OPERATING THE SCREWDOWN CROWN
The crown screws on and off like a bottle cap. Please be careful
to unscrew it all the way before pulling the crown to the 2nd or
3rd positions. After setting the watch, the crown should always
be screwed back on and locked in order to keep the movement
protected from all exterior elements.

WHAT IS AN AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT?
An automatic watch, is a type of mechanical watch. These
watches do not use an internal battery and instead uses the
natural motion of the wearer to provide energy to run the watch
(making manual winding unnecessary).
Once fully “charged”, your 1983 XL has a typical power reserve
of around 40 hours. If you stop wearing your watch, you may
notice that it has stopped running after a certain length of time.
Don’t be alarmed, you simply need to energize your watch.

AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL WINDING
The 1983 XL Pilot is capable of both automatic and manual
winding. The self-winding mechanism allows the watch to be
wound simply by being worn during daily activities.
To manually wind the watch, unscrew the crown until it pops into
the first position (do not pull the crown). Once in position 1, the
movement can be wound by turning the crown clockwise.
If the watch has stopped after having been left unworn, it should
always receive a dozen crown winds before being worn again.
To fully wind the watch, turn the crown clockwise a total of 40
times.
Once you have finished winding the watch, make sure to screw
the crown back into the locked position.

SETTING DATE/TIME
1.1 To set the date, fully unscrew the crown into position 1, then
gently pull it out to the position 2.
1.2 Turn the crown counter-clockwise to change the date. *Do not
set the date between 9PM and 4AM otherwise the date might not
change at the correct time.
1.3 To set the time, gently pull the crown to the position 3. Turn the
crown clockwise to adjust the hour / minute hands to the desired
time. Pay attention to the 24-hour dial in order to set the time to
the correct AM/PM setting.
1.4 Push the crown back in to the normal resting position and then
screw it back down to the locked position.

in materials and workmanship for a period of One (1) year after
original purchase from Kingsbury Watch Co.
This means that if the components or materials of your watch
have any issues, or if the watch isn’t functioning correctly, we’ll
repair or replace it (at our discretion). We don’t cover normal
wear and tear, broken or damaged crystal, watch case, strap,
bracelet and loss or theft. You will void your warranty if you open
the caseback, or forget to screw down or push in the crown and
expose the internal components of your watch to moisture.
Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims and service
requests. Kingsbury will not accept a warranty claim or repair
request if a watch has evidence of excessive wear or misuse.
