f t re reference. Sho ld the appliance be sold,
transferred or moved, make s re the instr ction
man al accompanies the washing machine to inform
the new owner as to its operation and feat res.
Read these instr ctions caref lly: they contain vital
information on installation, se and safety.
Unpacking and levelling
Unpacking
1. Unpack the washing machine.
2. Check whether the washing machine has been
damaged d ring transport. If this is the case, do not
install it and contact yo r retailer.
3. Remove the 3
protective screws and
the r bber b sh with the
respective spacer,
sit ated on the rear of
the appliance (see also
the installation leaflet).
NB:The plastic spacers
may fall down inside the
machine once the bolt
has been removed, and will not interfere with the
operation of the machine.
4. Seal the gaps sing the plastic pl gs provided.
5. Keep all the parts: yo will need them again if the
washing machine needs to be moved to another
location.
Packaging materials are not children's toys.
Levelling
Yo r machine may make a considerable amo nt of noise
if the two front feet have not been adj sted correctly.
1. Install the washing machine on a flat st rdy floor,
witho t resting it p against walls, f rnit re cabinets
or other.
2. If the floor is not
perfectly level, compen-
sate for any nevenness
by tightening or
loosening the adj stable
front feet (see figure);
the angle of inclination,
meas red according to
the worktop, m st not
exceed 2°.
Levelling yo r appliance correctly will provide it with
stability and avoid any vibrations, noise and shifting
d ring operation. If it is placed on a fitted or loose
carpet, adj st the feet in s ch a way as to allow
eno gh room for ventilation beneath the washing
machine.
Electric and water connections
Connecting the water inlet hose

and screw the latter
onto a cold water tap
with a 3/4 gas threaded
mo th (see figure).

of the water inlet hose to
the washing machine,

appliance's cold water
inlet, sit ated on the top
right-hand side on the
rear of the appliance (see
figure).
3. Make s re there are no kinks or bends in the
hose.
The water press re at the tap m st be within the
val es indicated in the Technical details table
(on the next page).
If the water inlet hose is not long eno gh, contact
a specialist store or an a thorised serviceman.
Ens re that the s pply taps are allowing water
thro gh. Old taps may seize in the closed position
and th s prevent water reaching the machine.

 We advise against the se of hose extensions; in
case of absol te need, the extension m st have the
same diameter as the original hose and m st not
exceed 150 cm in length.
Ens re that if the drain hose is p shed into a
standpipe, that the end does not go down more
than 15cms (6 inches). If the hose is p shed down
too far, this may ca se the machine to self -syphon
ie. contin o sly empty as it is filling.
Electric connection
Before pl gging the appliance into the mains
socket, make s re that:
 the socket is earthed and in compliance with the
applicable law;
 the socket is able to s stain the appliance's
maxim m power load indicated in the Technical
details table (see page 5);
 the s pply voltage is incl ded within the val es i
ndicated on the Technical details table
(see page 5);
 the socket is compatible with the washing
machine's pl g. If this is not the case, replace
the socket or the pl g.
Yo r appliance is now s pplied with a 13 amp f sed
pl g it can be pl gged into a 13 amp socket for
immediate se. Before sing the appliance please
read the instr ctions below.
WARNING - THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED.
THE FOLLOWING OPERATIONS SHOULD BE
CARRIED OUT BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.
Replacing the fuse:
When replacing a fa lty f se, a 13 amp ASTA
approved f se to BS 1362 sho ld always be sed,
and the f se cover re-fitted. If the f se cover is lost,
the pl g m st not be sed ntil a replacement is
obtained.
Replacement f se covers:
If a replacement f se cover is fitted, it m st be of
the correct colo r as indicated by the colo red
marking or the colo r that is embossed in words on
the base of the pl g. Replacements can be obtained
directly from yo r nearest Service Depot.
Removing the plug:
If yo r appliance has a non-rewireable mo lded pl g
and yo sho ld wish to re-ro te the mains cable
thro gh partitions, nits etc., please ens re that
either:
the pl g is replaced by a f sed 13 ampere re-
wearable pl g bearing the BSI mark of approval.
or:
the mains cable is wired directly into a 13 amp cable
o tlet, controlled by a switch, (in compliance with
BS 5733) which is accessible witho t moving the
appliance.
Disposing of the plug:
Ens re that before disposing of the pl g itself, yo
make the pins n sable so that it cannot be
accidentally inserted into a socket.

