The Free Mode profile mode is combining the advantage of
advanced control and user requirement. User is free to set the heaters
power level for each profile stage and the control drive the process safety
and heating behavior.
The real time temperature readings feed the RE-8500 control, to
drive the process within the heaters power level for each stage.
This feature is available only through RE-8500 sophisticated
controlling concept build in PID method. Beginner or Expert, RE-8500 will
drive the process to the highest efficiency levels.
Profile is only running when two thermocouples are

4-Process Profile Settings and Parameters
a. Free Mode profile
The free mode profile controlling concept is PID depends on user
settings. The control will drive the heaters according the heaters power
for each stage to reach the phase end temperature.
- Before the process running, Set the process Graph
parameters length for the graph in time, maximum
Temperature scale, temperature scaling method.
- Confirm the Safety temperature Value
- Stop the process after reaching the targeted melting
point.
- Stop the heaters any time during the process to dwell
on certain temperature or to achieve the TAL for
soldering process.
- Change the heaters powers between heating stage to
another or end dwell at any stage.
- From the main Tab select Jovy Profiles then Jovy
Profile Editor
- From Profile Editor Tab select free mode profile,
choose a name for the profile, set the profile phases
end temperature and display message after each
phase ends. Alarm set point for warning sound could
be set either.

b. Standard profile
The Standard profile designed to meet the IPC original Reflow profile
recommendation as Follow:
Preheating with slow heating ramp up not less than0 .5℃/second
Soaking with heating ramp up not more than 1.5℃/second
TAL: Time above melting point (liquidus) available in time from 1second
to 60seconds
Dark Infrared heating technology is not driven by ramp and it is sensitive
to working environment and Air flow.
The standard profile whether for Leaded or Lead free solder materials is
driven by controller PID control. The standard profile parameters only for
profile phases end temperature. Then the control will completely drive the
heaters powers to achieve each phase temperature ends.
- For each phase set the heaters power, the actual
temperature reading is the input for control to drive
the heaters according to the user setting to finish
each stage. The Control will achieve the TAL (time
on peak) according to the last stage heaters power
setting. Control might fail if user set the heaters
power level lower than 50%.
- After finish the process profile settings, profile can be
RUN, Save to PC or Save into machine memory. The
available profile number will automatically be shown.
RUN Process Profile on RE-8500
- Before the process running, Set the process Graph
parameters length for the graph in time, maximum
Temperature scale, temperature scaling method.
- Set the Automatic cooling after Process Finish
- Confirm the Safety temperature Value

bouttons(UP & Down)

chauffes (Upper, middle and side heaters)
