OVERVIEW

Install the Kogan Mesh App
Download the Kogan Mesh App on your mobile device by searching for “Kogan Mesh” in
App Store or Google Play or by scanning the OR code. Then, install the App.
INSTALLATION

Connect the Primary node:
The first node you set up functions as the primary node, while the rest are referred to as the
secondary nodes.
1. Power off your modem and remove its battery (if any).
2. Use the included Ethernet cable to connect to a LAN port on your modem to the
WAN/LAN port on one of the nodes. This node will be your primary node.
3. Reinstall its battery and power on your modem.
4. Use the included power adapter to connect the primary node to a power source,
the LED indicator lights solid purple.

Connect the primary node to the internet
1. Go to the Wi-Fi network list on your mobile device, select the SSID of the primary
node and enter its password. The SSID and password are specified on the bottom
label of any node.
2. Run the Kogan Mesh App and follow the onscreen instructions to connect the
primary node to the internet. After the primary node is connected to the internet,
its LED indicator lights solid blue.

Connect the secondary nodes to the internet
1. Place each node:
• In a high and open area.
• Ensure that there are less than two walls between any two nodes.
• Keep your nodes away from electronics with strong interference, such as microwave
ovens, induction cookers and refrigerators.
2. Use other power adapters to connect the secondary nodes to a power outlet, the LED
indicators will turn solid green. Wait for about 40 seconds. The secondary node is
connecting to another node when its LED indicator flashes blue.
3. Observe the LED indicator of the secondary nodes until their LED indicators are one of
the following colours:
Solid Blue
Internet is connected
Slowly flashing Red
Disconnected
4. If a node's LED indicator does not light solid blue, you can relocate it ensuring you avoid
obstructions and any electronic interference.
To access the internet:
• Wired devices: Connect wired devices to the LAN ports of your nodes.
• Wireless devices: Connect wireless devices to the Wi-Fi network using the SSID and Wi-
Fi password you set.
• To manage the network anytime anywhere, tap “ ” icon in the app and use your
account to login.

After completing the setup and installation using the Kogan Mesh App, a login prompt
page appears. You can authorize the Kogan Mesh App to use Google+, alternatively press
the “Other” button to create a login using your email address.
REGISTERING

If you miss the page above, tap on the upper-left corner and tap Login. Then choose
one type of account to login.
To Register an account
1. Run the Kogan Mesh App and tap in the upper-right corner.
2. Tap Login.
3. Tap Register on the upper-right corner.
4. Enter a valid email address.
5. Create a password for your account.
6. Tap Register.
A confirmation email will be sent to your email inbox. Check your email and follow the
instruction to activate your account. After following these guided steps, your account will be
registered successfully.


This whole home mesh Wi-Fi system supports the Kogan Mesh App for local and remote
management. You can choose either of them as needed.
Local Management
Local management indicates that you can use the Kogan Mesh App to manage your
network after connecting your smart phone to the Wi-Fi network.
Procedure:
1. Connect your smart phone to the Wi-Fi network of your nodes.
2. Run the App on the smart phone and then you can use the App to manage your
network.
Remote Management
Remote management indicates that you can use the Kogan Mesh App to manage your
network anytime, anywhere.
Prerequisites of remote management:
• Your nodes connect to the internet successfully.
• Log in with the authorized account.
Procedure of remote management:
1. Connect your smart phone to the internet by connecting it to a Wi-Fi network
nearby or enabling your mobile data.
2. Run the Kogan Mesh App on the smart phone.
3. Tap on the upper-left corner.
4. Use your account to log in and then you can manage your network remotely.
MANAGEMENT TYPE
Notes:
• If you want to use other accounts to manage your network, you can authorize
these accounts after login with the administrator account.
• Only the administrator account can authorize other accounts to manage the nova
network.

After completing the internet settings, you can view the status of your nodes, real-time
upload/download speed and connected devices and manage your network.

To check or manage your nodes
Tap the Wi-Fi name in the upper-right corner to enter the following page.
All nodes in a network share the same Wi-Fi name.
To view details of the internet settings
Tap the icon on the home page of the App.
Tap here to add

To view details of the nodes
Tap the one of the node icons on the home page of the App to see details of the
corresponding node.
Choose this to delete
the node from your Wi-Fi
network.

information about the
node.

To view the connected devices
Tap the icon on the home page of the App. If you want to check the details of a
device or manage more closely, choose the device.
This indicates the frequency
band of the Wi-Fi network the

device connects to the
Wi-Fi network.
Choose this to remove
connected devices
from the blacklist.

Choose this to rename the device,
such as “Jack’s iPhone”.
Choose this to create a group or add
the connected device to a group for
the parental control function.
Choose this to check the details of
the connected device.
Choose this to blacklist the device. The
devices in the blacklist cannot access
the internet via the nova network.

Tap the icon in the upper-left corner of the home page (My Wi-Fi) page to enter the
following page.

Choose this to clear
the cache for better
performance.

In this section, you can change the Wi-Fi name and password of your network.
To change your Wi-Fi name and password
1. Choose Settings >Wireless Settings to enter the configuration page.
2. Change the Wi-Fi name and password as required.
3. Tap Save.

Tap here to share the Wi-Fi

The Guest Network function allows you to create a separate network for your guests to
secure the main network.
Procedure:
4. Choose Settings >Guest Network to enter the configuration page.
5. Set the button to the enabled state .
6. Change the Wi-Fi name, password and validity period as required.
7. Tap Save.

The Parental Control function allows you to create a healthy time session for internet
access for your family members.
Procedure:
1. Choose Setting >Parental Control to enter the configuration page.
2. Create a group.
• Tap Add Group.
• Enter a group name, which is Family in this example and tap Next.
• Select the devices to be added into the group.
• Tap Complete.
PARENTAL CONTROL
Note:
For security, the group name for parental control cannot be modified after the group is
created. If you want to modify a group name, you can delete the group and create one
again.
