INTRODUCTION
JAY’S AUDIO products are built with performance and durability in mind. Each
product is tested carefully with Audio Precision APX525 before shipping. Careful
installation of the product will ensure the correct performance and ensure the
product works at its full potential.
PACKAGE CONTENTS
1. CDT3-MK3
2. AC Mains Power Cord
3. Disc Clamp
4. Gloves
5. Remote Control Unit (without batteries)
6. Spare Fuse
UNPACKING
The CDT is shipped in double boxes. Please keep the boxes should you need to
transport the unit to another location.
Carefully unpack the CDT and place it on a stable surface, i.e. Hi-fi Rack. You may wish
to use the gloves provided while handling the CDT.
Peel off the transparent green tape which was used to seal the top loading slider lid in
the factory before shipping.
Slide open the top loading lid and you will see the protective foams inside. The
protective foams were intentionally stuck in between the CDPRO2 laser assembly
space to prevent the potentially erratic movement of the laser during transit. Remove
the protective foams completely.

QUICK START GUIDE
1. After receiving the CDT, please do not rush to power it up. First, check the physical
appearance for any damage that might be caused during shipping.
2. Slide the top loading lid open and remove the protection foams completely.
3. Insert a disc, put on the disc clamp and close the slider lid. The micro switch will
detect when the slider lid closes.
4. Plug in the power cord firmly and turn on the rear power switch.
5. After about 3 seconds of spinning the disc, the CDT automatically enters the
power-on state, and the OLED display flashes “Reading” indicating that the disk
information is being read.
6. After the disc information is correctly retrieved, the disc’s information will be
displayed. For example, "16 64:18". At this point, the CDT is in normal operation.
7. Connect digital output to the external DAC for playback.
8. Before using the RCU, please install 2 AAA batteries in it.
TIPS
1. The CDT will work at its best after an hour of warming up.
2. Power On / Off
Use the “on/off” power switch located at the rear panel to turn on or off
the unit.
It is safe to leave the power switch on 24/7
3. When not in use for a long period of time, it is recommended to switch off the
main power switch to save the earth.
4. The CDT needs about 400 hours to fully burn in.

(2) AC MAINS IEC ---- Connect the power cord to the AC Mains IEC inlet. The AC
Mains is fitted with a mains fuse, rated at 2.6A, 5x20mm, Slow Blow. If the fuse
blown, replace it with the spare fuse provided, or with the fuse of identical rating.
Frequent instances of fuse blown are considered a fault. Please contact us to
investigate the issue further.
(3) UP-SAMPLE SWITCH ---- when in the UP position, the FS output is up-sampled to
24bit / 176K. When in the DOWN position, the FS is originally in 16bit / 44.1KHz

CONNECTIONS

Disc Loading
To open the CDT3-MK3 top loading door, slide the lid fully towards the rear of the
unit. The CDPRO2 assembly shall be visible, and the Disc Clamp shall be accessible.
Lift the Disc Clamp gently by holding the center part of the Disc Clamp. Place a disc
into the center of the disc holder. Place the Disc Clamp in the center of the disc and
disc holder.
The Disc Clamp is magnetic, once it is in position with the center of the CDPRO2
spinner, you should feel the grip. Please note that the Disc Clamp must be in the
correct position for the CDT to be operational.
Slide the top loading lid fully towards the front of the unit. The limit switch of the top
loading lid must be triggered for the CDT to be operational.
Playback
Turn on the rear power switch. After about 5 seconds of spinning the disc, the CDT
automatically enters the power-on state, and the OLED display flashes “Reading”
indicating that the disk information is being read.
After the disc information is correctly retrieved, the disc’s information will be
displayed. For example, "16 64:18". At this point, the CDT is in normal operation.
Hit the “Play” button on the front panel to start playing the tracks.
Change Disc
It is recommended to stop playing the current disc before changing the disc. This
allows the CDPRO2 mechanism motor to stop spinning gradually. Press the “Stop”
button on the front panel to stop playing the current disc.
Slide the top loading lid fully towards the rear of the unit. Retrieve the Disc Clamp and
the disc gently. Follow the same steps stated in “Disc Loading” section above.
