4. Do n't shor t between the LIVE side ground and ISOL ATED
(NEUTRAL) side ground or EARTH side ground when
repairing.
Some model's power circuit is partly different in the GND. The
diff er enc e of th e G ND is sho wn b y th e LIV E : (") side GND, the
ISO LATE D(N EUTRAL) : ( #) side G ND and EARTH : ($) side
GN D. D o n't sh or t b et we en th e LIV E si d e GN D an d

Con nect a 1 500 Ω10W resistor paralleled by a 0.15µF AC-type
cap acitor b etw e en an e xpos ed me ta l p ar t a nd a kn own g oo d
ea rt h gr o und ( wa ter p ipe, etc.) . M eas ur e t he AC vol ta ge acr oss
the resistor with the AC voltmeter. Move the resistor connection
to e ach e xpos ed met al pa rt, par ti cu l arl y an y exp ose d m eta l p ar t
h avi ng a r e tur n pa th to th e ch assi s, an d me asur e th e AC vo lt ag e
across t he res is tor . Now, re verse the plug in the AC o utlet an d
r epe at each m easu re ment . A ny vol ta ge m easu r ed m us t n ot
exce ed 0 .7 5V A C (r.m. s.) . Thi s cor r esp on ds to 3.5 mA AC
(r.m.s.).
However, in tropical are a, this must not exce ed 0.3V AC ( r.m. s.).
This corresponds to 0.2mA AC (r.m.s.).

manner as for a CRT. T his will shorten the s ervic e life of a
PD P. I n orde r t o avo i d th e b ur ning of th e scr e en, tu r n th e
display off when not neces sary. Also take such other
m easu r es as scr olli n g t he scr een an d usi ng a sc re en save r. In
ad diti on , per iod ic ally d isp lay th e br igh tn ess r e ver sal, t he
r ever sa l t o t he com ple me nt ar y col ou r or th e i ns er tion of
animated image - all these will make the display on the screen
un if or m. Since the high er br igh tn ess m ay cau se th e b ur n in g,
us ers a re r eq uest ed to us e n eut ra l colo ur s as much as
possible. Animated image will not cause the burning.

REPLACEMENT OF MEMORY ICs
1. MEMORY IC s
This TV uses me mory IC. In the me mory IC, there are memorized data
for c or rec tly op er atin g t he video an d def l ection circu i ts.
When replac in g th e mem ory IC, b e su re t o u se an IC writ ten wit h t he
initial values of data.
2. PROCEDURES FOR REPLACING MEMORY ICs
PROCEDURE
(1) Power off
Sw itch the p ow er of f an d disco nn ect t he pow e r plu g.
(2) Repla ce ICs.
Be sur e t o use a mem ory IC writt en wit h th e in it ial set ting d ata.
(3) Power on
Con nect th e p ower p lu g a nd sw itc h t he pow e r on.
(4) Check and s et SY STEM CO NSTANT SET
"The adjustment should not be done without signal.
1) Pr ess th e INFORMATI ON key and the MUT ING key of the
REMOTE CONTROL UNIT simultaneously.
2) The SERVICE MENU screen of Fig. 1 will be displayed.
3) W hile th e S ERVICE ME NU is displ a yed, p r ess t he
INFORMATIO N key and MUTING key s imult ane ou sly, an d th e
SYSTEM CONSTANT SET screen of Fig. 2 will be display ed.
4) C heck th e se tti ng va lu es of the S YST EM C ON STA NT SET of
Tab l e 1. If val u e is diff er ent, sel ec t th e sett i ng i t em with th e

FUNCTION / key.
5) Pr ess the MENU(OK) key to memorize the setting value.
