
Installation Menu section of this manual.
TV Setup Menu
This menu is used to select the Menu Language, the
Countr name and to select source of AV-2 Out
(Scart2).
Selecting Menu Language
To select menu language:
 Press  MENU button so that ou enter the main
menu.
 In the main menu select Installation using   or
 button.
 Open the installation menu pressing the   or
 button . (To open the Installation Menu di-
rectl , do not enter the main menu but onl press the
BLUE button).

 In the installation menu select TV Setup using  
or   button.
 Open the TV Setup menu using   or   but-
ton.
 In the TV Setup menu select Lan ua e and ou
can change the language to the one ou require, us-
ing the   or   buttons. As soon as ou
change the language, the menu items will be dis-
pla ed in the selected language.
Selecting Country
 Press  MENU button so that ou enter the main
menu.
 In the main menu select Installation using   or
 button.
 Open the installation menu pressing the   or
 button. (To open the Installation Menu di-
rectl , do not enter the main menu but onl press the
BLUE button).
 In the installation menu select TV Setup using  
or   button.
 Open the TV Setup menu using   or   but-
ton.
 In the TV Setup menu select Country using   or
 button. Change the countr pressing   or
 button.
Setting External Source Output
 You can use this menu to select the internal or exter-
nal source that will be output at euroscart2.
To set AV-2 Output:
 Press  MENU button so that ou enter the main
menu.
 In the main menu select Installation using  or
 button.
 Open the installation menu pressing   or  
button. (To open the Installation Menu directl , do
not enter the main menu but onl press the BLUE but-
ton).
 In the installation menu select TV Setup using  
or   button.
 Open the TV Setup menu using   or   but-
ton.
 In the TV Setup menu select AV-2 Output using  
or   button. Then select the source ou want to
be output at scart2 pressing   or   button
(one of the sources: TV, AV-1 (Scart1) or AV-3 (Front
AV).
Other eatures
Sound Mute
To cut off the sound of the TV press   button. The
sound will be muted. To cancel mute, press   or
 or   buttons. The volume level will return to
the level it was before the sound was muted.
Bilingual Broadcast
 If the TV channel ou are watching broadcasts in two
languages (e.g. Eurosport), ou can select the
dubbed or the original language, pressing the I-II but-
ton.
Information on Screen
After the selection of a TV programme from peripheral,
equipment, e.g. VCR, DVD pla er, satellite receiver or
decoder, the following information will appear on our
screen:
 The programme number and name of the selected
TV channel.
 The currentl selected mode (not with a programme
coming from a peripheral or through a decoder).
 Dual I or Dual II in case of bilingual broadcast if our
TV has stereo sound s stem.
Also   sound muted sign will be displa ed when the
sound is temporaril interrupted.

Teletext
Teletext is an information s stem that displa s text on
our TV screen. Using the Teletext information s stem
ou can view a page of information on a subject that is
available in the list of contents (index).
No on screen displa will be available in text mode.
No contrast, brightness or colour control, but volume
control is available in text mode.
To operate Teletext
 Select a TV station on which Teletext is being trans-
mitted.
 Press (TELETEXT)   button. Usuall the list of
contents (index) is displa ed on the screen.
To select a page of Teletext
 Press the appropriate digit buttons for the required
Teletext page number.
The selected page number is displa ed at the top left
corner of the screen. The Teletext page counter
searches until the selected page number is located, so
that the desired page is displa ed on the screen.
 Press   button to move the Teletext screen for-
ward one page at a time.
 Press   button to move the Teletext screen back-
ward one page at a time.
To Select Index Page
 To select the page number of the index (generall
page 100), press   button.
To Re eal concealed Information
 Pressing   button once will reveal answers on a
quiz or games page.
 Pressing   button again will conceal the re-
vealed answers.
To Stop Automatic Page Change
The teletext page ou have selected ma contain more
information than what is on the screen; the rest of the
information will be displa ed after a period of time.
 Press   button to stop the automatic page
change.
 Press   button again to allow the next page to be
displa ed.
To Select a Subpage Page
Subpage pages are subsections of long Teletext pages
that can onl be displa ed on the screen one section at
a time.
 Select the required Teletext page.
 Press   button.
 Select the required Subpage page number b press-
ing four digit buttons (e.g. 0001).
 Teletext page number will be displa ed on the upper
left corner of the screen when the selected page is
found.
8 Page Fastext and Toptext
Teletext mode will be selected according to transmission
automaticall .
Your CTV supports the 8 page Teletext s stem. When
the page number of an of the 8 pages in memor is
entered, the s stem will not search for the requested
page; instead it will displa the page automaticall .
 Press   button to move the Teletext screen for-
ward one page at a time.
 Press   button to move the Teletext screen back-
ward one page at a time.
For Fastext and Toptext
The subject-heading for the information ma have a
particular colour or can be in a form located in a
coloured box.
 Press an appropriate RED, GREEN, YELLOW or
BLUE button in order to reach the relevant page
quickl .
For TOPTEXT
If a Toptext transmission is present, colour coded
buttons will appear in a status row.
If Toptext transmission is not present, status row will not
appear.
In Toptext mode the   or   commands will
request the next or previous page. If Toptext
transmission is not available, in case of operation of
these commands, wraparound occurs. For example
page 100 appears to be one greater than page 199.

To exit Teletext
 Press TV button. The screen will switch to TV
mode.
To Display the Time
 While watching a TV programme with Teletext trans-
mission press   button. The current time infor-
mation, captured from Teletext will be displa ed at the
upper right corner of the screen.
 If the programme being watched does not have Tele-
text transmission, onl a blue box will be displa ed at
the same location.
 The time information will disappear after pressing 
 button again.
When time information is displa ed on screen, entering
another menu will remove it, but after leaving that menu
time information will appear again.
Tips
Care of the Screen
Clean the screen with a slightl damp, soft cloth. Do not
use abrasive solvents as the ma damage the TV
screen coating la er.
Poor Picture
Have ou selected the correct TV s stem? Is our TV
set or house aerial located too close to the
loudspeakers, non-earthed audio equipment or neon
lights, etc. ?
Mountains or high buildings can cause double pictures
or ghost images. Sometimes ou can improve the
picture qualit b changing the direction of the aerial.
The picture qualit ma degrade when two peripherals
are connected to the TV at the same time. In such a
case, disconnect one of the peripherals.
No Picture:
Is the aerial connected properl ? Are the plugs
connected tightl to the aerial socket? Is the aerial cable
damaged? Are suitable plugs used to connect the
aerial? If ou are in doubt, consult our dealer.
No Picture means that our TV is not receiving an
transmission. Have ou pressed the correct ke s on the
remote control? Tr once more.
Sound:
Sound is coming from onl one of the speakers. Is the
balance set to one direction extreme? See SOUND
menu.
Remote Control:
Your TV no longer responds to the remote control.
Press the TV button on the remote control once more.
Perhaps the batteries are exhausted. If so ou can still
use the local ke s at the front of our TV.
Have ou selected the wrong menu? Press TV ke to
return to TV mode or press  MENU to return to the
previous menu.
No solution:
Switch our TV set off and on. If this does not work, call
the service personnel; never attempt to repair it ourself.