As the colo rs of the wires in the lead may not
correspond with the colo red markings identifyng
the terminals in yo r pl g, proceed as follows:
Connect Green & Yellow wire to terminal marked E

Black.
If a 13 amp pl g (BS 1363) is sed it m st be fitted
with a

How to connect an alternative pl g:
The wires in this mains lead are colo red in
accordance with the following code:

Disposing of the appliance:
When disposing of the appliance please remove the
pl g by c tting the mains cable as close as possible
to the pl g body and dispose of it as described
above.
 The washing machine sho ld not be installed in an
o tdoor environment, not even when the area is
sheltered, beca se it may be very dangero s to
leave it exposed to rain and th nderstorms.
 When the washing machine is installed, the mains
socket m st be within easy reach.
 Do not se extensions or m ltiple sockets.
 The power s pply cable m st never be bent or
dangero sly compressed.
 The power s pply cable m st only be replaced by
an a thorised serviceman.

Once the appliance has been installed, and before
yo se it for the first time, r n a wash cycle with
detergent and no la ndry, setting the 90°C
programme witho t a pre-wash cycle.

ON-OFF/DOOR LOCK led
If this LED is on, the appliance door is locked to prevent it from being opened accidentally; to avoid any
damages, wait for the LED to flash before yo open the appliance door.
 The rapid flashing of the ON-OFF/DOOR LOCK Led together with the flashing of at least one other LED
indicates there is an abnormality (see page 13).

Function buttons
The FUNCTION BUTTONS also act like LEDS.
When a f nction is selected, the corresponding

If the f nction selected is incompatible with the
programme set, the b tton will flash and the
f nction will not be enabled.
If yo set a f nction that is incompatible with
another f nction yo selected previo sly, only the
last one selected will be enabled.
Leds
The LEDS provide important information.
This is what they can tell yo :
Delay set:
If the Delay Timer f nction has been enabled (see
page. 9), once yo have started the programme,
the LED corresponding to the delay set will begin to
flash:
As time passes, the remaining delay will be
displayed, and the corresponding LED will flash:
Once the set delay is complete, the flashing LED will
t rn off and the programme set will start.

pecial programme
Dail (programme 11 for Synthetics) is designed to wash lightly soiled garments in a short amo nt of time: it only lasts
30 min tes and allows yo to save on both time and energy. By setting this programme (11 at 30°C), yo can wash
different fabrics together (except for woollen and silk items), with a maxim m load of 3 kg.
We recommend the use of liquid detergent.
Briefly: starting a programme
1. Switch the washing machine on by pressing b tton .
All the LEDS will light p for a few seconds and
the ON-OFF/DOOR LOCK Led will begin to flash.
2. Load yo r la ndry into the washing machine and
sh t the appliance door.
3. Set the PROGRAMME knob to the programme
req ired.
4. Set the wash temperat re (see page 9).
5. Add the detergent and any fabric softener (see page 10).
6. Start the programme by pressing the START/RESET
b tton for one second. Once the programme has
been accepted all of the option and stat s LED's
will ill minate momentarily, the Door Lock LED
will be lit and the relevant wash cycle progress
LED will also be lit.
To cancel it, keep the START/RESET b tton pressed
for at least 2 seconds.
7. When the programme is finished, the ON-OFF/
DOOR LOCK Led will flash to indicate that the
appliance door can be opened. Take o t yo r
la ndry and leave the appliance door ajar to allow
the dr m to dry thoro ghly. T rn the washing
machine off by pressing b tton .

C
etting the temperature
T rn the TEMPERATURE knob to set the wash temperat re (see Programme table on page 8).
The temperat re can be lowered, or even set to a cold wash ( ).
Functions
To enable a f nction:
1. press the b tton corresponding to the desired f nction, according to the table below;
2. the f nction is enabled when the corresponding b tton is ill minated.
Note: The rapid flashing of the b tton indicates that the corresponding f nction cannot be selected for the
programme set.

Detergent dispenser
Good washing res lts also depend on the correct
dose of detergent: adding too m ch detergent won't
necessarily make for a more efficient wash, and may
in fact ca se b ild p on the interior of yo r
appliance and even poll te the environment.

