Introduction
The KA55 features a 3-speed fan and automatic timer that can
be programmed for 0.5 to 8 hours. The automatic louver swing
function provides directional control and the remote control
provides convenience. (2 x AAA batteries not included). KA55
also features a low water warning system that shuts off pump
when water level is below minimum to give you peace of mind.

12. The unit should run on 120V 60Hz AC only.
13. Do not cover unit air inlet or air outlet openings.
14. This product is not intended for use in wet or damp
locations.
15. When not in use, drain the water from the tank and store
the unit in a dry location.
16. Do not run power cord under carpeting or cover with rugs
or runners. Arrange the cord away from areas where it
may be tripped over.
17. Do not use the unit with an extension cable.
18. Do notinsert or allowobjectsto enter theairoutlet opening,
as this may cause damage to the blower and may void the
warranty.
19. Use only fresh water to fill the water tank. Use of air
fresheners or cleaners is not recommended as it may
damage the unit and void the warranty.
20. Drain the tank once every week to reduce calcium
saturation.
21. Do not use this appliance with any solid-state speed control
device.
22. If the unit is damaged or malfunctioning, discontinue
operation and refer to the trouble-shooting section and/
or contact a service technician via 1-800-695-2942. Basic
safety precautions should always be followed when using
any electrical appliance.

POWER
1. Connect the power cord to a power outlet. The POWER button
willlightup inredwith audiblesoundindicating powersource
is connected. The unit is in standby mode.
2. Press the POWER button to turn the unit on. To turn off the
unit, press the POWER button again. When the power button
is pressed, blue LCD display and the SPEED button will light
up and cooler will start in fan mode at a medium speed then
drop to low speed setting
SPEED
Press the SPEED button to select the desired fan speed. The
selected fan speed will be shown on the display.

COOL
To use the unit as an evaporative cooler, press the COOL button,
th p mp will turn on and distribute water to wet out cellulose
cooling pad located in the rear of the unit. The COOL button
will light up and COOL symbol will appear in the display. After
approximately three minutes, as the pad becomes saturated,
the air from the outlet should be cool.
LOW WATER ALARM FUNCTION
The KA55 is equipped with a low water alarm sensor. When water
in the tank is below minimum level, LOW WATER ALARM function
is activated. When the function is activated, audible warning will
sound for 10 seconds and the COOL button and the LOW WATER
icon in the display will continuously flash. At the same time, the
power to the pump will be cut off to protect the life of the pump.
In order to disengage the function, turn off and unplug the unit
from the power outlet, and fill the tank with water above the
minimum level. In order to turn off the alarm function and
continue to use it in FAN mode, turn off the unit and turn the
unit back on. If COOL button is pressed again without filling the
tank with water, low water alarm will engage again.
TIMER
The KA55 comes with an 8-hour timer. To set, press TIMER button
to the desired operation time. TIMER button is illuminated and
the remaining operational time is shown on the display. When the
pre-selected time has passed, the unit will automatically shut off.
SWING
Press the SWING button to direct the air stream. The louvers will
begin to move automatically from side to side. When the SWING
button is pressed, the button will illuminate and the SWING icon
will appear in the display.
UP-DOWN AIR FLOW
To adjust the vertical direction of air flow, adjust the horizontal
outlet louvers manually.
SLEEP
When the SLEEP button is pressed, the fan speed will remain/
change to HIGH and run for 1 hour, MEDIUM speed for 1 hour
and will change to LOW speed and remain. When the SLEEP
button is pressed, the button will illuminate and the SLEEP
symbol will appear in the display.

Filling the Tank with Water
The water fill door is located on the side of the unit Open the
water fill door and pour water carefully into the tank. Pay
attention to the water level indicator located on the tank to
avoid overfil ing. The capac ty of the water tank is 8 gallons.
When used at maximum cooling, a full tank lasts 7 to 9 hours
depending on the local humidity and temperature.
Draining the Tank
Move the unit to a location where water can be disposed of
safely. Unscrew the drain plug to drain water from the tank.
Once completely drained, replace the drain plug. The unit is
ready to be filled with fresh water.
Adjusting Humidity Level at the Outlet
The unit is equipped with a water flow regulator. Adjust humidity
and cooling level of the air coming out of the vent by turning
the regulator from MIN to MAX. MAX will allow for full flow of
water to the cooling pad and provide the maximum cooling.


