Navigation
System.

KNA-NT100 Overview
The
KNA-NTI
00
has
two
cable
connectors
that
allow
it
to
be
installed
in
series
between
the
antenna
and
Kenwood
unit.
Do
not
open
the
KNA-NTIOO
or
loosen
the
case
screws.

Displays
the
signal
status.
Mini-USB
cable:
1.5-meter
built-in

to
a
Kenwood
unit.

Do
not
install
the
KNA-NTIOO
where
it
will
be
exposed
to
direct
sunlight,
excessive
heat
or
humidity,
dust,
spills,
or
liquids.
Carefully
read
this
installation
sheet
and
follow
the
instructions
to
install
the
KNA-NTIOO
in
the
vehicle.
Do
not
open
the
KNA-NTIOO
or
loosen
the
case
screws.

Connecting
the
Mini-USB
Cable
to
a
Kenwood
Unit
(DNX
series)
1.
Attach
the
cable
clamp
to
the
back
of
the
Kenwood
unit.
2.
Thread
the
mini-USB
cable
through
the
clamp.
Close
the
clamp.
3.
Connect
the
mini-USB
cable
to
the
mini-USB
port
on
the
back
of
the
Kenwood
unit.

Connection
Connect
the
mini-USB
cable
(1.5
meters)
to
the
mini-USB
port
on
the
Kenwood
unit.

1.
Open
the
lid
cover
on
the
KNA-G610.
2.
Connect
the
mini-USB
cable
to
the
mini-USB
port.
3.
Route
the
mini-USB
cable
through
the
unit
as
shown
in
the
diagram
and
close
the
lid
cover.
Connect
the
mini-USB
cable
(1.5
meters)
to
the
mini-USB
port
on
the
Kenwood
unit.

Connecting
the
Cables
The
KNA-NTIOO
connects
in
series
between
the
antenna
and
Kenwood
unit.
1.
Connect
the
antenna
plug
to
the
female
(receptacle)
adapter
cable.
Connect
the
Fakra
plug
to
the
In
connector
on
the
KNA-NT1
00.
The
Fakra
plug
locks
firmly
in
place.

Connect
the
Fakra
connector
of
the
adapter
cable
to
the
Out
connector
of
the
KNA-NT100.
Connect
the
male
(plug)
adapter
cable
into
the
Kenwood
unit
receptacle,
as
shown
below.

Test
the
KNA-NT100
Test
the
KNA-NTl
00
for
proper
installation
and
service
reception.
Connect
the
mini-USB
connector
to
the
Kenwood
unit.
•Observe
the
LED:
Turn
on
the
Kenwood
Navigation
System.
Service
reception
is
indicated
by
the
solid
green
light,
which
may
take
up
to
five
minutes
to
appear
for
initial
data
acquisition.

dot-dash
flashes:
waiting
for
initial
country
code,
automatically
supplied
by
the
Kenwood
unit.
Yellow
fast
flashes:
searching
table
for
active
entry
.
Red/Green
flashes:
scanning
for
new
FM
stations
.
Red
solid
light:
momentary
sync
loss
.
Green
solid
light:
normal
traffic
data
flow.
The
KNA-NT100
must
be
in
an
area
of
service
and
be
receiving
adequate
signals
to
display
a
solid
green
light.
•
Verify
Signal
Strength: If
you
are
inside
a
building
where
radio
signals
cannot
be
received,
you
may
need
to
take
the
vehicle
outside
for
testing.
•
Verify
that
you
are
in
a
service
area:
To
view
service
areas,
go
to
the
Garmin
Web
site
at
www.garmin
.com/fmtraffic.
•
Check
the
Map:
Turn
on
the
Kenwood
Navigation
System
and
access
a
map.
Check
for
traffic
alerts
and
symbols
on
the
map.
It
may
be
easiest
to
browse
the
map
ofa
roadway
or
intersection
under
construction
or
that
is
known
to
have
frequent
traffic
hazards.
If
possible,
refer
to
the
Instruction
Manual
for
your
Kenwood
Navigation
System.
If
the
above
tests
fail,
either
you
are
not
in
a
service
area
or
the
installation
was
possibly
faulty.
Mount
the
KNA-NT100
If
possible,
place
the
KNA-NTlOO
where
the
LED
can
be
seen
without
dismantling
the
dashboard.
1.
Mount
the
KNA-NT100:
•
Attach
with
foam
tape:
clean
and
dry
a
flat
surface
behind
the
dashboard.
Remove
the
backing
from
the
foam
tape
and
attach
the
KNA-NT100
to
the
flat
surface.
•
Hang
freely:
bind
up
any
slack
cable
from
the
mini-USB
cable
with
a
wire
tie
and
let
the
KNA-NT100
hang
freely
behind
the
Kenwood
unit.
2.
Check
that
all
cables
and
the
KNA-NT1
00
are
secure
and
free
of
obstruction.
3.
Replace
all
parts
of
the
dashboard
to
their
original
locations.
