beforeusingthedishwasher.
1. Seperate the various
packaging materials and
dispose of safely - DO NOT
leave discarded packaging
materialaroundthehome.
2. Afterremovingthepackaging,
check to make sure your
applianceisintact.Ifindoubt,
contact a qualified
professional.
3. DONOTuse extensionleads
and multiple plugs. If the
electricity supply wire is not
long enough, then have it
replacedwithoneofthecorrect
length and remember that it
should be free of bends or
dangerouskinks.
4. Intheeventofanydamageto
the power cord have it
replaced by a qualified
technician.
5. Themainsplugmustbeeasily
accessibleafterinstallation.
6. Iftheapplianceisnotoperating
properly or if maintenance
operations are necessary,
disconnect the dishwasher
fromthemainspowersupply
(unplugit!).
7. DONOTinstalloutdoors,not
eveniftheareaiscoveredby
a roof: it is extremely
dangeroustoleaveitexposed
torainandthunderstorms.
8. If installed on a carpeted or
coveredfloor,ensurethatthe
openingsontheundersideare
notobstructed.
9. Do not touch the heating

turnoffthewaterinlettapand
disconnecttheplugfromthe
wallsocket.Thenreadthe

Installation
Coldwaterconnection.
Connect the cold water supply
hose, inserting the small filter
suppliedwiththedishwasherand
makingsurethatitisfastenedtightly
inplace(seefigure2).Ifthewater
hosesareneworhavebeenoutof
useforanextendedperiodoftime,
letthewaterruntomakesureitis
clearandfreeofimpuritiesbefore
making the connection. If this
precautionisnottaken,thewater
inlet could get blocked, causing
damagetoyourdishwasher.
Choosewhereyouwanttoinstall
yourdishwasher,youcanplaceit
sothatitssidesorbackpanelare
side by side with furniture or up
againstthewall.Thedishwasheris
providedwithwatersupplyanddrain
hoses, which can be directed
towardstheleftorrighttofacilitate
appropriateinstallation.
Levelling.
Oncetheapplianceispositioned,
adjustthefeetbyscrewingthemin
oroutdependingonhowhighyou
want it and to level it so that it is
horizontal.Makesurethatitisnot
inclinedmorethan2degrees.Ifthe
applianceislevel,itwill helpensure
itscorrectoperation.
HeightAdjustment
Inserttheapplianceintothecutout
andthenadjusttheheightusingthe
screwslocatedonthefrontbottom
part of the machine. Use a
screwdriverto turn the screws in
the clockwise or anti-clockwise
directiontoincreaseordecrease
theheightrespectively.

which connect to the foul drain
system and not to surface water
drains.
IMPORTANT: For the correct
operationofyourdishwasher,itis
essentialtocomplywiththefollowing
information:-
Standpipe:
Ensurethatthehoseisnotpushed
toofardownthestandpipe.
Iftheendofyourdrainhoseisfitted
with‘retainingflaps’,ensuretheyare
insertedfullyintothestandpipe. This
willpreventthepipefromjumping
outduringinstallationanduse.
DO NOT position the standpipe
nearanelectricaloutlet.
ENSUREthatthedrainhoseisnot
kinkedanditisroutedasshownin
thediagram.
Thestandpipeshouldhaveabore
ofatleast38mm(11/2”).Itshould
beinstalledasshown,haveatrap
fittedandmustdischargeintothe
same drain system as your
householdsink.
It MUST NOT be connected to a
surfacewaterdrain.
SinkWasteSystem:
Forundersinkdrainage:
Beforeconnectingthedrainhose,
removeanyinternalrestrictions-
Thiswillpreventabuildupofdebris
whichcouldcauseablockage.
Removeanyrestrictionsfromthe
wastespigotand ensurethatthe
sealingbungisremoved.Thehose
should be routed, such that it is
raised to a minimum height of
800mm(31/2”).
NOTE:Ensurethesinkoutlet
pipehasaminimumdiamtereof
32mm.
1.UntietheendoftheGREY
drainagehosefromtherearof
theappliance.
2.Repositionthe‘HookedEnd
Support’asrequiredalongthe
GREYdrainagehose.
3.Iffittinganundersinkwaste
disposalunit,cutoutthe
membrane,bungorblanking
plug.
4.AttachtheGREYdrainage
hosetotheundersinkwaste
disposalunitsecurely,usingthe
clipandrubbertubesupplied.
Ensurethedrainhoseis
securelyattached,toprevent
itcoming away whilethe
machineis inuseandcausing
aflood.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLING THE DISHWASHER IN
FULLY-FITTED KITCHENS.
Your freestandingdishwasher canbeinstalledinmodernkitchensasfollows:
l to stand next to furniture units or other electric household appliances
(Pleasereadthechapteron “Installation”intheinstructionmanual.)
l to insert or built-in under the one worktop.
Shoulditbenecessarytoremovethetopshelfofthedishwasher,proceedasfollows:
–Unscrewthe2rearscrewsandthen,withalightpushforward,letitslideoutandremoveit(seefig.1)
–Discardthepolystyrenerectangle.
–Openthedoorand,afterunscrewingthefixingscrews,removethe3plasticplugsusedtohooktheshelfon(fig.2)
–Glueonthesmallsoundproofingadhesivespongystripontothetopcrosspiece(photo3)and,aftertiltingtheappliance,glue
onanotheroneunderneaththebase(photo4).
–Straightenuptheapplianceandadjustthefrontandbackfeetbyunscrewingtheminananti-clockwisedirectiontoraisethe
dishwashertotherequiredheight.
–Inserttheapplianceunderneaththeworktop(fig.5),checkingthattheinletandoutletpipesdonotgetbentorsquashed (please
readtheinstructionsprovidedinthe“Installation”chapter).
–Openthedishwasherdoorandglueonthetwoequal-sizedadhesivespongystripsonthefrontedgeoftheappliancecabinet.
Beginfromthetopwithoutleavingoutanyspacesandmakesurethestripsadhereallalongthelengthoftheedge.Asmallpart
ofthespongystripprotrudingontotheoutsidewillblockanylightleftbetweenthedishwasherandadjacentcabinets,thus
improvingthesoundproofing.
Warning:
Thedishwasherplugmustbewithinaccessoncetheappliancehasbeenbuiltin,inordertoallowformaintenancetobecarried
outsafely.
Thestructureofyourdishwashermakesitimpossibletofititunderahob.