Cleaning: Dampen a clean cloth with water and use it on the
exterior of the unit to emove any dust or dirt. Never use harsh
detergents, solvents, and corrosive cleaners to clean the unit.
When not in use, drain the water tank and store the unit in an
area where it is dry and out of sunlight.
Maintenance: Regular draining, at least once each week,
will decrease the water minera bu ld up and extend the life of
the pad. A damp cloth can be used to remove calcium build-up
inside and outside of the unit. When operating the unit, turn off
pump pressing the COOL button until indicator light goes off,
to dry out the pad before shutting off. The inside of the water
tank can be cleaned once or twice in a season to maintain air
quality.
Deep Clean: The KA55 comes with an easily removable water
tank. Make sure the unit is unplugged from the power outlet.
Unclip the water tank locking clips on both sides. Lift up the
body of the unit and lay it gently on the floor. Be cautious of
the pump swing arm and make sure the pump swing arm folds
horizontally. Clean the tank with water and soft cloth. You may
use mild soap or detergent.
Removing the Cooling Pad: Remove the screws holding
the rear grille assembly and remove the assembly. Unsnap
both ends of the cooling pad retainer bars (2) and remove the
cooling pad. Using water and soft brush clean the cooling pad
of debris, dirt and mineral build ups. Be sure to clean the top of
the cooling pad. Do not use any cleaning agent.


1-Year Limited Warranty
KuulAire™ portable evaporative cooling units by
Port-A-Cool, LLC, Center, Texas
For one year from date of installation, Port-A-Cool, LLC,
warrants any original component part or parts of the KuulAire™
evaporativeunitfound,uponexaminationbyfactoryauthorized
personnel, to be defective in material or workmanship. Due to
warranty limits placed on our component parts by the original
manufacturers, our warranty is limited on manufactured units
and their original component parts, as well as replacement parts
to a total of one (1) year after the date of installation.
If said equipment develops such defects within this period, it will
be repaired or replaced at our option. For breach of any implied
or written warranty on this product, Port-A-Cool, LLC, shall not
be liable for any incidental or consequential damages.
This warranty is declared void if the equipment is found to
have been misused, abused or tampered with by unauthorized
personnel. Do not use cooler cleaners, cooler treatments, or
other additives in this portable evaporative cooler. The use of
any of these products will void your warranty and may impair
the life of your evaporative cooler.
All transportation charges on parts submitted for replacement
or repair under this warranty must be borne by the purchaser.
To obtain service under this warranty, contact the dealer where
you purchased your evaporative cooler. As a final step, if you
cannot locate your dealer, please contact customer service at

20. Cambie el agua por lo menos una vez por semana para
prevenir saturación de calcio.
21. No opere esta unidad con cualquier aparato de control de
velocidad.
22. Si esta unidad está dañada o no funciona bien, detenga
su operación y refiérase a la sección de “Problemas
y Soluciones” o comuníquese al centro de servicio a

SISTEMA DE ALARMA DE BAJO NIVEL DE AGUA
El enfriador KA55 cuenta con sensor de bajo nivel de agua.
Cuando el nivel del agua en el tanque está bajo lo mínimo
requerido para función optima, escuchará serie de “beeps”
por diez segundos y los botones COOL y el icono LOW WATER
(agua ba a) empezarán a prender y a apagarse continuamente.
Al mismo tiempo la corriente a la bomba de agua se cortará
automáticamente para proteger la vida de la bomba. Para
desactivar esta función apague y desenchufe la unidad. Para
apagar la función de la alarma y continuar usando la unidad
como ventilador, apague la unidad y enciéndala de nuevo. Si
presiona COOL de nuevo antes de llenar el tanque la alarma
empezará a sonar de nuevo.
TIMER
El enfriador KA55 cuenta con un timer de 8 horas para
apagado automático. Programar, presione el botón TIMER hasta
seleccionar el tiempo de operación que desea. Se iluminara el
botón TIMER y el tiempo de operación que permanece será
indicado en el panel de control. Cuando el tiempo seleccionado
pase, el aparato se apagara automáticamente.
SWING
Presione el botón SWING para el movimiento oscilatorio del
aire de derecha a izquierda. Las rejillas empezaran a moverse
automáticamente. La luz de indicación LED se encenderá.
FLUJO DE AIRE PARA ARRIBA Y ABAJO
Para ajustar la dirección vertical del aire, ajuste manualmente
las rejillas horizontales ubicadas atrás de las rejillas frontales.
SLEEP
Cuando el botón SLEEP está presionado la velocidad del
ventilado permanecerá / cambiara a HIGH (alta) por 1 hora,
MEDIUM (media) por 1 hora y cambiara a LOW (baja) velocidad
y permanecerá. Cuando el botón SLEEP esta presionando, el
botón se iluminara y el icono SLEEP aparecerá en la pantalla
de control.
POWER
1. Enchufe el ab e. El botón P WER se encende á on un
sonido el cual indicara que el aparato está enchufado. El
aparato estará en Standy
2. Presione el botón POWER para encender la unidad, presione
nuevamente e botón y se apaga á la u dad Cuando l
botón POWER está p esionado, el icono Power LED azul
y el botón SPEED se encenderán. El enfriador empezará
en la función de ventilador en velocidad media y bajará
automáticamente a velocidad baja.
SPEED
Presione el botón SPEED para seleccionar la velocidad del
ventilador. La velocidad seleccionada será mostrada en el panel
de control.
LOW - Velocidad Baja
MEDIUM - Velocidad Media
HIGH - Velocidad Alta
COOL
Para usar la unidad como enfriador evaporativo, presione el
bot COOL, la bomba se encenderá y distribuirá el agua por el
filtro ubicado en el lado posterior la unidad La luz de indicación
COOL se encenderá en el panel Después de aproximadamente
tres minutos, después de la saturación de agua en el filtro,
empezará a enfriar.