Preparing your laundry
 Divide yo r la ndry according to:
- the type of fabric/the symbol on the label.
- the colo rs: separate colo red garments from
whites.
 Empty all pockets and check for loose b ttons.
 Do not exceed the weight limits stated below,
which refer to the weight when dry:

Synthetic fabrics: max 2.5 kg
Delicate fabrics: max 2 kg

case or mesh bag. Wash them separately witho t
exceeding half the appliance load. Use programme 7

Quilted coats and windbreakers: if they are
padded with goose or d ck down, they can be
machine-washed. T rn the garments inside o t and
load a maxim m of 2-3 kg, repeating the rinse cycle
once or twice and sing the delicate spin cycle.
Wool: for best res lts, se a specific detergent,
taking care not to exceed a load of 1,5 kg.

Precautions and advice
 The washing machine was designed and b ilt in
compliance with the applicable international safety
reg lations. The following information is provided for
yo r safety and sho ld conseq ently be read caref lly.
General safety
 This appliance has been designed for non-
professional, ho sehold se and its f nctions m st
not be changed.
 This washing machine sho ld only be sed by
ad lts and in accordance with the instr ctions
provided in this man al.
 Never to ch the washing machine when barefoot
or with wet or damp hands or feet.
 Do not p ll on the power s pply cable to npl g
the appliance from the electricity socket. P ll the
pl g o t yo rself.
 Do not open the detergent dispenser while the
appliance is in operation.
 Do not to ch the drain water as it co ld reach
very high temperat res.
 Never force the washing machine door: this co ld
damage the safety lock mechanism designed to
prevent any accidental openings.
 In the event of a malf nction, do not nder any
circ mstances to ch internal parts in order to
attempt repairs.
 Always keep children well away from the
appliance while in operation.
 The appliance door tends to get q ite hot d ring
the wash cycle.
 Sho ld it have to be moved, proceed with the
help of two or three people and handle it with the
tmost care. Never try to do this alone, beca se
the appliance is very heavy.
 Before loading yo r la ndry into the washing
machine, make s re the dr m is empty.
Disposal
 Disposing of the packaging material:
observe local reg lations, so the packaging can
be re- sed.
 The E ropean Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Eq ipment, req ires that
old ho sehold electrical appliances m st not be
disposed of in the normal nsorted m nicipal
waste stream. Old appliances m st be collected
separately in order to optimise the recovery and
recycling of the materials they contain and red ce
the impact on h man health and the
environment. The crossed o t "wheeled bin"
symbol on the prod ct reminds yo of yo r
obligation, that when yo dispose of the appliance
it m st be separately collected.
Cons mers sho ld contact their local a thority or
retailer for information concerning the correct
disposal of their old appliance.
aving energy and respecting the
environment
Environmentally-friendly technology
If yo only see a little water thro gh yo r appliance
door, this is beca se thanks to the latest Indesit
technology, yo r washing machine only needs less
than half the amo nt of water to get the best
res lts: an objective reached to respect the
environment.
aving on detergent, water, energy and time
 To avoid wasting reso rces, the washing machine
sho ld be sed with a f ll load. A f ll load instead
of two half loads allows yo to save p to 50% on
energy.
 The pre-wash cycle is only necessary on
extremely soiled garments. Avoiding it will save on
detergent, time, water and between 5 and 15%
energy.
 Treating stains with a stain remover or leaving
them to soak before washing will c t down the
need to wash them at high temperat res. A
programme at 60°C instead of 90°C or one at
40°C instead of 60°C will save p to 50% on
energy.
 Use the correct q antity of detergent depending
on the water hardness, how soiled the garments
are and the amo nt of la ndry yo have, to avoid
wastage and to protect the environment: despite
being biodegradable, detergents do contain
ingredients that alter the nat ral balance of the
environment. In addition, avoid sing fabric
softener as m ch as possible.
 If yo se yo r washing machine from late in the
afternoon ntil the early ho rs of the morning, yo
will help red ce the electricity board's peak load.
The Delay Timer option (see page 9) helps to
organise yo r wash cycles accordingly.
 If yo r la ndry has to be dried in a t mble dryer,
select a high spin speed. Having the least water
possible in yo r la ndry will save yo time and
energy in the drying process.

