USER MANUAL

INTRODUCTION
Jays Audio products are built with performance and durability in mind. Each product
is tested carefully with Audio Precision APX525 before shipping. Careful installation of
the product will ensure the correct performance and ensure the product is at its full
potential.

UNPACKING
The CDT is shipped with sturdy double boxes. Please keep the box should you need
to transport the unit to another location.
Carefully unpackage the CDT, place it on a stable surface, i.e. HiFi Rack. You may wish
to use the gloves provided while handling the CDT.
Peel off the transparent green tape of which was used to factory sealed the top
loading slider lid.
Slide open the top loading lid, located the protective foams inside. The protective
foams were intentionally stuck in between the CDPRO2 laser assembly space to
prevent the potentially erratic movement of the laser during transit. Remove the
protective foams completely.

QUICK START GUIDE
1. After receiving the CDT, please do not rush to power it up. First, check the physical
appearance of any damage may be caused by shipping.
2. Slide the top loading lid open and remove the protection foams completely.
3. Insert a disc, put on disc clamp, close the slider lid. The microswitch detects the
slider lid closes.
4. Plug in the power cord and turn on the rear power switch.
5. After about 3 seconds of spinning the disc, the CDT automatically enters the
power-on state, and the OLED display flashes “Reading” indicating that the disk
information is being read.
6. After the disc information is correctly retrieved, the disc information’s will be
displayed. For example, "16 64:18". At this point, the CDT is in normal operation.
7. Connects digital output to the external DAC for playback.
8. Before using the RCU, please install 2 AAA batteries in it.
TIPS
1. The CDT will work at its best quality after an hour of warming up.
2. Power On / Off
Turn on/off the power switch at the rear panel to turn on/off the unit.
It is safe to leave the power switch on 24/7
3. When not in use for a long period of time, it is recommended to switch off the
main power switch to save the earth.
4. The CDT needs about 400 hours to burn in.

FRONT PANEL

(1) POWER button --- To make the CDT to standby status or to normal operation.
When CDT is standby, a blue LED will be lit on in the centre screen.
(2) PAUSE button --- Pause CD playback.
(3) PLAY button --- Begin CD playback.
(4) STOP button --- Stop CD playback and return to idle status.
(5) PREV. button --- Play previous track.
(6) NEXT button --- Play next track.
(7) CENTRE DISPLAY --- It is a 3.12 inch OLED display module. All playback
information is displayed in this screen. This screen can be dim or turned off by
pressing the display button of the remote control unit.

(1) POWER SWITCH ---- Power On/Off the CDT unit by using the power switch. There is
no standby function.
(2) AC MAINS IEC ---- Connect the power cord to the AC Mains IEC inlet firmly. The AC
Mains is fitted with a mains fuse, rated at 1.6A, 5x20mm, Slow Blow. Replace the fuse
should the fuse blown with the spare fuse provided, or with the identical fuse rating.
Frequent fuse blown is considered a fault. Please contact us to investigate the issue
further.
(3) UP-SAMPLE ---- when in UP position, the FS output is up-sampled to 24bit / 176K. In
DOWN position, the FS is originally in 16bit / 44.1KHz

There is no industry standard of I2S connection. We could not guarantee the I2S connection
workability with your DAC. This shall not be considered as a defect should the matching
failed.

REMOTE CONTROL UNIT
The CDT3-MK3 comes with a milled solid aluminum Remote Control Unit. It is a generic
Remote Control equipped for all CDT/CDP products; hence, it is not all the buttons are
functional with the CDT3-MK3

*NOTE: Due to shipping regulation, the Remote Control was shipped without batteries. Please
insert two AAA batteries into the Remote Control battery compartment.

CONNECTIONS
The connections of power cord, interconnect cables are located at the rear panel of
the CDT. For both safety and performance, please use quality cable from reputable
suppliers. i.e. Studio Grade cable, namely, Gotham / Sommer Cable / Mogami /
Belden, etc.
OPERATION

Disc Loading
To open the CDT3-MK3 top loading door, slide the lid towards the rear of the unit
fully. The CDPRO2 assembly shall be visible, and the Disc Clamp shall be accessible.
Lift the Disc Clamp gently by holding the center part of the Disc Clamp. Place a disc to
the center of the disc holder. Place the Disc Clamp in the center of the disc and disc
holder.
The Disc Clamp is magnetic, once it is in position with the center of the CDPRO2
spinner, you should feel the grip. Please note that the Disc Clamp must be in the
correct position for the CDT to be operational.
Slide the top loading lid towards the front of the unit fully. The top loading lid limit
switch must be triggered for the CDT to be operational.
Playback
Turn on the rear power switch. After about 5 seconds of spinning the disc, the CDT
automatically enters power-on state, and the OLED display flashes “Reading”
indicating that the disk information is being read.
After the disc information is correctly retrieved, the disc information’s will be
displayed. For example, "16 64:18". At this point, the CDT is in normal operation.
Hit the Play button on the front panel to start playing the tracks.
Change Disc
It is recommended to stop playing the current disc before changing the disc. This
allow the CDPRO2 mechanism motor to stop spinning gradually. Press Stop button on
the front panel to stop playing the current disc.
Slide the top loading lid towards the rear of the unit fully. Retrieve the Disc Clamp
and Disc gently. Follow the same steps stated disc Loading above.
