The law requires that personnel using this type of equipment in
the workplace must be competent and qualified to do so.

Never push the equipment beyond its design limits. If it
will not do what you want with reasonable ease and speed,
assume you have the wrong equipment for the job. Contact
HSS Hire for advice.
Keep the equipment clean - you will find this less of a
chore if you clean it regularly, rather than wait until the end
of the hire period.
Only use the air conditioner for the purpose it was
designed for. Improper use may cause expensive damage
and could be dangerous.
When not in use, store the equipment somewhere
clean, dry and secure.

Switch off the unit by pressing the Power button.
Unplug it from its power supply and coil the power
supply cable and give the unit a final clean up ready for
return, to HSS Hire.

SPECIFICATIONS
If H8 displays on the LCD control panel then the
condensate tray is full.
Remove the bung from the rear hose and drain the
water.

There is a serious risk of personal injury if you do not
follow all instructions laid down in this guide.
The hirer has a responsibility to ensure that all
necessary risk assessments have been completed prior
to the use of this equipment.
This equipment should only be used by an operator
who has been deemed competent to do so by his/her
employer.
This equipment should be used by a competent adult
who has read and understood these instructions.
Anyone with either a temporary or permanent disability,
should seek expert advice before using it.
Keep children, animals and bystanders away from the
work area. Cordon off a NO GO area using cones and
either barriers or tape, available for hire from HSS Hire.
Never use this equipment if you are ill, feeling
tired, or under the influence of alcohol or
drugs.
Always transport and store the unit in an upright
position, never lay it on its side.
Never touch the heat exchanger fins with bare hands.
Ensure the work area is well lit and ventilated, if in doubt,
ask about lighting and ventilation equipment at HSS Hire.
Keep your fingers and clothing away from any moving
parts.
Never touch the compressor or refrigerant piping
without wearing gloves.
This equipment is heavy (45kg), never attempt to lift
it, always get help.
Do not use this equipment without the air filter.
Never leave the unit running and unattended.
When positioning the unit, consider the floor surface.
Avoid placing the unit directly on to carpet or any other
surface that maybe easily damaged.
Clear the site after installation.
Never install the unit in a place where a combustible gas
might leak, or it may lead to fire or explosion.
Never wash the unit with water.
Should any emergency occur, stop the unit and disconnect
the power immediately.
Check the condition of the equipment before use. If it
shows signs of damage or excessive wear, return it to HSS Hire.

GETTING STARTED
INSTALLATION
The length of the exhaust pipe
should be between 50 - 150 cm. The
shorter the better air flow. The pipe
should be positioned as flat as
possible. Do not prolong the pipe
or extend with another exhaust
pipe. Doing so may cause
abnormal operation.
When installing exhausting pipe
to the wall the hole should at
about 40 - 100 cm from the floor.
If the exhaust pipe requires to be
bent please consider following solutions:
CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS
To start or stop the unit press the Power button.
You can choose between 4 operation modes. Press Mode
button and select either Cool, Dry, Fan or Heat.
Control temperature with up and down volume buttons.
Please note, this applies only in Cool and Heat modes.
Pressing up or down buttons will increase or decrease
temperature by 1 oC. The minimum temperature can be set
to 16 oC and maximum to 30 oC.
In order to use fan press Fan button and select either Low,
Med (Medium), Turbo or Auto.
The unit has a timer function. By pressing Timer button you
enter into the timer setting mode. With up or down buttons
you can adjust the timer. After time is set up the unit will
display temperature. To cancel the timer just press Timer
button again.
The sleep function is available for heating and cooling only.
Activate sleep by pressing Sleep button.
When sleep mode is activated in cooling mode the preset
temperature will decrease by 2 oC within 2 hours and the
unit will keep operating in this temperature. When sleep
mode is activated in heating mode the preset temperature
will increase by 2 oC within 2 hours and the unit will keep
operating in this temperature.
Always remove the plug from the power socket before
undertaking any type of intervention, or if it is left
unattended or within children or people’s reach not
quite conscious of their own actions.
Before removing the plug, switch off the machine.
When unplugging pull the plug, not the supply cable.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, always use a
suitable RCD (Residual Current-Operated Device)
available from HSS Hire.
Ensure the unit and power socket are switched OFF
before plugging into the power supply.

Avoid bending the exhaust
pipe too much. Sharp
bends can cause abnormal
operation.
The HSS Compact Air Conditioner plugs into a standard
230V 13amp power socket.
If the equipment fails, or if its power supply cable or
plug becomes damaged, return it. Never try to repair it
yourself.
Keep cables out of harm’s way, and clear of the work area.
Extension leads should be fully unwound and loosely
coiled, away from the equipment. Never run them
through water, over sharp edges or where they could trip
someone.
Never use the HSS Compact Air Conditioner until you
have fully read and understood this User Guide and the
machine has been properly set up using the information
it contains.
