Basic Sa ety Precautions
Detailed In ormation
•This Quick Reference Guide does not replace your
vehicle’s Owner’s Manual.
•If you require additional information or are unsure
of a specific issue, you should always refer to the
vehicle’s Owner’s Manual or contact your dealer.
Automatic Transmission
•Whenever operating the vehicle, make sure that you
and your occupants are properly wearing your
seatbelts.
•Small children should always ride in the rear seat
in the appropriate child restraint system (see the
Owner’s Manual for child safety details).
•Never place children under 13 years old in the
front seats to avoid injury that may result from
air bag deployment.
•Always refer to the Owner’s Manual for complete
safety precaution information.
To select automatic mode, shift to D.
To select SHIFTRONIC™ mode, move the shift lever
right to the manual shift gate from the D (Drive)
position. The instrument cluster displays the
selected forward gear.

•Exterior – Walk around the vehicle and check for cleanliness, dents,
scratches and dirt.
•Interior – Check for loose papers, cleanliness and dirt.
•Make sure air pressure in each tire has been checked and is at the
proper pressure, oil level has been checked, audio system is at an appropriate
level, driver’s seat is back and tilt steering wheel is in the “up” position.
•The De ivery – Walk around the vehicle with the customer and point
out locking fuel door and proceed to rear hatch area.
❑Rear Hatch – Use the remote to open rear hatch; also demonstrate
key operation
•Show large opening and low loading height
•Point out cargo area light
•Spare tire/tools
•Emergency fuel door release
•Emergency trunk release
•Rear seat release knobs: demonstrate rear seat release and
move to second row
❑Driver’s Area: Use the remote to open the driver’s door
•Adjust seat
•Fasten seatbelt/adjust shoulder height
•Adjust steering wheel (tilt)
•Adjust headrest
❑Driver’s Door
•Rear hatch remote release
•Power window/window lock/power door lock/release
•Point out that the doors will automatically unlock in the event
of an accident that causes the airbags to deploy
•Mirror switch: have customer adjust outside and inside mirrors
•Point out remote locking fuel door release
❑Driver’s Contro s: Dash ( eft to Right)
•Instrument panel illumination switch adjusts gauge illumination
•ESC and TCS switches (if equipped)
•eft stalk: head and fog lights — low/high/high beam flash
•eft stalk turn signals: left and right
•Cruise control (if equipped) - explain controls
•Right stalk: wiper/washer controls (front and rear)
•Instrument panel:
•Tachometer
•Speedometer
•Fuel gauge
•Engine temperature gauge
•Warning/indicator lights: turn ignition to “on” position and
warning/indicator lights will appear — after engine starts,
lights will go out unless system detects a problem:
•Check engine light
•Airbag warning light
•Anti-lock Braking System (ABS)
•Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control
(TCS) lights (if equipped)
•Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light (if equipped)
•Seatbelt warning light
•Turn signal indicator light
•High beam
•Engine oil pressure warning
•Parking brake and brake fluid warning
•Automatic SHIFTRONIC pattern indicators (if equipped
with automatic transmission)

After adding fuel, always reinstall the
fuel cap fully and make sure it clicks at
least 3 times. Failure to do this may
result in the "Check Engine” light
illuminating.

Check tire pressure at least once a month when the tires
are cold. Refer to the tire pressure label located on the
driver side center pillar outer panel
for correct pressure.
For 6-speed manual transmission models
(if equipped), lift collar tab to shift into R (Reverse).

A. Press UN OCK on the transmitter to disarm
and unlock the driver’s door. Press UN OCK
again within 4 seconds to unlock all the doors.
B. Press OCK on the transmitter to lock all the
doors and arm the alarm. Press OCK again
within 4 seconds to hear a confirmation chirp.
To remove og or rost on the windshield:
•Set the airflow control to the defrost ( )
position. (The A/C will turn on automatically and
"Fresh" mode will be activated.)
•Set the temperature control to the desired setting
•Set the fan speed control to position "3" or "4".
Windshield De ogging
•Push anchor upward to raise the height adjuster.
•Push anchor downward while pressing the
height adjuster button to lower.
Pressing the lock switch deactivates all of the power
window switches except for the driver's window.
To adjust the steering wheel tilt, pull the lock lever
and raise or lower the steering wheel to a comfortable
position. Release the lock lever to maintain desired
setting.

1. Move the select switch to the right or left to
activate the corresponding door mirror.
2. Adjust the mirror angle by depressing the
appropriate perimeter switch as illustrated.
3. Place the select switch in the middle position
to deactivate the perimeter switch.

To adjust the lumbar support, move the lever
on the outboard or left side of the seat to the
desired position.
Seat Cushion Height Adjustment
(Driver’s Seat Only):
To raise or lower the front part of the seat
cushion, turn the knob forward or rearward.

controlled by the same switch as the rear window defrost

•Show customer the airbag safety broacher located in the glove
box and ask them to read the important safety information contains.