CONTROL REMOTO
Llenado el Tanque
La puerta del tanque está ubicada a un lado de la unidad Abra
la puerta y llene cuidadosamente el tanque. Ponga atención al
indicador del nivel de agua para evitar sobre-llenar la unidad.
La capacidad del tanque son 8 galones 30 litros. Un tanque
debería du ar de 7 a 9 horas cuando se opera para máximo
enfriamiento, dependiendo de la temperatura y humedad
ambiente.
Drenaje del Tanque
Coloque la unidad donde se pueda drenar el agua seguramente.
Desatornille el tapón de drenaje para que salga el agua. Cuando
esté totalmente vacío, coloque el tapón nuevamente. La unidad
estará lista para llenarse nuevamente de agua fresca.
Ajuste del Nivel de Humedad en la Salida de Aire
El aparato cuenta con regulador del flujo del aire. Para ajustar
el nivel de humedad y enfriamiento del aire que sale con ajustar
el regulador de MIN (mínimo) a MAX (máximo). MAX permitirá
el flujo máximo de agua al filtro y proveerá enfriamiento
máximo.

LIMPIEZA Y MANTENIMIENTO
Limpieza: Humedezca un paño limpio con agua y utilícelo en
el exterior de la unidad para quitar cualquier polvo o suciedad.
Nunca utilice detergentes ásperos, solventes o limpiadores
corrosivos para limpiar la unidad. Apague la unidad,
desenchúfela, drene la reserva de agua y almacene la unidad
en un área seca y fuera de luz del sol.
Mantenimiento: Drene la unidad una vez por semana, esto
disminuye la acumulación de sarro y prolonga la vida del filtro.
Un paño húmedo se puede utilizar para quitar la acumulación
del calcio interior y exterior la unidad. Cuando opere la
unidad, presione el botón “COOL” hasta que se apague la luz
de indicación para secar el filtro. El filtro del polvo se puede
quitar fácilmente y se puede limpiar semanalmente. El interior
del tanque de agua se puede limpiar una o dos veces durante la
temporada para mantener la buena calidad del aire.
Limpieza Profunda
Remover el Tanque de Agua: El KA55 cuenta con un tanque
de agua que es fácil de remover. Asegúrese que la unidad esté
desenchufada. Quite los seguros del tanque de ambos lados.
Levante la unidad y colóquela suavemente en el piso. Tenga
cuidado con el brazo del la bomba y asegure que el brazo se
doble horizontalmente. Limpie el tanque con agua y un paño.
Puede utilizar jabón o detergente ligero.
Remover el Filtro: Quite los tornillos que sostienen el
panel de la rejilla trasera. Quite el montaje del panel trasero.
Despegue las dos (2) barras que detienen el filtro y remuévalo.
Utilizando un cepillo limpie la estructura del filtro de saturación
de calcio y tierra. Asegúrese de limpiar la parte superior del
filtro. No use detergentes o jabón.