You've left out a dish?
Well,ithappenstoeveryone.Inter-
ruptthewashcyclebypressingthe
ON-OFFbutton,insertthedishyou
hadforgottenand press the ON-
OFF button again. The cycle will
startupfromwhereyouinterrupted
it.

How to use your Dishwasher
You decide when it starts.
Whenyouhaveloadedthedishes,
youcanchoosewhentostartyour
dishwasherbeforesettingthewash
cycledesired.Pressbutton"D"to
delaythestartofthewashcycleby
12,9,6or3hours.Eachtimeyou
pressit,youwillhearashortbeep
and the indicator light "G"
corresponding to the selected
delaywilllightup.
Now you can select the desired
washcycle.Pressthestartbutton
"R"andafteryouhearthebeep,the
countdowntothedelayedstartwill
begin.
Oncethistimeisup,theindicator
lightwillstopflashingandthewash
cyclewillbegin.
Ifyouhaveseta12hourdelay,for
example,onceyouhaveselected
the wash cycle, the 12 hour
indicator light will flash followed
bytheothersinsequenceuntilthe
settimedelayisup.Aquicklookat
the indicator lights will keep you
informedofthecountdownprogress
atalltimes.
Have you changed your
mind?
Ifyouchangeyourmind,youcan
setashortertimedelay:pressbut-
ton "D" to select it. You need not
resetthewashcycle.
If on the other hand you want to
cancelthedelaysetandyouwant
the cycle to start immediately,
pressbutton"D"repeatedlyuntilthe
cyclestartsandindicatorlight"G"
corresponding to the cycle start
phasecomeson.

To optimise wash performance and save on energy, try yo use the dishwasher with a full wash load. If it takes some time to fill your
dishwasher, use the soak cycle to avoid caked on food and build up of bad odours.

Adjustingthewatersoftener.
Yourdishwashercanadjustitssalt
consumptionaccordingtothehard-
ness of the water in your home.
This way, you can optimise and
customiseyourdishwasher'ssalt
consumption.
Toadjustsaltconsumption,doas
follows:
1.Unscrewthesaltcontainercap
2. There is an arrow on the neck
ofthecontainer(seefigure):if
necessary,turnthearrowanti-
clockwise from the "-" setting
to the "+" setting.
Select the arrow position
depending on the water
hardness,referringtothetable.
To prevent rust
from forming, load
the salt just before
beginning a wash

1.Pull out the lower basket
completely, unscrew and
removethecontainercap
2. If it is the first time you add the
salt,firstfillthecontainerupwith
water(youwon'thavetodothis
againnexttime)
3.Putthedishwasherfunnelonthe
holeandpourinapproximately
twokilosofsalt.Itisnormalthat
some water comes out of the
container.
4. Screw the cap back in place
carefully.
When to add salt.
The salt container should be filled
upwhen the lowsalt indicator light
"S"flashes.Yourappliancewill re-
mind you to do so for 5 consecu-
tive wash cycles.

Rinse aid makes dishes sparkle
moreasitimprovestheirdrying.The
rinseaidcontainerissituatedonthe
insideoftheappliancedoor,you
shouldrefillitwhenlight “D”indicates
thatitisempty.
(Ifyourdishwasherisfittedwitha
“lowrinseaid”indicatorlight,fillthe
containerupwhentheindicatorlight
flashesorlightsup).

Loading your Dishwasher
First of all.

