Before you begin
Your Iota must be charged before you can set up on your mobile device.
1. Slide the Iota into its charging dock.
2. Plug your charging cable into a USB port on your computer.
3. Insert the charging cable into the charging dock.
Installing the Iota app
You can find the Iota app on the iOS App store or Google Play store by searching for “Iota” If
you already have the Iota app installed, check for available updates to make sure you have the
latest version.
iOS pairing
Your Iota must be paired directly through the Iota App, not through the Settings app on your iOS
device.

Android pairing
Your Iota must be paired directly through the Iota App, and not through your Android device’s
Bluetooth preferences.

Using your Iota
LED indicator lights
Your Iota features a display that consists of 1 LED indicator light. The light behaves differently
depending on the operating mode:
Low battery
Charging
Updating
Battery life and power
Battery life
Your Iota comes equipped with a rechargeable lithium-polymer battery.
Under normal operating conditions, your Iota should last up to 90 days before needing a charge.
You can check the level of your battery on the Iota app.
Charging your Iota
To charge your Iota, slide the Iota into the charging dock. Plug in the USB cable to a computer
and the other end into the charging dock. Charging completely can take up to three hours.
Updating the Iota and Home Base
Iotera may release free updates for your Home Base and Iota. You will receive a message
notifying you of an imminent firmware release.
It is recommended that you keep your Iota updated. The latest feature enhancements and
product improvements are made through updates.
NOTE: Updating your Iota can take up to two minutes and requires a minimum battery level. We
recommend that you charge your Iota prior to updating, or while the update is in progress.

Do not attempt to disassemble your Home Base or Iota, it does not contain serviceable
components.
Never allow children to play with the Iota; the small components may be a choking hazard!
Built-in Battery Precautions
Do not attempt to replace your Iota's battery. It is built-in and not changeable.
Charge the battery in accordance with the instructions supplied with this guide.
Use only the charger that shipped with your product to charge the battery. Charge your