Care and maintenance
Cutting off the water or electricity
supply
 T rn off the water tap after every wash. This will
limit the wear of yo r appliance's water system
and also prevent leaks.
 Unpl g yo r appliance when cleaning it and
d ring all maintenance operations.
Cleaning your appliance
The exterior and r bber parts of yo r appliance can
be cleaned with a soft cloth soaked in l kewarm
soapy water. Do not se solvents or abrasives.
Cleaning the detergent dispenser
Remove the dispenser

Caring for your appliance door and
drum
 Always leave the appliance door ajar to prevent
npleasant odo rs from forming.
Cleaning the pump
The washing machine is fitted with a self-cleaning
p mp that does not req ire any maintenance.
Sometimes, small items (s ch as coins or b ttons)
may fall into the pre-chamber that protects the
p mp, sit ated in the lower part of the same.
 Make s re the wash cycle has ended and npl g
the appliance.
To access the pre-chamber:
1. sing a screwdriver,
remove the cover panel
on the lower front of the
washing machine (see
figure);
2. nscrew the lid
rotating it anti-
clockwise (see figure): a
little water may trickle
o t. This is perfectly
normal;
3. clean the interior thoro ghly;
4. screw the lid back on;
5. reposition the panel, making s re the hooks are

Checking the water inlet hose
Check the water inlet hose at least once a year. If
yo see any cracks, replace it immediately: d ring
the wash cycles, water press re is very strong and
a cracked hose co ld easily split open.

Troubleshooting
Yo r washing machine co ld fail to work. Before calling for Assistance (see page 14), make s re the problem
can't easily be solved by cons lting the following list.
Problem

drain or spin.
The washing machine vibrates
too much during the spin cycle.
The washing machine leaks.
The ON-OFF/DOOR LOCK Led

There is too much foam.
Possible causes/ olution:
 The appliance is not pl gged into the socket, or not eno gh to make contact.
 There has been a power fail re.
 The appliance door is not sh t properly.
 The b tton has not been pressed.
 The START/RESET b tton has not been pressed.
NB: It sho ld be held minim m one second.
 The water tap is not t rned on.
 A delayed start has been set ( sing the Delay Timer, see page 9).
 The water inlet hose is not connected to the tap.
 The hose is bent.
 The water tap is not t rned on.
 There is a water shortage.
 The water press re is ins fficient.
 The START/RESET b tton has not been pressed.
 The drain hose is too low or too far in to the stand pipe (see page 3)
for correct installation.
 The wall drainage system doesn't have a standard pipe (min. 38 mm).
 Some programs have a slower final spin to taked best care of the
fabrics. See page 8 for details of the final spin speed for each program.
 The programme does not foresee the draining: some programmes
req ire enabling the draining man ally (see page 8).
 The Easy iron option is enabled: to complete the programme, press
the START/RESET b tton (see page 9).
 The drain hose is bent (see page 3).
 Remove the drain hose from the standpipe or nder-sink trap and check for
blockages, ens ring that the water can drain freely away from the machine.
 When the machine is installed, the locking screws for the oscillating
assembly are still in place. Remove the screws (see page 2).
 The washing machine is not level (see page 2).
 The washing machine is closed in between f rnit re cabinets and the wall (see page 2).
 The water inlet hose is not screwed on correctly (see page 2).
 The detergent dispenser is obstr cted (to clean it, see page 12).
 The drain hose is not sec red properly (see page 3).
 This means there is a problem with the machine. Before calling
Assistance, please follow the set of instr ctions below:
1. Switch off the machine;
2. Remove the pl g connecting the appliance to the mains s pply
and wait for at least 40 seconds;
3. Place the pl g back into the socket;
4. Switch on the machine;
5. If the problem is still evident after this process has been carried o t,
contact Assistance.
 The detergent is not s itable for machine washing (it sho ld bear the
definition "for washing machines" or "hand and machine wash", or the like).
 Yo sed too m ch detergent.

Before calling for Assistance:
Check whether yo can solve the problem on yo r own (see page 13);
Restart the programme to check whether the problem has been solved;
If this is not the case, contact an a thorised Technical Service Centre on the telephone n mber
provided on the g arantee certificate.
If the machine has been installed or sed incorrectly, yo may be charged for the maintenance callo t service.
Always req est the assistance of a thorised servicemen.
Notify the operator of:
 the type of problem;
 the appliance model (Mod.);
 the serial n mber (S/N).
