Preparationsbeforeuse
Setting up HOLD Function
HOLD function locks all the button functions to prevent
unwanted use and the discharge of the battery.
HOLD switch performs locking function during playback or
recording and manual power off function at STOP mode.
Power ON/OFF
Adjusting the Volume
Volume can be adjusted from level 0 to 20 at STOP mode
or during Playback.
Press the + or - VOL button to adjust the volume.
Selecting VOICE/MP3 Mode
While in STOP mode, press the FUNCTION/A B
REPEAT( ) button to switch to VOICE or
MP3 mode.
Selecting a Folder
Folder can be selected during playing back and recording.
While in VOICE mode, press the MENU button
once to display the current folder and the number
of files. Then, push the JOG button up or down to
change the folder.
Installing the Battery
1. Slide the battery cover in the
direction of the arrow 2.

Recording begins with the red light on the recording indicator.
The display shows the current folder, file number,
recording elapsed time and the recording sound level.
To Continue Recording onto the Next File Number
To record the next file number while recording,
press JOG button upward.
The recorder stops recording onto the current file number and
continues recording onto the next file number.
To Stop Recording
Press REC/STOP button once again.
The redlightgoes off and recording stops.
To Add Recording
Press and hold REC/STOP button for
more than 3 seconds at STOP mode.
The recorder attaches the message to the current file number.
Recording
To record, please position the built-in microphone toward the sound source.
To check the recording time remaining: Press the JOG button in while
recording to display the recording time remaining.
Press MENU button during recording in order to change the previous setting
of VOR function.
Using

Playback
Select the folder which contains the file to play.
For folder selection, please refer to page 6.
In stop mode, push up or pull down the JOG button
to select the file number to play back.
For careful search, press the button briefly.
For quick search, press and hold the button for a few seconds.
Press JOG button in.
The Recorder starts playback with the file number,
playback elapsed time and playback sound level.

Now, press JOG button in again to resume playback from the previous stop position(Pause Function).
To Skip to Other Files during Playback
Press JOG button up briefly during playback.
The Recorder stops playing current file
and starts playing the next file.

The playback returns to the beginning of the current file.
If you press REW once again, it plays the preceding file.
To Search the Desired Section within a File
Push up and hold JOG button during playback.
The file is fast forwarded and playback resumes
when you release the button.
Pull down and hold JOG button during playback.
The file is rewinded and playback resumes
when you release the button.
In stop mode, push up or pull down the JOG button
to select the file number to play back.
For careful search, press the button briefly.
For quick search, press and hold the button for a few seconds.
Press the JOG button straight down. The file number
and playing time are displayed and playback starts.

If Recording Quality is Set to LP Mode : During playback, press the MENU button. Then, you can set
"Remaining Playback Time Repeat Playback Playback Speed Listen and Repeat".
If you pressed the MENU button during playback and MENU mode is displayed, the display
automatically changes to show the playback time when no button is pressed for 10 seconds.
To complete the selection and exit from the setting menu, please wait for a moment
or press buttons other than MENU and JOG buttons after setting the desired mode.
To go on to the next mode setting, please press MENU button once again
after setting the desired mode.

LT-LEP ON: Select to turn on
the Listen & Repeat function. LT-REP OFF: Select to turn off
the Listen & Repeat function.
While in STOP mode, press the MENU button three times to display LISTEN & REPEAT mode.
Then, you can push the JOG button up or down to select LT-REP ON or LT-REP OFF.
You can repeatedly listen to and repeat after the A-B section of the recording
you have set with the section Repeat Playback function.

and if the MENU button is pressed while EQ POP, JAZZ, ROCK, or CLASSIC is displayed,
the mode changes to No. LOUDNESS.

The VOR (Voice Operating Record) function activates the recorder only when sound is
present and pauses during silence.
While in STOP mode, press the MENU button
three
times to display the current VOR mode.
Then, you can push the JOG button up or down to select VOR ON or VOR OFF.
VOR ON : Select to use VOR recording function. VOR OF : Select not to use VOR recording function.
In VOICE Mode
During playback, press the MENU button seven
times to display LOUDNESS mode.
Then, you can push the JOG button up or down to
select LOUD ON or LOUD OFF

While in STOP mode, press the MENU button
eight times to display the current VARIABLE
SPEED PLAYBACK mode. Then, you can push the
JOG button up or down to select the desired speed
as follows: SP R:75 SP R:100 SP R:150.
While in STOP mode, press the MENU button four times to display MIC
SENSITIVITY mode. Then, you can push the JOG button up or down to
select the desired setting as follows: MIC HI MIC LO MIC US.

MIC HI:
Select in case the sound
source is distant or the
ambient noise level is low.
MIC LO:Select in case the sound
source is close or the
ambient noise level is high.

DeletingaRecordedFile
To Delete a Recorded File
Select the recorded file you want to delete, and then
briefly press the ERASE button. The selected file will
blink. Then, briefly press the ERASE button again to
delete the file.
To Delete All Data in the Selected Folder
Select a recorded file from the folder you want to delete
and then briefly press the ERASE button. The selected
file will blink. Then, press and hold the ERASE button
for 5 seconds. All data in the folder will be deleted.
To Delete All Folders and MP3 Files
Press and hold the ERASE button for 5 seconds.
All folders will blink.
Then, press and hold the ERASE button for 5 seconds.
All four folders and MP3 files will be deleted.