Care and Cleaning
The filter assembly
• Ifyouwantconsistentgoodresults
fromyourdishwasher,youneedto
cleanthefilterassembly.
•Removethelargerfoodparticles
trappedinsidethecup“C”andthe
semi-circular filter A after each
wash;pullthecuphandleupwards
to remove them. Just rinse them
underrunningwater.
•Theentirefilterassemblyshould
be cleaned thoroughly once a
month:cupC+semi-circularfilter
A+cylindricalfilterB.Rotatefilter
“B”anticlockwisetoremoveit.
For cleaning, use a non metallic
brush.
Reassemble the filter parts (as
shownin the figure)andreinsert
the whole assembly into the
dishwasher. Position it into its
housingandpressdownwards.
Thedishwasherisnottobeused
without filters. Improper
replacementofthefiltersmayre-
ducetheefficiencyofthewashand
evendamageyourdishwasher.
Cleaning the spray arms.
Food residue may become
encrustedontothesprayarmsand
blocktheholeswherewatercomes
out.Checkthesprayarmsregularly
andcleanthemonceinawhile.
DONOTusesolventsorabrasives
to clean the exterior and rubber
partsofyourappliance,donotuse
solvents or abrasive cleaning
products.Useaclothdampened
withlukewarmsoapywateronly.
Ifthereareanystainsonthesurface
oftheapplianceinterior,useacloth
dampenedwith water anda little
whitevinegar,oracleaningproduct
specificallymadefordishwashers.

Cleaning the Water Inlet
Filter
Periodically clean the water inlet
filter (see figure 2 under
"Installation")locatedontheoutlet
ofthewatersupplytap.Afterturning
offthewatertap,unscrewtheend
ofthewatersupplyhose,remove
thefilterandcleanitcarefullyunder
runningwater.Then,returnthefilter
to its place and tighten the water
supplyhosebackintoposition.
Unplug the appliance.
Beforecarryingoutanycleaningor
maintenanceonthedishwasher,
alwaysremovetheplugfromthe
electricitysocket.
After every wash.
Whenthewashcyclehasended,
always remember to turn off the
watersupply tapandtoleavethe
appliance door ajar. This way,
moistureandbadodourswillnot
betrappedinside.
The seals.
One of the factors that cause
unpleasantodours toforminside
thedishwasherisfoodthatremains
trapped in the seals. Periodic
cleaningusingadampspongewill
preventthisfromoccurring.
Going away
Ifthedishwasherisnotgoingtobe
usedforsometime,carryoutthe
following:
•runacyclewiththedishwasher
empty.
•switchoffattheelectricalsocket
andunplug.
•turn off the water supply tap,
disconnecttheinlethoseand
allowtodrain.
•filltherinseaiddispenser.
•leavethedoorajar,topreventthe
buildupofunpleasantodours
insidethedishwasher.
Beforeusingthedishwasherafter
alongbreak,pluginandswitchon
attheelectricalsocket.Reconnect
theinlethoseandturnonthewater
supply tap. Check there are no
deposits of rust inside the water
pipe,ifthereareallowwatertorun
from the supply tap for a few
minutes.
Moving the appliance.
Drainwaterfromthedishwasher.
Secure all loose parts. Only
transportinanuprightposition.
•Ifnotkeptuprightduringtransport,
anywaterremaininginsidemay
seepintothecontrolmoduleand
causesubsequent errorswith
programmefunctions.
Disconnecting the
dishwasher.
When disconnecting the
dishwasheritisimportantthattasks
are carried out in the correct
sequence.

Thesefaultsarereportedbyoneor
twocycleindicatorlights"E"flash-
ing rapidly. Take a note of which
lightsareflashing,turntheappli-
anceoffandcallHotpointService
fortechnicalassistance.
Tap off alarm
Ifyouhaveforgottentoturnthewa-
tertap on, your appliancewill re-
mindyouofthisbysoundingafew
shortbeepsforafewminutes.Turn
thetaponandyourappliancewill
startupagainafterafewminutes.
Wereyoutobeabsentwhenthese
beepsaresounded,theappliance
willbe blockedautomaticallyand
cycle 4 and 5 indicator lights
(Fast&DryandPrewashcycle)will
flashrapidly.Turntheapplianceoff
attheON-OFFbutton,turnonthe
watertapandwaitapproximately
20secondsbeforeturningtheap-
pliancebackon.
Re-selectthewashcycleandthe
appliancewillstartupagain.
Cloggedfilteralarm
If the appliance is blocked and
indicator lights 3 (eco) and 5
(prewash)flashrapidly,thismeans
the filter is clogged by large
particlesoffoodresidue.Turnthe
appliance off, clean the filter
thoroughly and reposition it in its
seatasillustratedonpage13.Then
turn it back on. Repeat the
programmingoperationsandthe
selectedwashcyclewillstart up
again.
Waterloadsolenoidvalve
malfunctionalarm.
If indicator light 4 (Fast&Dry)
flashes rapidly, turn the
dishwasheroffandbackonagain
after one minute. If the alarm
persists,firstturnoffthewatertap
toavoidanyfloodingandthencut
off the electricity supply and call
fortechnicalassistance.
If after all the checks, the appli-
ancestilldoesnotoperateorthe
problem persists, call Hotpoint
Service (see KEY CONTACTS,
backpage)andinformthemof:

Resolving minor problems yourself.
Experience has shown that you can resolve most problems that arise during normal daily usage yourself, without having