Enfriadores portátiles KuulAire™ de Port-A-Cool, LLC, Center,
Texas.
Port-A-Cool, LLC, garantizara los componentes originales y
refacciones del enfriador KuulAire™ por un año a partir de
la fecha de compra, en el caso que el modelo se encuentre
defectuoso por causa de materiales o mano de obra, con
verificación por personal autorizado por la fábrica.
Por causa de la vigencia de garantías en los componentes
originales por parte sus fabricantes, nuestra garantía está
limitada,tantoenlasunidadesfabricadascomosuscomponentes
originales, así como en refacciones por un (1) año a partir de la
fecha de instalación.
En el caso que el equipo desarrolle tales defectos dentro del
término de la garantía, será reparado o substituido a la opción
de Port-A-Cool, LLC. La violación implícita o escrita de esta o
cualquier otra garantía, deja a Port-A-Cool, LLC sin obligaciones
por daños fortuitos o consecuentes.
Esta garantía se invalidará en el caso que el producto haya sido
utilizado en condiciones distintas a las normales, si el producto
no ha sido operado conforme a las recomendaciones en este
instructivo o si el producto se ha tratado de repara parcial o
totalmente por personal no autorizado por la fábrica. No use
productos para limpiar enfriadores, tratamientos para coolers
o agregue cualquier químico al enfriador. El uso de estos
productos invalidará la garantía y podría acortar la vida útil
del enfriador.
El costo de transporte de refacciones enviadas para reparación
bajo esta garantía, será cubierto por el comprador.

1. Brancher le cordon à une prise de courant. Le bouton POWER
s’allume en rouge et émet un son pour indiquer que la source
d’alimentation est branchée. L’unité est en mode veille.
2. Appuyer sur le bo ton POWER pour mettre l’unité en marche.
Pour mettre l’unité hors fonction, appuyer à nouveau sur
le bouton POWER. Lorsque le bouton POWER est enfoncé,
l’affichage DEL bleue et le bouton SPEED s’allument et le
refroidisseurse meten mode ventilateurà unevitesse moyenne
puis sa vitesse passe à un réglage de vitesse inférieure.
VITESSE
Appuyer sur le bouton SPEED pour sélectionner la vitesse de
ventilateur. La vitesse de ventilateur sélectionnée sera indiquée
sur l’affichage

Po tiliser l’unité comme refroidisseur à évaporation, appuyer
sur le bouton COOL; la pompe se mettra en marche et l’eau sera
distribuée pour mouiller le panneau refroidisseur de cellulose situé
à l’arrière de l’unité Le bouton COOL s’allume et le symbole COOL
apparaît sur l’affichage. Après approximativement trois minutes,
le panneau devenant saturé, l’air provenant de la bouche de sortie
devrait être frais
FONCTION D’AVERTISSEMENT DE BAS NIVEAU
D’EAU
Le modèle KA55 est équipé d’un capteur d’avertissement de bas
niveau d’eau. Lorsque l’eau dans le réservoir est sous le niveau
minimum, la fonction LOW WATER ALARM est activée. Lorsque la
fonction est activée, un avertissement sonore est émis pendant 10
secondes et le bouton COOL et l’icône LOW WATER de l’affichage
clignotent continuellement. Au même moment, l’alimentation à la
pompe est coupée pour protéger la durée de vie de la pompe. Afin
de débrayer la fonction, éteindre l’unité et la débrancher de la prise
de courant, et remplir le réservoir d’eau jusqu’à un peu plus que
le niveau minimum. Pour arrêter la fonction d’alarme et continuer
l’utilisation en mode FAN, éteindre l’unité et la rallumer. Si le
bouton COOL est appuyé à nouveau sans avoir rempli le réservoir
d’eau, l’alarme de bas niveau d’eau sera encore déclenchée.
TIMER (Minuterie)
L’unité est dotée d’une minuterie limitée à 8 heures. Pour la régler,
appuyer sur le bouton TIMER jusqu’au temps de fonctionnement
désiré. Le bouton TIMER est allumé et le temps de fonctionnement
qui reste est indiqué sur l’affichage. Lorsque la période de temps
choisie s’est écoulée, l’unité s’éteint automatiquement.
SWING
Appuyer sur le bouton SWING pour diriger le flux d’air. Les
déflecteurs vont commencer à se déplacer automatiquement d’un
côté à l’autre. Lorsque le bouton SWING est enfoncé, il s’allume et
l’icône SWING apparaît sur l’affichage.

SLEEP (Sommeil)
Lorsque le bouton SLEEP est appuyé, la vitesse du ventilateur reste
la même ou passe à HIGH (vitesse élevée) et fonctionne pendant
1 heure, à MEDIUM (vitesse moyenne) pendant 1 heure et à LOW
(basse vitesse) et reste ainsi. Lorsque le bouton SLEEP est enfoncé,
il s’allume et l’icône SLEEP apparaît sur l’affichage.