Setting Current Time
While in STOP mode, press and hold the MENU button for
3 seconds to display CURRENT TIME mode. Then, push
the JOG button up or down to set the current time.
Setting Alarm Time and Alarm File
While CURRENT TIME mode is displayed, press the MENU button once
to display ALARM TIME and ALARM FILE mode. Push the JOG button
up or down and then push it straight down to set the alarm ON/OFF,
alarm time, and alarm file.While CURRENT TIME mode is displayed,
press the MENU button once to display ALARM TIME and ALARM FILE
mode. Push the JOG button up or down and then push it straight down
to set the alarm ON/OFF, alarm time, and alarm file.
Setting Programmed Recording Time
While CURRENT TIME mode is displayed, press the MENU button twice
to display PROGRAMMED RECORDING TIME mode. Push the JOG
button up or down and then push it straight down to set the
programmed recording time. (Even if PROGRAMMED RECORDING is
set, recording will not be take place if you make a recording or play back
a file at a time preset for the programmed recording or if the current
folder is set to MP3 folder.)
The ERASE operation is cancelled if any other button is pressed during the selected
file number is flickering or the ERASE button is not pressed again in 5 seconds.
Check before deleting - Deleted messages cannot be recovered.
Using

ConnectingtoanAudioSystem
To Record Contents of the Audio into the Voice Recorder
Connect the Voice Recorder to the audio system.
Connect the Microphone/Input terminal to
the Earphone terminal of the audio system using
the supplied external device connection cable.
Press REC/STOP button and the play button of the audio system
simultaneously.
The Voice Recorder starts recording the audio contents.
Press REC/STOP button and the stop button of the audio system
simultaneously.
The Voice Recorder stops recording.

Press JOG button of the Voice Recorder and the stop button of the
audio system.

Connect the Voice Recorder to the audio system.
Connect the Earphone/Output terminal to the microphone
terminal of the audio system using the supplied external
device connection cable.

Press JOG button of the Voice Recorder and the record button of the
audio system simultaneously.
The selected file in the Voice Recorder is recorded into the audio system.
Adjust the recording sound volume with the volume control of the audio system.
Recording quality may be affected by the performance of the external device. The recording sound volume can be adjusted using VOL button of the Voice Recorder.

The input volume of the recorded sound is affected by the telephone and phone line
condition. If input volume is too low, disable the VOR function.

External Device

DVR-Manager should be installed to PC prior to connecting Voice Recorder to PC.
When you insert DVR-Manager CD into CD-ROM drive, the language selection window appears.

External Device

Upon connecting Voice Recorder and PC using USB connection cable after execution of DVR-Manager,
driver is automatically installed. In case driver is not installed automatically, specify another file.
Installation of Drivers
When the "PortRST.sys file cannot be found" message appears,
specify the PortRST.sys file in C:\Program files\DVRM\DVR-002\usbdrivers.
When the "Bulkusb.sys file cannot be found" message appears,

In Windows 2000 /XP, if you receive the message "Hardware is not installed
properly", restart your PC and re-install.

Once the installation is complete, the shortcut icon appears on your desktop.

After connecting the Voice Recorder to PC, try not to touch the Voice Recorder
since it may cause the malfunction of the device.
First connect the Voice Recorder to PC for the better use of the Voice
Manager Pro software.

Read this information before using your voice recorder.
Precautions
1. Do not drop the unit or give a shock to the unit.
It may cause a malfunction.
2. Do not leave the unit in such a location as described below.
A place of very high temperature (60
A place subject to direct sunlight or near heat sources
A car with its windows closed (especially in summer)
A place subject to excessive moisture like a bathroom
A place subject to excessive dust

Do not apply heavy forces to the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) unit,
or it may cause breakage or abnormal display taking into account
the properties of liquid crystal.
4. If you place cards using magnetism such as cash cards or
transportation pass cards near to the speaker of the unit,
the magnetism may be transformed due to magnetic influence
so that the magnetic cards cannot be used any more.
5. Our company does not reimburse you for any loss from the use
of the Voice recorder or any demand of indemnity from a third party.
6. Message loss due to malfunctions, repairs, etc is not a responsibility
of ours. Please understand this.
For the unit
1. Do not short-circuit, disassemble or heat the battery, or do not put
the battery into a fire. Electrolyte such as an alkaline solution may
flow out, so you may get it in your eyes, or it may cause the generation
of heat, or the breakdown of the battery.
2. When the skin or clothes are stained with electrolyte such as an
alkaline solution, wash the stain out with water immediately.
If you get it in your eyes, seek immediate medical treatment after
washing out the area of the eye with water.
4. When the unit is not in use for a long time, remove the battery
from the unit.
For the Battery
1. Do not repair, disassemble or modify this unit by yourself.
2. If smoke or deformation occurs due to the generation of heat,
remove the battery from the unit immediately.
3. Do not use this unit in an airplane or place where the use of
electronic machines are prohibited.
4. Do not use during you are driving or walking.
