Placement
When used as a submersible pump, the pump needs to be completely immersed in
water; it needs to sit at least 6 inches below the surface to prevent inhalation of air.
When used un-submersed the pump must have an un-obstructed continuous flow of
water or else it will not pump sufficiently and may overheat. You can either place the
pump lower in elevation than the surface of the water or prime it with a check valve.
When used un-submersed above elevation remove the pre-filter, screw on the adapter
to the inlet and connect the water hose/pipe with a hose clamp. To prime the pump
put a check valve on the water intake (where the hose/pipe meets the water source)
then fill the pump with water from the top of the unit (outlet) completely with no air
gaps. If you don't fill the pump completely prior to turning it on water will not flow
through. Attach another hose/pipe to the outlet adapter with a clamp and it’s ready to
use.
Tips:
Don't let the pump freeze during the wintertime. Bring it inside when it gets cold.
The plug should be placed in a water-proof area and should be at least 6 feet away from
the edge of the pond.
Keep the water clean to prolong the life of the pump.
The pump has a built-in thermal overload device which prevents the pump from
overheating. If the unit overheats it will automatically shut off. Please allow the pump
to cool down before restarting. If the unit continues to overheat it is usually caused by
an obstruction.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
The pump comes assembled. To take it apart for cleaning start by sliding off the foot
plate. The foot plate comes with 4 plastic feet that slide in an out of the base. Take off
the pre-filter by pressing the two buttons in on one side. Unscrew the 4 screws
connecting the pump body with the pump chamber. Pull the pump chamber apart from
the pump body. Remove the seal O-ring and impeller/rotor.
To re-assemble the pump, put the rotor with impeller into the pump body, put on the
sealing ring, and then install the pump chamber. Tighten the screws, clip the pre- filter
back into place, and finally install the rear cover and suction feet.
Maintenance:
1. Clean the pump regularly to ensure optimal performance.
2. When cleaning the blockage in the pump body, please disconnect the power supply
first, and then disassemble it correctly according to the steps.
3. Use soft cloth to wipe the impeller and clean the pump with clear water.
4. Remove the pump inlet to access the impeller. Turn around the rotor to check if it is
broken or jammed.
5. Check the pump inlet, outlet, and connecting pipe if it is blocked.

Troubleshooting:
1. If the pump stops working potential solutions are check the power, let the pump cool
down and clean the rotor of obstructions.
2. While setting up the pump unsubmerged refer to the placement section for proper
setup.