Remplissage du Réservoir
Le volet de remplissage est situé sur le côté de l’unité. Ouvrir le
voletderemplissage en eauetverser avec précautionl’eaudans
le réservoir. Porter attention à l’indicateur de niveau d’eau situé
sur le réservoir pour éviter de mettre trop d’eau. La capacité du
réservoir est de 30 litres. Lors d’une utilisation au maximum
de refroidissement, un réservoir plein devrait durer de 7 à 9
heures selon le taux d’humidité locale et la température.
Vidange du Réservoir
Apporter l’unité dans un endroit où l’on peut vidanger l’eau
sans danger. Dévisser le bouchon de vidange pour laisser l’eau
s’échapper du réservoir. Une fois le réservoir complètement
vidangé, remettre en place le bouchon de vidange. L’unité est
prête à être remplie avec de l’eau fraîche.
Ajustement du Niveau d’humidité à la Sortie
L’unité est équipée d’un régulateur de débit d’eau. Ajuster
les niveaux d’humidité et de fraîcheur de l’air sortant par la
bouche de sortie en tournant le régulateur de MIN à MAX.
En position MAX, le régulateur permet un plein apport d’eau
au panneau refroidisseur, assurant un niveau maximum de
refroidissement.

Nettoyage: Humecter un chiffon propre avec de l’eau et le
passer sur l’extérieur de l’unité pou enlever toute poussière ou
saleté. Ne jamais utiliser de détergents forts, de solvants ou de
nettoyeurs corrosifs pour nettoyer l’unité. Lorsque l’unité n’est
pas utilisée, vidanger l’eau du réservoir et entreposer dans un
endroit sec et à l’abri du soleil.

diminue l’accumulation de minéraux dans l’eau et prolonge la
vie du panneau. Un linge humide peut être utilisé pour enlever
l’accumulationdecalcaire à l’intérieur etàl’extérieur de l’unité.
Lors de l’utilisation de l’unité, arrêter la pompe en appuyant sur
le bouton COOL jusqu’à ce que le témoin lumineux s’éteigne,
afin d’assécher le panneau avant d’éteindre l’unité. L’intérieur
du réservoir d’eau peut être nettoyé une ou deux fois par saison
afin de mainteni une bonne qualité d air.
Nettoyage en profondeur : Le modèle KA55 est doté d’un
réservoir facile à enlever. S’assurer que l’unité est débranchée
de la prise de courant. Détacher les attaches de verrouillage
du réservoir des deux côtés. Soulever l’unité et la dépose
doucement sur le plancher. Faire attention au bas oscillant de
la pompe et s’assurer que le bras oscillant se plie à l’horizontal.
Nettoyer le réservoir avec de l’eau et un tissu doux. Un savon
ou un détergent doux peut être utilisé.
Déposer le panneau de refroidissement: Déposer les vis
retenant la grille arrière et retirer cette grille. Détacher les deux
extrémités des barres de retenue du panneau refroidisseur et
déposer ce panneau. À l’aide d’eau et d’une brosse douce,
nettoyer le panneau refroidisseur pour enlever toutes traces de
débris, de saleté et d’accumulations de minéraux. S’assurer de
bien nettoyer la partie supérieure du panneau refroidisseur. Ne
pas utiliser d’agent nettoyant.


S’assurer que le cordon est branché et tenter de mettre en marche l’unité en appuyant sur
les boutons du panneau de commandes ou de la télécommande.
Vérifier le disjoncteur de circuit électrique ou vérifier le bouton Reset du disjoncteur de
fuite à la terre.
S’assurer que le réservoir d’eau a été correctement assemblé et verrouillé.
Vérifier le niveau d’eau et mettre la pompe en marche en appuyant sur le bouton COOL
S’assurer que l’icône COOL ne clignote pas (bas niveau d’eau ou pas d’eau) - remplir le
réservoir.
Remplacer la pompe
Le média neuf aura une odeur initiale qui disparaîtra en moins d’une semaine après la
première utilisation. Si l’unité n’est pas neuve, il pourrait y avoir un problème d’algues
– remplacer le panneau de média et entretenir régulièrement.
Faire une vidange, un nettoyage en profondeur et nettoyer le média.
Il peut être nécessaire de remplacer le média.
Faire un essai avec la télécommande. Si l’unité répond, les dispositifs de fixation du
panneau de commandes sont lâches. Si ni le panneau de commande ni la télécommande
ne fonctionnent, le panneau de commandes est endommagé – remplacer le panneau de
commandes.
Faire un essai avec la télécommande pour voir si l’unité répond. Si l’unité répond
brièvement, la cause la plus probable est la présence de moisissures dans le panneau de
commandes. Mettre hors fonction l’unité en débranchant le cordon. Vidanger, nettoyer et
sécher l’unité; remplacer au besoin le média. Remplir avec de l’eau fraîche.
Vérifier les batteries.
Nettoyer l’unité en profondeur – enlever les débris de calcaire.
