Introduction
Thank you for buying the Gembird® Multimedia keyboard! This manual will help you install
and use it properly. KB-2000M is a Multimedia keyboard with PS/2 interface with the
following main features:
o18 hot keys for the Multimedia and Internet functions
oErgonomic wrist rest

Keyboard installation
•Before installing the Hot Keys 6.12 dri er, please check to see if there are any
other keyboard dri ers already installed on your system. All other keyboard
dri ers must be uninstalled before installing the Hot Keys 6.12 dri er.
•Please insert the enclosed CD into the CD dri e.
•Click on "My Computer"
•Click on "CD Drive"
•Click on the executable file "Setup.exe"
•Follow the instruction on the screen to complete the installation
Note: After installing the Hot Keys 6.12 dri er, you need to restart your computer to enable
the software.
Un-installation
To un-install the Hot Keys 6.12, go to
START/PROGRAM FILE/HOT KEYS
, select "Uninstall"
to remo e the Hot Keys 6.12 dri er. The system will un-install the Multimedia Keyboard
dri er automatically.

The Multimedia keyboard has 18 hotkeys.
BACK : Go back to the pre ious web page
FORWARD : Go to the next web page
STOP : Stop default web browser from loading or refreshing a web page
REFRESH : Update the contents of the current web page of the default web
browser
SEARCH : Open the "Find "window in the START menu
FAVORITES : Open the "Fa orites" group
WEB/HOME : Start your default browser and go immediately to your Home
Web page
MAIL : Start the default E-mail program
PLAY/PAUSE : Play or pause the default media player
STOP : Stops the media
PREVIOUS TRACK : Go to the pre ious track of the default media
player
NEXT TRACK : Go to the next track of the default media player
MEDIA : Start the music CD player or Microsoft Windows Media Player

VOLUME DOWN : Press and release, or press and hold to decrease the
olume
VOLUME UP : Press and release, or press and hold to increase the
olume
MUTE : Stops all audio. Press again to resume audio
CALCULATOR : Start the "CALCULATOR" program
MY COMPUTER : Open the "My Computer" window
SLEEP : User can put the system into sleep mode, if the PC supports power
management. If the power management is not enabled, this key will not work
WAKE UP : Exit sleep mode, and return to normal mode
Note: Most hot keys may be re-configured to start other applications or Web pages. Please
refer to "How To Redefine The Hot Keys" for more details.

How To Redefine The Hot eys
First, you will need to install the Hot Keys 6.12 dri er, see the section Keyboard
installation abo e.
Once installed, you will see a Keyboard icon at the bottom right of your screen. This
icon will appear e ery time you start the computer.
The Hot Keys are already set up once you ha e installed the dri er. If you want to re-define
the Hot Keys, you ha e to click on the Keyboard icon at the bottom right of your
screen.
The Keyboard properties window will open. Go to the Hot Keys section. You will see the
following screen with 18 Buttons, just like the buttons on your keyboard.

Whene er you’d like to re-define the Hot Keys just click on the Button, then go to Custom,
and click on the Select button. Now go to the Browse File and find the executable file you
would like to associate with your Hot Key. When finished, click on the OK button then click
Apply. The Hot Key is now programmed and the keyboard properties' window can be closed.
