HOWLONGCOVERAGELASTS.
Thelinnitedwarrantycoveragelastsfortwo(2)yearsfromthedateofyouroriginalretailpurchase.Forcomponentparts
andaccessories,includingfactoryinstalledelectricmotors,thelimitedwarrantycoveragelastsforone(1)yearfromthe
dateofyouroriginalretailpurchase.
WHATJOHNSONOUTDOORSWILLDO.
Ifwithinthewarranty
period,
theboatisproventoJohnsonOutdoors'reasonablesatisfactiontohavea materialdefectin
workmanshipormaterialscoveredby thiswarranty,asJohnsonOutdoors'soleandexclusiveobligationandyoursoleand
exclusiveremedy,JohnsonOutdoors
shall,
atitsoption,repairorreplacetheboatthroughanauthorizeddealer.Inorder
tobecoveredby thiswarranty,anysuchrepairmustbeperformedwithinthewarrantyperiod.
Thiswarrantycoversreplacementofpartsandlabordirectlyassociatedwiththedefectatanauthorizeddealer'sfacility
anddoesnotincludeanycostorexpenseofreturningtheboatand/orpartto/fromtheauthorizeddealer.
Allrisksassociatedwiththesedeliveryprocessesareyourresponsibility
YoumustprovidetheJohnsonOutdoorsauthorizeddealerwithwrittennoticeoftheallegeddefectwithin10daysafter
youdiscoverthedefect.Includeproofofpurchasewithyournotice.
WHATTHISWARRANTYDOESNOTCOVER.
Thiswarrantydoesnotextendtoorapplytoanyproductthatisusedforrentalorothercommercialuse,noranyboat
thathasbeensubjecttomisuse,modification,abnormaluse,abuse,damageduetoenvironmentalornaturalelements,
failuretofollowJOHNSONOUTDOORS'instructions,unauthorizedrepair,incorrectlyperformedmaintenanceor
repair,improperstorage,negligence,accidentordamageresultingfromuseofmotorsinexcessofratedhorsepower.
Inaddition,thewarrantydoesnotcoveranydamagecausedby operationoftheboatinextremeweatherandsea
conditions.Damagetothehullsand/orstructuredeterminedby JohnsonOutdoorstohavebeencausedbyeither
electrolysisorimpropertraileringoftheboatwillnotbecoveredunderthiswarranty.

It'simportanttousea true"deep-cycle"batteryinsteadof

CAUTION:
Donotsmokeorallowopenflameswhenyouareworkingnearthebatteries-thegasthatescapesbatteriesis
explosive.
"Maintenance"doesnotrefertocharging.Itreferstomaintainingtheproperamountofdistilledwaterinthebatterycellsand
ensuringthatthebatteryterminalsarekeptcleanandfreeofcorrosion.
Unlesswaterlevelswithinthesecellsaremaintainedattherecommendedlevels,permanentdamagetothebatterycanoccur.

Ifyouhavestandarddeepcyclemarinebatteries(notAGM),checkyourbatteriesatleastoncea weektoensurethatcellsare
filledtotheirproper
level.

Removetheseatcushionstogetatthebatteries.
2.Removeeachcapandvisuallycheckforthelevelofelectrolyte(liquid)ineach
cell.
3.
Ifitisbelowthebottomofthefillneck,adddistilledwatertothebottomofthefill neck.DONOTUSETAP

WELLWATER,
OR
"SPRING"
WATER.Useonlydistilledwater(availableinmostgrocerystores).
4.
Makesuretheplatesarecompletelycoveredwithsolution.Ifyouaccidentallyoverfillthecells,thesolutionwillspilloutthe

Thefollowingchecklistwillhelpmakecertainallsystemsaresafeandfunctioningbeforeleavingonyourexcursion.
1.
Unplugthebatterycharger,andsecureanyextensioncord(s).
2.Checkthebatterymonitorgaugeatthehelmbeforeturningonanyelectricalsystem.Makesurethebatteriesarefully
charged.
3.
MakesurethereareenoughPFD's (lifejackets)forallpassengers.Insistthatallchildrenandanyadultswhocannotswim
wearPFD's atalltimes.
4.
Checktheweatherandwaveconditions.TheDeckBoat(Cruz)™isnotintendedforuseinhighwavesandhighwinds.
5.Checkthemotor/ propeller.Makesuretheyareoperableandfreeofweeds,debris,fishing lineandotherobstructions.
6.Ensurea safetykitisonboard.Thissafetykit shouldcontain:extrapropellerandshearpin,extrafusesanda first aidkit.

Launching
WhentheDeckBoat(Cruz)islaunchedfroma trailer,certainprecautionsshouldbetakentopreventdamagetotheboator
motor.

timebetweenbatteryrecharges.Usehighspeedwhenyouhonestlywanttogoatmaximumspeedoraretryingtoovercome
resistancefromwindand/orcurrent.Windyconditionsofferresistancethatthemotormustovercome.Loweringthecanopy
willhelpreducewindresistanceandextendruntimes.

eyes(oneatthebow;twoatthestern)ifpossible.Otherwise,tieofftoa cleat.
Iftheboatisleftunusedformorethana day,itisa goodideatocovertheseatswiththeoptionalseatcovers.As an
alternative,youcanalsocovertheentireboatwiththemooring/storagecover.

Therearethreefloordrainsthatchannelwateroverboardfromthedeck.Twoarelocatedatthefootofthecaptain'sconsoleandone
isunderthecarpetedflooratthebow.Thereisalsoa drainineachbatterycompartment.Besuretoperiodicallycheckthesedrains
tomakesuretheyarenotblockedorcoveredwithdebris.
DECK/HULL
DRAINING
Thereisa drainplugattherearoftheboattodrainwaterthatmayaccumulatebetweenthedeckandthe
topofthe
hull.
NOTE:Watercannotaccumulateinthehullsbecausetheyarefoam
filled.
Raisingthebow(12.5°ormoreispreferred)willdrainthewater. Ifraisingthebowisnotpossible,removethe
plugwhiletheboatisfloating.Putasmuchweightatthebackoftheboataspossibletohelpdraining.
NOTE:Itisimportanttoensuredeck/hullhasbeendrained,priortowinter
storage,
to
preventcracking.
