1.1 Appearance
1.2 Specifications
KB-30 is a useful auxiliary device in a complete surveillance system. It connects to VMS through LAN and
could control cameras remotely and could perform PTZ control and video wall scheduling on PTZ cameras.
KB-30 (Ver. B) supports video compression of H.264 and H.265.

Display function menu: when operating, the screen displays the operation;
display live video.
When the keyboard is powered on, the red indicator will always be on.
Under scheduling mode of the VMS, adjust focal length manually. Press [FAR]
to zoom out and [NEAR] to zoom in. When connecting to camera directly, press
[FAR] to switch to single view layout and [NEAR] to 16-view.
Under scheduling mode of the VMS, adjust aperture manually. Press [OPEN]
to increase aperture and [CLOSE] to decrease. When connecting to camera
directly, press [OPEN] to switch to 4-view layout and [CLOSE] to 32-view.
Operate to rotate the PTZ holder in any direction at different speed and rotate
the joystick to zoom in or zoom out the camera. The function of the key on the
joystick is the same as that of “ENTER”.
[Note] When operating on the joystick, do not pull or push it forcefully or
urgently. Please wait untill the PTZ holder gives response.

1.5 Configuration
To save preset positions. It needs to be used in groups. Please refer to 1.6.4.
Press [MODE] to switch between scheduling mode and direct connection to camera.
Confirm input.
When connecting to camera directly, group with number keys to display single video
source in full screen.
When connecting to camera directly, press [MULT] to switch to 20-view layout.
To display video source on video wall. Need to group with number keys. Please
refer to 1.6.1.
When connecting to camera directly, press [MON] to switch to 9-view layout.
To display video source on video wall. Need to group with number keys. Please
refer to 1.6.1.

Under scheduling mode of the VMS, the image of the video wall switches to
that of the next camera on the list.
Under scheduling mode of the VMS, the image of the video wall switches to
that of the previous camera on the list.
When connecting to camera directly, switch to next page.

To save or load preset positions. It needs to be used in groups. Please refer to

Delete input values; cancel operation.
1. Modify keyboard IP address. Search current keyboard IP address through IpConfig.exe and select the
keyboard to be edited. Click IP setting to configure IP address, subnet mask and gateway.

2. Login. Open browser on PC and enter keyboard IP address. On the popup interface, input username: admin
and password: 12345.
[Note] Support browser IE 6 and IE8.
3. Configure VMS IP address. Go to System set > Advanced option > Control device, as shown in Picture 7.
Fill parameters according to the actual setting and click “Save”.

Display on Video Wall (Schedule onto video wall)
IP Addr.: Input VMS IP address
Port Num: COM port for displaying video on wall, default 1026
Stream Path (When scheduling onto video wall, the keyboard previews synchronously the last
image on the video wall at local.)
IP Addr.: Input VMS IP address
Port Num: Local preview COM port of the keyboard, default 554.
First use: TCP-sps.

[Note] After configuring Stream Path, when the video source is displayed on video wall, the keyboard can also
browse the video on its screen locally. KB-30(Ver.B) supports H.264 and H.265 video compression
for local view.

1.6.1 Display Video Source on Video Wall
Use keyboard to display video source on video wall. Then perform PTZ operations, preset position setting and
loading.
Go to video wall setting interface on CU, or view keyboard operation effect on the video wall directly.
1. Press number key > [MON] to specify a window; press number key > [CAM] to specify a camera. For
example, press 3 >[MON] > [4] > [CAM] to view image of Camera 4 on the 3rd monitor of the video wall.
2. On the scheduling interface, select the camera on video wall (number key > [MON]) and press [BWD] to
switch the video wall image to that of the previous camera on the video source list; press [FWD] to switch the
video wall image to that of the next camera on the video source list. For example, if current video wall monitor
displays the image of video source 3, press [BWD] to switch to image of video source 2 and [FWD] to that of
video source 4. You can press repeatedly for continuous switch.

1.6 Main Functions
After networking and setting the keyboard, it can realize functions such as displaying video source and scheme
on video wall, PTZ operations on camera, preset position setting and loading.
1.6.2 Load Scheme on Video Wall
Use keyboard to load scheme on video wall. Operations: press number key > [EVENT], the number
representing scheme number which can be viewed on NKM. For example, press 3 > [EVENT] to load scheme 3
1.6.3 PTZ Operations
On scheduling interface, select the camera (number key> [MON]) on the video wall and perform PTZ
operations on the camera.
[Note] If the camera has not been displayed on the video wall, display its video on the video wall first. Please
refer to 1.6.1 for detailed steps.
Direction: Push the joystick;
Field of view: Rotate the joystick;
Aperture: Set aperture manually, press [OPEN] to increase aperture and press [CLOSE] to decrease aperture;
Focal length: Focus manually, press [FAR] to zoom out and press [NEAR] to zoom in.
1.6.4 Save Preset Position
The preset positions record the position and zooming (field of view) of PTZ cameras.
On the scheduling interface, select the camera (number key> [MON]) on the video wall, adjust it to the

Saving the usual camera positions and zooming (field of view) as preset positions can facilitate loading and
viewing them.
Operation steps: on the scheduling interface, select the camera (number key> [MON]) on the video wall, press
number key and [PRESET] to load preset positions.
